Nice and quite

I really love this dryer. My twin daughters have very long hair and hate to blow dry their hair because it takes too long and they don't like the noise.
They were very happy to find their hair would dry in half the time and was quite. For me I like the fact it doesn't blow my hair everywhere and it dries a whole lot less frizzy. When I first got it I didn't think it was powerful enough because I was use to dryer that blow you back to OZ. I also bought the Flat iron and the curling iron by CHI. I have to admitt I like the curling iron better because I am not use to a flat iron. Best curling iron I have ever owned. I travel a lot and I always take my dyer with me even though hotels have dyers.
C an't be without my CHI.

i love this hair dryer - it tries my hair significantly faster than other blowdryers and my hair seems to require less styling.

This is a fabulous hair dryer. It is lightweight and fast; dries my hair quickly -- AND it is very quiet.

I have no hair styling talents, nor do I have the patience. This hair dryer is excellent for me! It dry's quickly (since I am impatient) and styling is a breeze. My hair now has great body, instead of fine, limp, and flat. I look great now every day!
(My husband used it to defrost the freezer and it cut the time of that task in half.)This dryer is worth every penny!
This is a third time defect.

I am a salon owner and i bought the chi dryer. i bought five of those and the three of them blew up. I thought the name brand would be a good product but that happened. It only last a couple of months. All my stylist complained about it. It just happened that the fourth one blew up again so, i do not know if i want to change it still. i actually have a total of seven because of 4 original purchased and 3 has been exchanged. Please let us know what the problems are that it blows up really fast. I think it does not happen in my salon only but other stylists that told me about it, too.
Chi Hair Dryer: Fantastic while it lasted...

My sister gave me this at the beginning of the year when she received it a sample model from the salon she worked at at the time. I had used my original chi iron faithfully for almost 2 years before finally switching over to blow-drying straight. This dryer was fantastic; it was very hot and made my hair smoother and silkier than ever, while resisting the humidity for three days straight! It was lightweight and easy to handle, and on days when i blow dried just to dry my hair, it dried my hair in less than 10 minutes, as opposed to the 25 minutes it took for my t3 dryer to complete the job. My hair never felt fried or dry after using this almost everyday. However, the motor blew out after about 2 months. I paid another $150 to replace it just because I knew I couldn't live without it. However, the dryer i have now is starting to slow down on me, after only being used about 10 times! I hope this one doesn't break because I really want to love everything about the Chi Hair Dryer! Buy it for yourself and try it out; i hope mine were all defects because i wish everyone could enjoy this appliance without having it break down on them. This is my all time favorite dryer ever; don't let the price distract you from the performance. :)

For every dissatisfied customer I must say that you do not know what you're talking about. I read through many of the reviews and laughed about what was written about this awesome dryer. First of all, if you are one of those complaining that it's too hot you don't know what you're doing! I received this dryer for my 22nd birthday and have been using it for 10 months now and it works like a champ. I use a round brush to blow my curly hair straight. I am Korean and Black so my hair has a little curl to it, but not a tight curl. It easily straightens and looks like Asian hair. I do agree that this iron gets hot but too hot? No! If you have it directly on your roots for a long period of time of course it's going to be hot! How do you rectify that situation? Like a professional, you blow the roots and then move down the hair shaft. My Kerastase stylist uses all CHI appliances and he never burned my scalp using the CHI Turbo dryer, nor did he ever burn it using the original CHI iron (which is the #1 iron, blowing away the Sedu and Solia combined)!!! If you want to hate on a hair appliance, please...anything but this one because if you do, you don't know how to use it, thus you don't deserve to use it!

This is a nice dryer. It gets very hot but it doesn't blast my hair dry like my old dryer. It does dry faster, it's light to hold, but it is a little big, it's sometimes hard to manage. I have really long, thick, curly hair that I straighten often and this dryer does seem to dry it faster. I like the attachements the CHI dryer came with. It does cut down the frizz. The only thing I don't like is how big it is. It's good if you're doing someone elses hair.
Too Hot

I was excited to purchase the CHI hair dryer as I already have several of the CHI straightening irons in our salon and we love them.
The hair dryer is quiet and we like that alot. It does dry the hair fast but it is VERY HOT. Clients complain it's too hot near their scalp, neck and skin. My stylists complain it's too hot on their hands when moving the hair around. It seems especially hot to the client when when we try to round brush the hair. I am returning these hair dryers. It needs a lower heat option besides the cool shot button.

I bought it and the diffuser will not stay on the nozzel and falls off. The tabs on the diffuser which grip the nozzel are so small there is absolutely no holding grip. It is a poor design and for the price paid for a professional hair dryer is not what I expected. Check it out carefully if you need it with the diffuser in place. I am returning mine after checking the store's entire stock and found all 6 in stock with the same defective problem for retaining the diffuser in place.

Recently, my Chi dryer (red casing), began to smell, then shorted out. I called the 1 800# (Farouk Systems) for repair and was told that the company is not set up to receive repairs on the red model. In fact, I was told that this repair unit would not be operable for at least three months. Additionally, since I've had the dryer over a year they can't replace it. I asked for a call back from the owners, so far(it's been 24 hours), nothing. 3/1/05
If this is not resolved, I will not purchase another CHI product. The high cost of their products are out of line with their low rate customer service.

I actually just sent my chi blowdryer back. If you are looking for something that takes an hour to dry fine hair then get this one otherwise I would opt to buy a solano.
Heating Element Dead

Same review as above... the heating element died in this hair dryer after about 6 months. It was wonderful up to then, but if you are spending this much money on something, it should last more than 6 month.

This hair dryer is great!!! I dries my hair in a few minutes and I have LONG CURLEY hair. I used to let it dry itself but now it is very easy. It also holds my hair straight if I use a brush.
I Love It.
Thanks

Heating Element went out in 3 Months

I received the Chi hairdryer as a gift and was sadly disappointed when the heating element blew out in 3 short months. Up until that point the dryer worked and I was happy with it's performance. However, a dryer this costly should last a lifetime and should never die out in 3 months. Whatever happened to QUALITY!! I tried to get it repaired and that was unsuccessful, I tried to return it and they wouldn't take it back. I obviously must have gotton a Lemon, so I gave it a proper burial... the trash can! =( I cringe when a hear someone say the Chi is the Best. I disagree!

To be completely honest, I'm using it in conjunction with hair products that are suspose to reduce or eliminate the frizz. I'm an African American woman who does not have a perm. I tell you, this dryer with the right hair products(bio silk therapy, Kera Care Silken sheen), Solia Ceramic flat iron makes my hair straight and it appears I have a perm. I work out and it holds the sweat. A stylist in Texas did my hair and it was sooo bouncey and flowing. I live in Philly. Now, I haven't been able to fully recreate it, but I'm close. I've order the Bio Silk Balm and Soothing Solution(I think she used the latter) and I'll see what happens.

I bought this a year ago, and my sister liked it so much, she bought one, too. It has made a tremendous difference in our hair. Not only does hair look better when you're finished, but it is more resistant to the humidity the rest of the day than it is with a normal hair dryer.
Hot! Hot! Hot!

Boy does this dryer put out the HEAT! It dries very quickly because it gets so hot, but the wonderful part about it is that it doesn't burn the hair. I also liked the results of the blow dryer. In the past, I would dry my hair and it wouldn't dry with much length. When I blew my hair dry with the CHI Ceramic Ionic Hair Dryer, my hair was dry with length. It was the first time that I immediately flat ironed my tresses and it remained straight! Super investment.
