1. Wash and condition hair first ( I use Pantene Smooth and Sleek line) 2. Let hair air dry ( I have much better results with air dried hair as opposed to blow dried hair) 3. Spray section with CHI 44 Iron Guard 4. Starting from root (or pretty close) turn iron approx 45 degrees instead of pulling straight. You do not have to wrap your hair around the iron as you do with a curling iron. 5. When you get close to the middle of the section of hair, turn the iron just a few more degrees and clap hair with iron until hair falls out at the end of the section. 6. If you did it right, you will have a beautiful soft curl. 7. Once you have done your whole head of hair, cool with a fan or just walk otside into some cool air and let hair cool naturally instead of using a cool blow dryer. 8. Rub a pea sized amount of CHI Silk Infusion in the palms of your hands and work through your hair using your fingers to loosen curls. 9. Finish off with CHI Shine Infusion Polishing Spray. Your curls and style will last at least three days without you having to do anything to your hair...no matter what kind of unruly hair you have!!!!!
PS This Iron gets very hot and I would not recommend to people with heat sensitive hair...my hair is very resilient to heat...just a warning!!!!
Be sure to use the products that come with your chi! submitted by: Emma, Mon Feb 26 2007

I bought this flat iron about 3 months ago and I was amazed at what It did for my hair. But after about 6 weeks of using the chi it was time for my first haircut after getting my chi and my stylist told me that I had A LOT of split ends..She had never told me this before. I told her that I had gotten a new flat iron and it didn't have a temperature control setting so it was just set at "really hot"..She giggled and told me that I deffinatly need to use a protection spray because they honestly do work. Since then I haven't gotten a haircut since I started using the Iron gaurd but I have noticed a HUGE improvement so I would first like to suggest that you use the Iron gaurd spray (It smells reallllly yummy!!!!)
The way I straighten my hair takes me a realllly long time but I love the results..I get up at 4:00 and I am ususally not done until 6:00 and this is with dry hair! So it takes me around 2 hours to get beautifully straight hair. This is what I do: -Shower the night before using Redken "all soft" shampoo and conditioner -Sleep with hair down to be sure its all dry in the morning -Put all hair up but leave a litttle section down -Spray that section with 3 sprays of iron gaurd -comb that section with a fine comb -starting on the left I grab a peice of hair ,from the part I put down, that is about 1 inch. - I slowly run the iron from my head down to the end then once I do this to the whole part I put down..I straighten it all as a chunk to make it prettier -Then I do the back and then the sided and then I wave my hair in front of a fan (to rebuild) and at the same time I put the silk infusion serum (about a raisin size droplet) and rub it around in my hands then smooth it threw my hair while cooling it off...I WOULD NOT SUGGEST USING A COOL BLOW DRYER, A FAN WORKS BETTER (COOL BLOW DRYER COULD MAKE FRIZZIES, ICK!!)
**If I want to make my hair look like it has more life..I flip the ends out and it looks really cute If I do a half up half down pony tail!!!

if your not careful you could burn your hair.. which no one wants. spray your hair with a protector so your hair wont FRY!! Many people have burnt their hair because they didnt know how hot the CHI got!! otherwise great product!
