No, it doesn't. At least that I've noticed, with mine. Which, in hindsight, is incredibly dangerous as this iron gets searingly hot. The Chi has no temp adjustment setting either, which tends to over"cook" hair that doesn't need the more powerful heat setting. I've owned 3 of them (they break every year, practically to the date) and am considering getting a different brand of professional iron this year, for an iron with an adjustable heat setting. If you have one, watch it while it is on and watch where you put it when you are finished - a heat mat or other protective cover is a good investment. | Can you curl/flip hair with this straightener as well??

My friend had the chi original and i had the chi nano and hers definitely lasted longer. i would recommend not getting the chi nano because mine started on fire. i also knew someone else who's chi nano started on fire too. good luck. | Which works better?

i had the hot pink one at home, it broke today. :( before that i had the black one with the red velvet and it also broke in about 8 months. i'm a hairstylist and we use this blue one at my work. they are on ALL DAY. pretty much every single day and i think we've had them for at least a year. they glide through the hair much better. i love the blue one, so i am going to buy it for myself at home. | Nano = no bacteria?
Does anyone know what the benefit of this nano feature is? I've NEVER heard of anyone getting a hair infection or germs making people's hair bad or people passing infection through hair appliances. What's the point?! Question posted by Chapin Sat May 19 2007 Submit your answer 2" vs nano
