The Chi is not a bad hot iron, but it stopped working after six months. I had read that this occurs, but took a gamble and lost.
2" Chi is great!

I have had the Chi for 2 months and I love it. Heats up quickly and is quick and effective. Has my hair looking great. Also, Folica's price is great.. I have seen them listed at $200.

No matter how much I spend on a straightening iron I find that all of them stop heating up within a year. I took excellent care of my Chi and within a couple weeks of my one year warranty being up, it stopped getting as hot and the red light started flashing. Now it sometimes won't heat up at all. You'd think with the money it costs, they would make a long lasting product.
I Love it!!!

Best hair straightner around. I've had so many different ones in the same price range, and this one just works wonders :)
Don't pay more than $130

I have found the CHI to be adequate, but not noticeably better than the cheaper flat irons I've used. All the Irons work best when the adjustable temperature is at the hot end of the scale. The best features on my CHI Turbo are:
1. The felt on the outside does provide a bit of protection against burns.
2. Mine came with a carrying case for travel. Now I don't have to struggle to fold and secure the cord when I travel. Never wrap the cord around the iron.
3. The cord is light weight and flexible. Since the cord is the most vulnerable part, some irons come with a heavy duty, stiff cord. I hate to admit it, but the whole reason I wanted a new flat iron is because I hated the heavy duty stiff cord on the cheaper model I had.
Stopped working after just 3 weeks!!! :(

I got my CHI as a birthday gift. I only used it about 5 or 6 times and on the third week that I went to turn it on, it wouldnt cut on. I tried everything, and it still wont turn on or heat up. I am very disappointed b/c I have heard so many wonderful things about this straightener. I LOVED how it made my hair feel and look the 5 times that I got to actually use it. But its so not worth paying $125 dollars for a straightener that wont last. My straightener before I got my CHI was $20 dollars and its been working for about 7 years or so and still works! It just doesnt do as great as the CHI.

I straightened my hair everynight before I go to sleep and in the morning when i wake up for school. With me old straightener i noticed my hair satrtd smelling burmed. My sister recomeded a CHI. It dosent burm my hair, and i only have to straighten it once! And it never frizzes. I LOVE IT!!!

I actually returned my CHI, and still have not received a credit on my card. So the return policy is not as easy as they claim. The flat iron I purchased from Walmart for $20.00 is much better.
The one purchased from Walmart leaves my hair alot less fizzy.
Sorry CHI, this time I will have to say more expensive is not always better.
IT'S SOOOO AMAZINGLY GREAT!!! :]]]

Well, i went to my friends house and she had the CHI hairstriahgtner. i never have herd of it until that day. so, i used it and in less that 20 minuets, my hair was non-frizzy, shiny, + smooth. i was amazed! my hair is thick and curly. and i mean thick. ever sence i used it that one day i have loved it ever sence. THE CHI IS THE BEST STRAIGHTNER HERE! YOU SHOULD DEFFINETLY BUY IT. ITS WORTH THE MONEY, AND YOU CAN SAY GOOD BUY YOU FRIZZY, CURLY, POOFY HAIR! :]]

This straightener is awesome, but I have read hundreds of reviews and a good lot of them say that after a while, this straightener breaks. I went to use it the other day and you have to jiggle the cord to make it work. They say don't store it with the cord wrapped up, but what do they expect? Folica doesn't add to this problem because they give you a free case that requires you to wrap the cord up to store it. Good straightener, not a great product life.
Extremely Happy!!

I am extremely happy with the 2 inch Chi straightener I purchased a month ago. I have always used Hot Tools and those straighteners took forever to straighten my long thick hair. I am also very happy with how fast Folica shipped my order! Thank you!!
Not so great...

I bought the Chi after a friend of mine raving about hers. She has the 1" and supposedly can not live without hers. I have had a Babyliss for 5 years and seriously feel the same way about it. Unfortunately, I can not say the same about the Chi. I found that it did not close tightly enough which I was used to with the Babyliss. It does get very hot and I liked the fact that you could actually change to temperature but I really am disappointed in the closing function. Any one else have the same experience? I rate it average as the temperature feature is nice but I could not use a lesser temperature considering I can not get a tight closure. Sorry Linz!

Heats up fast and works fast. My hair is soft and smooth. I have very curly hair and it is humid here in Illinois. No one would know when I use this flat iron I can achieve stick straight hair if I want, and fast.
This is my second one as the first one I brought to France and it didn't like it there. So don't use overseas. Keep in the good ole US of A! Highly recommend!

The purchase of the 2" Chi (Turbo) was smooth and rewarding. The bonus 'flat iron pouch' was not only a pleasant surprise but my wife has found it to be quite useful. She has naturally curly hair and has difficulty getting other cheaper irons to do the job. She loves all the compliments she receives on her new hair style. I would definitely recommend Chi and folica.com to my friends and will come here first for future hair care purchases.
