great if it works

It is fantastic when it works, I loved mine at first, it gets my hair straight and it will stay straight even through humidity and everything were as if I use any other brand my hair fros up the second I go outside, but a week after I got it it wouldn't turn on. I have a rubber band tying the cord up around the base of the iron so the short in the wire will connect, about 2 months after I got it the fuzzy red stuff started to peel off and would leave globs of glue in my hair so I peeled it off myself. I really wish they hadn't gotten chimpanzees to assemble this product.

So I've tried a whoooole bunch of straighteners, let me just start by saying that. Anytime I see a friend has a new one, I've gotta try it. I'm not even going to go into what everyone refers to as the "walmart" straighteners, honestly their category doesn't belong anywhere near a chi. Other reviews will compare the chi to other brands, fhi, yadda yadda..but ultimately, the chi is in a class of its own. I have NEVER seen the kind of results I see with this chi turbo! In college all my friends used it instead of their own because it straightens so well and so fast! Afterward, it leaves my hair extra shiny and silky..even when I don't use any straightening products. Even for $200, its worth the money. the only negative I've experienced is, unfortunately, the cord/power issue that arises over time. Three of my three chi turbos have all stopped workin all of a sudden..not as in a plate won't warm up but as in the piece doesn't function at all. The third one I had (I just ordered a replacement tonight!) Lasted me the longest-nearly 2 and a half years. After three I started looking around for another one but after trying three more "top" pieces I found myself even more drawn back. In fact, I'm never satisfied with the results unless I'm using the turbo.i love it and you will too! I'd give it ten stars if I could.

i have had mine for 5 years and it has just started to stick wen you turn it on and off. but hey its really old but it still straightens as good as when i first got it [=

Hair type: Natural African-American hair, slightly coarse but soft and fine
I purchased this iron about 3.5 years ago and it still works extremely well. It heats quickly and straightens my hair with one pass leaving it shiny and silky as well. I tried the Sedu b/c of it's great reviews and while it heats quickly, it simply seems to burn my hair, destroyed my ends, and certainly didn't leave it shiny and silky like the Chi.

I purchased this product for my daughter for Christmas and she absolutely loves it. If you must use a straightner this is the one to buy. She loves it.

I have curly/frizzy hair and I use my chi about 3 times a week and its great!! Plus, my hair will stay straight for one more day (like days im late for work and dont have time to wash)Its great!!
