AT NIGHT OR BEFORE YOU TAKE A SHOWER PUT OLIVE OIL IN YOUR HAIR FOR EXTRA SILK AND SOFTNESS(DIME SIZED AMOUNT). WASH OUT THE OLIVE OIL SO IT'S NOT GREASY. WASH YOUR HAIR WITH SUNSILK THERMASHINE SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER, THIS PRODUCT PROTECTS HAIR FROM HEAT DAMAGE. TOWEL DRY HAIR AND APPLY CHI SILK INFUSION TO WET HAIR(DIME SIZE AMOUNT)THIS GIVES YOU SILKY HAIR AND PROTECTS FROM HEAT DAMAGE TOO. USE A ROUND BRUSH AND BLOW DRY HAIR. WHEN DONE, PUT HALF OF HAIR UP IN A CLIP. STRAIGHTEN A 2 INCH SECTION OF HAIR AT A TIME. WHEN DONE FLAT IRONING THAT HALF SPRAY A LIGHT MISTY HAIRSPRAY OVER THAT AND BRUSH THROUGH. LET HAIR DOWN FROM CLIP AND DO THE SAME THING, STRAIGHTEN, SPRAY, AND BRUSH. ***MAKE SURE WHEN YOU STRAIGHTEN YOUR HAIR WITH THE CHI, GO FROM THE ROOT ON DOWN TO THE ENDS. DO NOT GO SLOW, THAT WILL BREAK YOUR HAIR FASTER, GLIDE FAST A COUPLE TIMES UNTIL STRAIGHT. DON'T BURN YOURSELF!
want to have perfect hair using your chi? submitted by: marissa, Mon Nov 12 2007

ok guys, if you want perfect hair when you use your chi, just follow these instructions. 1. wash your hair with pantene ice shine shampoo and conditioner. leave the conditioner on for 5 minutes. seriously guys, this this stuff makes my hair so soft and shiny! 2. towel dry your hair in sections. when it's damp, rub some john frieda frizz ease serum through it to get rid of frizzies and to protect your hair from the heat of your blowdryer/chi straightener. 3. blow dry hair straight. spray with loreal heat protecting spray and heat up your chi. 4. straighten your hair with your chi in sections. your hair looks the best when you clip your hair up into sections and straighten the bottom layer, then the middle, then the top layer of hair. 5. spray a little bit of shine spray on your hair. your hair should look silky and straight!
how to keep your hair healthy and shiny. submitted by: kelseyyyy =], Sun Nov 11 2007

okayyy guys, i do this everyday to keep my hair healthy and shiny, so pay attention. one i do to air dry, the other when i want to blow dry and straighten.
for air drying 1. i wash my hair at night with moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. i like nexxus, but you can use anything as long as it's moisturizing. 2.towel dry hair super well. pat, don't rub. rubbing creates frizz and static. 3. when my hair is still damp, i scrunch a little bit of bumble and bumble curl cream into my hair to bring out my natural waves. 4. i let it dry while i sleep. in the morning, i shake my waves and spray them with garnier shine spray.
for blowdrying/straightening 1. still wash with moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, but if you have deep conditioner, that's even better. i love redken smooth down butter treatment. it makes my hair super silky. 2. towel dry like always. 3. mix a drop of smoothing cream with a drop of anti-frizz serum. i love dove styling cream and bumble and bumble anti-frizz serum. 4. rub through hair and blow dry. when dry, put on some heat protecting spray and run the chi straightener through your hair. your hair should be straight and silky smooth!
make your hair even shinier and silkier submitted by: ShAnNoN!*!*!, Tue Oct 30 2007

*** let your hair air dry *** 1. Wash your hair with the Fekkai glossing shampoo and conditioner letting the conditioner sit in your hair for about two to three minutes. 2. At the end of your shower or bath blast your hair with ice cold water (the colder the water, the shinier the hair). 3. Work a "pea size" of the Fekkai glossing cream through damp hair and wrap in a towel for about an hour. 4. Its best to sleep on a silk pillow case because it prevents frizz. 5. In the morning, spray the CHI 44 Iron Guard on your hair before flat ironing. 6. Flat Iron your hair. 7. Work another "pea size" amount of the Fekkai glossing cream through your hair for ultimate frizz control (work the cream through after your hair has cooled down from the flat ironing). *** let your hair air dry ***
warning for people with delicate hair submitted by: lydia, Mon Aug 27 2007

I just bought the Chi yesterday and will be returning it tomorrow. The bad thing about the Chi is that it has one setting...HOT! If you have bleached hair it will fry it...I even put a product in my hair but the temp was way too much. I owned a Sedu for 4 years until it broke last week...I plan on getting another since that one didn't damage my hair and had temperature control. If your hair is delicate I'd skip the Chi.

Ok...I read a LOT of reviews, and noticed how your hair dried out or was fried at the ends ect. Look people it's called conditioner...I use L'Oreal Paris Studio Line Hot Straight LEAVE IN CONDITIONER. It helps & improves straighening. It also has GREAT heat protection. It really works, just follow the directions on the bottle. In the next case, you say your straightener is supposedly "not durable." DO NOT STRAIGHTEN IF YOU HAVE ANY KIND OF WET GEL OR STYLING PRODUCT IN YOUR HAIR WHILE STRAIGHTENING IT. It WILL ruin your straightener! (about the conditioner, let your hair DRY COMPLETELY before you straighten it.) More than likely you will NOT have any product residue on your straightener.

I have achieved the best resluts after washing and conditioning hair then blow drying straight. If you have coarse or thick hair, this works best. Your hair is silky smooth and unbelieveably silky soft! Your hair will feel and look wonderful. You will get that salon quality look and feel right at home!
CURLS submitted by: deja, Thu Apr 05 2007

Making curly hair wiht the CHI was a challenge at first, but i finally figured out how to do it and want to share with those who are still struggling. Take a piece of hair by the root and put it into the iron. rotate the iron 360 degrees so your hair goes all the way around the hot part. hold for a second or less (it works really fast) release SLIGHTLY and pull down hold and press again for a second. Make sure the hair is pulled tightly around the iron for best results. Release slightly again and keep lowering it to the root little by little making sure your hair still wrapped around the iron. you don't wanna wrap the WHOLE strand of hair around like when using a typical curling iron, this will not work. With the chi you can creat a curl SO FAST and you dont have to sit and hold it like with cheap irons. the faster you do it the bigger the curls/waves. if you do it little by little you'll have curly sue curls!

i use the chi almost daily. i take a shower at night and let my hair dry naturally til morning. in the shower i use bumble & bumble products and once a week i use their sunday shampoo. this keeps my hair healthy. then i straighten my hair as usual. i, then, blow my hair with a burst of cool air from my hairdryer. sometimes i add a small amount of shimmer to my roots so they look great as the sun hits them. this makes my hair look amazing.
