Blows only cold air and diffuser pops off

I have had this product for a few months and the diffuser always pops off, the cord gets tangled, and it now only blows cold air. I am a hair dresser and will not recommend this hair dryer to anyone. What a waste of money!

Loved using my chi dryer, but it only lasted about 1.5 years. It now only blows cold air, which does not do me much good, and I'm out $150! I wanted to replace it with another but the retailer would not give me a discount on the dryer. I was afraid of it not lasting, so I purchased another brand.

I bought this dryer because I have very dry,curly hair.The first time I used it I could smell my hair burning.It is so hot that it burned my hand.I can't believe I spent this much money on a piece of junk!!!!!

I bought a Chi Dryer, loved it at first. Bought it because my T3 Tourmaline, which got great product reviews, blew up on me after 8 months. I blow my hair 3 times a week, and it's shoulder length. I take good care not to drop dryers on the floor. So, bought that first Chi, and after 4 months it started smoking. Got ridiculously hot, and made noises. Returning it for warranty meant I'd be without it for months, so I exchanged it at the store for a new one. Second one died in 3 months. Started blowing cold air and making noises. A glutton for punishment, I exchanged it once more, thinking maybe it was a bad batch in the store's shipment. Third one died in a record 4 weeks! Remember, I only blow my hair 3 times a week, if that. This one starting making noise and smoking, and would only work burning scalding hot air through the nozzle, on low. Went to store and exchanged it for a Solano. I'll keep you posted. In the meantine, let my lessons serve you well: DO NOT BUY ANY CHI DRYERS. P.S. I have the flat iron from CHI and it's incredble. A real workhorse...go figure.

when the dryer blows ONLY COLD AIR
there's lil flat metal pin next to end of the nozzle, push it down with a pencil and it'll blow hot air again, these dryers are VERY cheapy made, but no worries
If you already bought one, head over to radio shack, get a Soldering iron kit about $10, and solder the broken loose connection on, it's really easy and simple.
I fixed 4 Chi dryers that blows only cold air.

I am on my second CHI dryer in a year. My first only blew cold air after about three months. The manufacturer sent me a new one, and now the second one is dying as well. It sounds like a sick cat and smells like burning hair despite my regular cleaning of the air filter. The dryer is great when it is in working order, but it is ridiculous that it only lasts a few months.

i am a hair stylist and this is my drier. i have tried a bunch of driers and none compare. When i went to the premier show and asked around this is the drier of choice for most stylist. power buttons could be relocated but besides that no complains i love it and so do my clients!!

I am the CHI turbos BIGGEST fan! I didn't know that a hairdryer could be this good. I've had it for about a year now and I am in love. The drying time is amazing! Also how hot is the red? I also believe that the CHI flat iron is a miracle worker. It can make the most coarse, curly hair feel like silk (with the help of some good product).

I purchased a CHI Dryer. It was very well. It usually takes me 10-15 minutes to dry my hair. With the CHI Dryer, it takes me only 5 minutes. I hope I will get the benefits of less overheating and damaging of hair with this professional product. Have Fun and Good Luck with your product.

I have used many hair dryers in my life but the Chi is way above the rest. I have short, dyed hair and this dryer gives me a great style and shine without having to use other products. It's the one my hairdresser uses and I am so glad I spent the money to buy one.

This hairdryer is the best! It has cut the drying time in half and leaves my hair soft and shiny. At first I was not sure if I should spend so much money for a hair dryer. I found out it is worth every penny!

I've had this hair dryer for about a year, I have latina thick frizzy hair and get it relaxed. It did cause a little more damage than most blowers, but my problem was that it took a little bit to get to it highest heat output and it lost power after awhile so if you want an investment blower that will last you a long time look elsewhere.

This is a better hair dryer and is worth the money. It's more quiet and it is better on the scalp. My scalp skin is not as dry as before. The only thing I wish it had was a retractable cord.

I bought the chi hair dryer on January 2006 and I really like it but it didn't last. Now it only blows cold air. I paid all that money and it was only good for 7 months. What a bummer!

My hairdresser uses the Chi iron AND dryer on my hair, and I could never quite get the same look at home. I got the flat-iron and loved it, but was resistant to pay over $100 for a hair-dryer. Well, after buying 2 sub-quality wanna-bes , I got it, and I'm SO glad I did. My hair dries in 1/2 the time..is much shinier, and the frizz is finally tamed. Highly recommended for people with thick, coarse, curly hair.

I have had this dryer for about one year now. Although it has cut down on the drying time, it has definately damaged my hair. The level of heat is way to hot and as time has went on, the dryer has increased it's heat output. Sometimes it smells like it's burning or melting inside. I will never use this dryer again or recommend anyone else buy this kind.

By all the talk, I thought this would be a worthy investment. Perhaps I am not using it properly, but I am not really seeing much of a difference compared to my 7 year old $30 blow dryer that just died on me.
