It's not that hard!

I've been reading some of these tips and it seems crazy how much a woman will go to perfect her hair! I've been using this routine for over a year, its simple and effective.
1.I wash my hair with Matrix sleek look shampoo and conditioner at night.
2.I let my hair dry in a braid or ponytail while i sleep. 3.In the morning I put a TEENY bit of biosilk silk therapy in my hair. If my hair isn't completely dry I go over the separate layers with the blow dryer right before I straighten them.
Make sure your hair is completely dry!! It will save you time in the long run.
4.After straightening my hair in thin layers, I sometimes put a tad of biosilk in my bangs and ends to ensure their smoothness! This works wonderfully, and I recommend it to everybody!

How to get silky, pin straight hair.
submitted by: Shae, Fri Sep 15 2006
8 of 13 people found this tip helpful.

first, i use matrix sleek look shampoo and conditioner. i towel dry my hair, then apply matrix sleek look extreme styling creme. with a round brush, i blow dry my hair until it's dry. then i use 2 pumps (i have chin length hair) of paul mitchell super skinny serum and distribute it through-out my hair, concentrating on the ends. then i use the chi to flat iron 1" sections, starting at the back of my neck and working my way around and upwards.

this is exactly what my stylist did, right down to the brand of products that were used, and it works AMAZINGLY. my hair was frizzy, dry, and breaking..but when i follow what she did, my hair stays silky, straight, frizz-free, with blinding shine, until i shampoo it again.

hope this helps!

WHAT NOT TO DO!

I've owned a CHI for 5 years. It has always been very dependable. I was doing a lot of traveling and would always wrap the cord around the base of my CHI and pack it away. Now when I plug it in it doesn't always turn on. For a while the swivel cord worked only in certain positions. Now it doesn't work in any position. I had to order a new one.

Making Your Product Last

To make a CHI (or any flat iron) last longer, DO NOT wrap your cord around it; store on countertop, unplugged.

DO NOT drop.

Plug it in and turn it on right before intended use. Unplug as soon as you are finished straightening your hair.

I hope this helps make your CHI last!

Beginner of chi ( african american)

I've just purchased my chi and decided to try it out for the first time. The mistake I made was I had biosilk pomade in my hair and it started frying my hair. Someone told me it was ok to flat iron with pomade, DON'T DO IT!!!! My hair on one side is burnt. Use only thermal protection products before using the Chi.

African American Hair

I've tried the Chi flat iron w/o anything on my hair, I've tried it w/ oils, I've tried it with serums, to figure out what will keep it from being frizzy and get it bone straight!

Here's what I've found to work best:

1. Before you blow dry your hair, add a protective liquid serum for protection and shine and if you are dandruff prone "lightly" oil scalp.

2. After hair is blowdried, spray each small piece of hair w/ oil sheen right before you straighten it.

3. Check to make sure no pieces were missed. Go through again if necessary.

I've found this technique works best if you like light, barely oily hair. It makes your hair straight, soft and silky!! Simple, but works. Worth a try.

Hope this helps you, as it did me!

chi <3

i find the chi is simply amazing with straightening hair. its the best ive had - but u have to take care of ur hair if u dont want it to get fryed
the chi does not have a heat seating nd the heat is very high and it can do damage to your hair if you dont put a protective spray or serum on it first. i use a flat iron spray nd then i use the chi silk infusion. it does wonderful with my hair but i tend to have alot of split ends.
so make sure if u use ur chi every other day like i do that u properly condition and take care of you hair =)

What works for me.

I usually wash my hair with garnier fructise long and stong shampoo as well as conditioner. After I come out of the shower I apply frizz ease serum. I usually let my hair dry natrually over night but some times I blowdry it. in the morining I then part and section all my hair into small peices, and spray matrix sleek look iron smoother (heat protector) to prevent my hair from becoming damaged. and then I iron my hair.

dry naturally, use thermal silk and smile!

Ok here's what I do, and it WORKS!! I have thick curly hair

1. Wash my hair and let it dry naturally. (sometimes I put mousse on it and let it dry, both have similar results)
2. Brush out the curls a section at a time.
3. Apply CHI Thermal Silk to each section (a pea size amount for small sections, and a little mor for larger sections).
4. Run the CHI iron through it slowly a few times.
5. Once ALL my hair is straightened, I apply a little bit more CHI Thermal Silk and TAADAA!!!!

I hope it works for you too!

ok at night i wash with sheer blond shampoo.. rine then put conditioner on my hair and let sit for 3-5 min. then i rinse w/ cool water to seal the cuticle...then i comb my hair out and apply loreal hot straight stuff (or something like that its in a pink bottle) wrap a t shirt over my head (i toss and turn a lot so my head needs to be prtected) and go to bed.... then when i wake up i spray with heat protectant spray chi a piece, comb it, then chi it again, THEN clip it up w/ my clip so i can get to the next peice... when im all done i go over it quickly w/ the sraightener, checking that i got all places... then i spray with frizease hair spray humidity blocker... yay for chi's
