disappointed

I am expressing my extreme disappointment with this product. I purchased it for my best friend's daughter's sixteenth birthday present a little over two months ago. About a week ago she went to plug it in and it does not work! We looked at the paperwork and it only has a thirty day warranty. Now I am not sure how to go about replacing it. She loved her present and used it everyday! For something so expensive it is an extreme disappointment for it already to not work! Maybe this review will get to someone who can help me you all obviously have my email, hope to hear from someone soon to save customer satisfaction.

I have had my Chi for three months and love it. It heats up fast and works very well. I have naturally curly hair. I have used cheaper brands that work ok but very slow. The Chi smooths my hair completly and quickly.
Chi Turbo not for me

This flat iron did not work well for me. I tried it after using my friend's FHI Iron and was sadly disappointed. As an African-American, I think the Chi works best for curly hair, while FHI leaves my naturally straight hair silky, shiny and bouncy.
Also, there was recently a recall on a Chi flatiron, and they are none to break constantly.
It's OK...

Bought a Chi.........it works OK......not the greatest for
the price.
Bought a Sedu......NOW THAT'S AN IRON!
Paid a-little-bit-more for it but that's OK it's the
Greatest flat iron on the market!
Makes my hair shine and doesn't burn it...SUPER PRODUCT!
Chi....Not-so-super. Save your money!
It was not a fit for me.

Chi came highly recommended from countless sources. Because I wanted to have a temperature control dial, the turbo was my only option. I had to return it b/c the red felt was a deterent when I tried to curl w/ the flat iron. It was fine for straigntening though.

I've used it..but lately everyone is saying my hair looks extremely dry and have advise me to stop using it. I even throw on biosilk therapy before I striaghten it but who knows. My Brother's gf turbo actually broke and she just got a replacement. So since I don't use mine that often I hope it doesn't break. I've read on other review that sometimes this happens. I brought my sister the orginal because she says it works a lot better and she doesn't like the turbo. I think now I should have gotten the orginal also.
It's awesome!

I bought my Chi two months ago and it is wonderful. Better than anything else out there (and trust me, I've tried many). I also bought one for my mom and would recommend to anyone!
Awesome 1" Flat Iron

I have purchased several different flat irons, including one that cost me $100, and none of them compared to this flat iron. My hairdresser bought it and loves it. She convinced me to get it for myself. It is the only flat iron that straightens hair so quickly and effectively. It is very lightweight and easy to use. I highly recommend it! It is worth every penny!

I have naturally very thick, wavy hair. I spent the majority of my teenage years embarrassed, searching for answers. Drug store/cheapo flat irons did nothing for my hair, and stylists with their blow dryers (and their patience) could only half-tame the hair beast. The Chi has been my love-hate relationship for the past two years. The pros are: it actually works, and is worth the money. With practice, you can do a super-straight look, or make your ends flip or curl. The cons? I'm one of the many who have replaced my Chi every year. I'm almost convinced Chi buys internal circuitry that is set to "break" yearly, so it has to be replaced. I have bought three of them, but the price is worth it. The reviewer who wrote that $100 a year for nice hair is worth is was right. The Chi (Original) has no temperature setting, and it is too hot for most people. My hair has suffered severe heat damage, despite using every high-end heat product and conditioner I can find. Instead of replacing my Chi for the third time, I'm looking into the other flat irons this year. Despite how well it works, for Caucasian hair the iron just gets too hot to use more than once or twice a week. The speed of the results is dangerously addictive, and I have seen the health quality of my hair go down the hill since I started using them.

I love the chi. I bought one after having a Babyliss and Ceramix and this is by far the best one yet! my roommate had the old chi and love it as well. However, my chi stopped heating up after a year and a half.. and they only come with a 1 year warranty.
Excellent Flat Iron.... lasted only up to 11 months.

I have been very pleased with this product and thought it was the excellent kind in the market. I really liked the way it glides on my hair leaving it silky, shiny and straight protecting it against the moisture. It worked wonders on my hair until yesterday when it wouldn't turn on. I wish it lasted longer though. After reading the reviews of other customers and from my personal experience I am going to try a different one this time. I am very disappointed and I need more value for my money.
I LOVE IT

At first i was a little worried because i wasn't an experienced flat iron user, but honestly it just took me three times to get used to it!!! This is the best purchase i have ever made and totally recommend it. I know it is a little steep..but trust me...Buy this product if you are thinking about it!
Still loving it...

I've had my Chi for about 2 years now and it's still going strong. Loved it since the day I got it! My dry, frizzy hair is now soft, smooth and silky. I get tons of compliments on my hair. I'm 43 and wish I had this product in high school! I've used other straightners and curlers which only fried my hair. The Chi keeps my hair healthy. I don't know why everyone says they don't last. I've dropped mine several times, travelled with it and never had a problem. Well worth the money and if you did have to buy one once a year....$115.00/year is cheap for great hair.

According to my daughters, the Chi 1" turbo works better than any of the others they have tried especially for thick and/or curly hair. However, it only lasts about 10-11 months as I have had to buy 2 of them in less than 2 years. On both occasions they seem to shorten out at the base.
Great Product

This iron is great for the South with high humitity. I have hair that frizzes with the humitity and this iron helps keep my frizzes in check. I would recommend this product to anyone that wants to have their hair flat and straight!
Great flat iron....for 10 months!

I got the Chi 2" flat iron for Christmas last year from my husband and absolutely loved it!! Just about a week ago, it no longer heats up. It gets up to just a luke warm temperature and won't get any hotter. I don't know what happened, but the only thing I can think of is that it has a short in it. I am very disappointed because this iron hasn't even lasted me 10 months before it broke. I am going to try the 1" to see if it works better, but if it doesn't last longer, I will no longer buy a Chi iron. I will look at something worth the $100!!
