I received this as a birthday present last year and loved it. I used it maybe 5 times a week. A few days ago it quit blowing hot air and the warranty was up by TWO DAYS and the CHI people said there was nothing they could do. This seems to be a typical pattern for them. Cheaply made. Don't waste your money. I was very disappointed.

I brought this item without reading the reviews and used it for 2 months and it stopped working and would only blow out cold air. It's over-priced and a piece of crap!! Don't bother wasting your money!!!!

I should have read some reviews before I purchased this dryer. For about a year, I loved my CHI hair dryer. However, almost one year to the date after purchase, it stopped blowing hot air. Sounds like a common problem with this product. Don't waste your money!!!

I bought this hair dryer a year ago so my warranty's up, but I really want a new dryer. This one works n all but its not worth the money- it doesn't blow out very strong at all and I have thick curly hair, the only reason my hair straightens is because it gets so hot, but it takes me sooo long to blow it out because of the air pressure. I ranged it average because it gets hot enough to get the kinks out but doesn't blow strong enough to get through thick hair quickly.

I bought my Chi in April 2008, and in July 2008 it stopped blowing hot air and would only blow cool air. I returned it and Folica sent a new one. So far it seems to be working okay except that when I first turn it on the air is cool then warms up. This is how my other one started going out. My stylist uses the same blow dryer and returned hers in May after 2 months of use. She got a replacement but it is starting to blow cool air as well. At these prices the manufacturer should really look into what is causing the problems with poor quality.

This is one of the worst hair dryers I've ever used! It worked OKAY, not well, it was mediocre for 3 months, then stopped blowing hot air completely. I'm going back to the Solano (worked great for 5 years).

Puchased this Hair dryer without reading the other reviews It worked great for 6 months, then stopped blowing hot air. Nothing but cold air. Replaced it on the warranty. Next one worked for 2 months then stopped blowing hot air. Will not get another CHI Pro. Must be a defective part within.

loved this dryer for the first 9 mos. until it started squealing. i put up with it because it still worked--until this morning while i was getting ready for work it suddenly stopped blowing hot air. definitely NOT worth $100.

My stylist recommend Chi hair dryer, she uses it and it worked wonders on my thick straight hair. I love it, until day before yesterday….dryer had been going ‘cool’ more often, figured I was getting it too close to my head or something. But yesterday morning, while drying a sectioned portion of hair, a blue flame and a popping noise emitted from my dryer…scared me to pieces. I’ve had the dryer for around 18 months, worked great until then. And, I’m with others who have written; I would have thought this product would have been around for a long time. Going back to my old faithful, Conair!

For the price I expected a lot more than what i received. The diffuser falls off and I have to stop and pop it back on CONSTANTLY. It does however make my hair very shiney and soft IF I spend an hour with a dryer brush. I would recommend it to someone who has very fine thin hair. If you have thick hair you are gonna be there all day. If I am in a hurry I don't even use it and I use the cheap walmart one i bought to hold me over till I bought this one. One good thing though is when i use it I don't feel like I am doing the damage I would normally do with another dryer. Over all I don't think it was worth the money. Thats what I get for splurging.
Not worth the price. Doesn't last.

I've had my Chi Pro for a little over a year. It was recomended by my hair stylist. I loved it until yesterday. It started blowing cold air and nothing but cold air, just as the other reviews. I really love the way it worked but for the price I paid I expected it to last a lot longer. I've had to ask my daughter for my old Revlon dryer back, it's still going strong after 5 years.

This hairdryer is very quiet. The air does not come out fast, but it does dry quickly. Not crazy about the diffuser, it falls off while I use it. Otherwise this is a light, quiet, hairdryer.

Received the Chi Pro hair dryer for a Christmas gift and started using it immediately. I loved it - it dried my hair quickly, was easy to handle, and made my hair look terrific. Two days ago I went to dry my hair and all I got was cold air. I tried both high and low blower settings, but no hot air was to be found. I'm hoping my sister-in-law who gave me the dryer will be able to exchange it wherever she purchased it. In the meantime, I'll use my 5 year old Conair!

I had asked for a parlux dryer for xmas and ended up with this chi. After reading the mixed reviews on this site I wasn't expecting much. However, my two cents is that it is a good dryer. I only just got it so it is too soon to foretell if it will last long term, but it did a fine job drying and smoothing my wavy thin hair. And I had NO product in it whatsoever. It does dry the hair quicker than my previous dryer. It isn't heavy at all and I really do like it!!!! I am so far happy with the dryer, my only comlaint is that the nozzles don't go on and off with ease but it is fine because I don't use them anyway....Don't be afraid to buy this dryer.....does a fine job!!!!!

I purchased this blow dryer without reading the reviews, what a mistake. The same exact thing happen to me. While I have had the blowdryer for 10 months now, i rarely use it. I was on my way to a wedding when I started to dry my hair & low and behold, the air would not get hot. What a disaster! It was an hour before I had to leave and I had no way of drying my hair, and it was 30 degrees outside! Talk about furious! I also have a CHI curling iron that burns my hair right off, it is also faulty. Urgh!!!
