I've never owned a flat iron before this Chi. My colleague had recommended that as a first time user, I should invest in the Chi rather than a cheap brand. It took me a while to save up for it but it was the smart thing to do - to spend $$ on this one.
Anyways, I bought it, I love it. My friends thought I had 'asian hair' to start out with but let me tell you, the Chi makes it cornsilk straight. I tried it on my friend who has curly hair, it worked a miracle! SHe got compliments all day and even got other ladies interested in the CHi.

This little thing is amazing, usually when I straightened me hair it was still full of body and never laid down nicely, now it is straight, flat and it lasts a couple days not a couple hours.

I have not bought another flat iron in 5 years. I was very happy with the one I had. I have always wanted a CHI flat iron. Was very happy with the first piece of hair styled with it. Glad I purchased it. Tell my friends to visit the web site to buy one. The hot pad was an added bonus!!!!!

oh my god this was one of the worst flat irons ive ever bought.. yes it made my hair straight but
1. it was way too expensive
2. the warranty was only 6 months
3. mine broke on the 7th month so i couldn't return it
what happened was the heat switch just didn't work... if your thinking on buy this chi or the other chis don't they are crap they don't last at all and they are like a million dollars you can get a perfectly good flat iron from hot tools for half the cost... i have had my hot tools for over 5 years now and i love it.. it works just like the first day i bought it... once again don't even think about buying this product no matter who tells you to buy it anyway

I handled my CHI very carefully, making sure that the cord was not wrapped around the flat iron, not leaving it on longer than a few minutes etc. It stopped working in less than 8 months. I can not anyone to answer the phone numbers listed at Folic.com, so I called the manufacturer, Farouk Systems. They told me that they did not honor any of the warranties from any online sellers and that selling their products online was illegal. I have emailed Folica for resolution to this and will let the community know of the response that I get. Wish me luck !

my chi hair straightener worked great at the beginning but now, after 3 months or so, it seems as though it isn't getting as hot. it used to work great but now it hardly straightens my hair. it also makes my hair extremely frizzy. after reading all the great reviews about this product i was expecting much better, especially with all of the hype about how awesome chi is supposed to be. personally, i am disappointed.

I bought the Chi expecting the results that the other reviewers of this product had. However, I did not. My hair is very curly but it has been relaxed several times so now it is just wavy when it is blown dry. Since my hair is not totally unmanagable like some of the other reviewers I expected to be impressed. The Chi does work better than my $20 walmart straightener that is over a year old but just slightly. I do not think this product is worth the money. I will not recommend it to others.

This my 3 Chi iron I'm buying for a family member. I have have thick curly hair and it definitely is a miracle how it straightens my hair. I love it!!

I have tried many flat iron products and this by far is the best. On my natural hair, I can achieve the best stratening results.

my straightener shorted out and stopped heating up like it hsould and i am now sending it back to get repaired.
Before it started shorting out though, it worked VERY well.

wow it's wonderful, i've had this flat iron for two (going on 3) years, and its has yet to quit on me! so i am every satisfied. but i usually spend about and hour every morning straightning my hair, and it usually dosn't stay as straight as i would like it to at school, even if it's not raining, and i even use straightning lotion. but other than that it's absoultly fablous. i strongly recomend it!

While this product worked, it was fantastic,i have thick african american hair and it did miracles for my hair.
Until a few days ago when it just stopped working.
I am very dissapointed,I wish i head read these reviews before I bought it, as I can see there are more people who've had this problem :(

I really like the efficiency and control that the Chi offers, but the Turbo 1" is too short, so I can only straighten very small amounts of hair at a time. Even then, I have to be careful so that the hair does not come out one of the ends. The other problem is that I have to squeeze the handle very tightly and keep the other end closed with my other hand in order to keep the Chi Flat Iron closed.
I like the Iron, but I have to say that I am a little disappointed in this product, as I was expecting it to be significantly better than my previous iron. It is better - just not three-times-the-price better.

Well i purchased the CHI turbo 1'' almost a year ago and let me tell you it does straighten your hair great! (especially if you use CHI's iron gaurd with the CHI silk infusion - your hair will feel oh so silky and healthy) I have wavy, frizzy, color treated hair and it looks a hot mess after i blow dry it, after using the straightner you would think i had naturally straight hair! BUT i did notice that the iron started to run out of "juice" recently. There is a red light that used to stay glow when i had the iron on but now it flickers on and off when I use it and does not get as hot as it used to. I still use it, but it doesnt work as good as when i first got it. I would recommend that if you buy it DO NOT wrap the cord around the iron when your not using it I think that is why mine is starting to go out on me (of course i read this in the little booklet thing after i had been wrapping the cord around it for months) But in the end this straightner is pretty darn good.

This iron is FABULOUS! I bought it for my 18 year old daughter who is VERY PICKY about what she uses in and on her hair. She loves it and is the envy of all her friends! It heats up well, is easy to manage and the 1" width is perfect for her needs. She has long, thin hair and when she uses the CHI, her hair looks beautiful. Thanks for making me a very popular mom!

I absolutely love this product. My hair is naturally super curly and frizzy. I air dry my hair and then pass the Chi through it and in 30 minutes my hair is silky smooth. I love it!
