Still loving it...

I've had my Chi for about 2 years now and it's still going strong. Loved it since the day I got it! My dry, frizzy hair is now soft, smooth and silky. I get tons of compliments on my hair. I'm 43 and wish I had this product in high school! I've used other straightners and curlers which only fried my hair. The Chi keeps my hair healthy. I don't know why everyone says they don't last. I've dropped mine several times, travelled with it and never had a problem. Well worth the money and if you did have to buy one once a year....$115.00/year is cheap for great hair.

According to my daughters, the Chi 1" turbo works better than any of the others they have tried especially for thick and/or curly hair. However, it only lasts about 10-11 months as I have had to buy 2 of them in less than 2 years. On both occasions they seem to shorten out at the base.

This iron is great for the South with high humitity. I have hair that frizzes with the humitity and this iron helps keep my frizzes in check. I would recommend this product to anyone that wants to have their hair flat and straight!
Great flat iron....for 10 months!

I got the Chi 2" flat iron for Christmas last year from my husband and absolutely loved it!! Just about a week ago, it no longer heats up. It gets up to just a luke warm temperature and won't get any hotter. I don't know what happened, but the only thing I can think of is that it has a short in it. I am very disappointed because this iron hasn't even lasted me 10 months before it broke. I am going to try the 1" to see if it works better, but if it doesn't last longer, I will no longer buy a Chi iron. I will look at something worth the $100!!

Purchased this for my cousin's daughter who began college in Seattle. She needed the iron and loves the gift!! She is very satisfied. Thank you for your handling of the purchase and ensuring safe delivery of the product to her.

This was the first Chi I purchased, and I loved it! It worked so much better than a less expensive straightener. My Chi worked fine for a little over a year, until there was a short in it. The red light would start flashing or it wouldn't even turn on (the red light is suppost to be on when the Chi is on). It was extremely fustrating after how expensive this product is.

This is my first flat iron, but it is fantastic!! It heats up supper fast and my hair looks great - so smooth and shiny. So easy to use - and no getting my hair caught or stuck. I don't know what I was doing before.
Pretty good.

when I go to the salon my stylist uses that straightener. It works pretty good but it doesn't get totally straight, I'd take a picture but my camera got stolen. She said she bought it a year and a half ago and she uses it A LOT and it doesn't give her problems. So good on durability but not on getting curly hair really straight.
CHI vs Hairart flatirons

I was the proud owner of a HAIRART flatiron for almost 5-6 years, yes the same one, until its untimely burnout. I wasn't upset. As much as I used it over the years, I'm surprised that it didn't die sooner. However, for my next purchase, I decided to buy a CHI, the 1" plates to be exact and I must say that I like it, but I'm not in love with it. Something about the HAIRART plates made them compatible with whatever styling product I decide to use before I plate my hair up, but not with the CHI. Even when applying a light everyday strength building styling creme (Softsheen/Carson) to my hair just before using the CHI, it sometimes does not come out as luxurious as I know that it could be. Maybe I need to wait a while before making a final conclusion, but preliminarily, this is how I feel at the moment. Thanks for reading.

I really loved this straightener it worked really well up until two years after I bought it. There is a shortage in the cord. It turns off and on when the cord is moved. It makes me think it really isn't worth the money. But other than that it works pretty good. I might try a different one next time though.
Love the Chi!

I have very thick, naturally curly hair. The chi makes my hair look smooth and sleek. It eats up fast and gets the job done. Other flat irons I used in the past never got the job done. I highly recomend the Chi!

My first chi lasted for five years. I almost thought it might last forever. As usual all good things must come to an end. I didn't even consider a different or less expensive brand. I got right on line and placed my order for a new one.

I have been haveing a chi for a very long time. I had the first one I think that came out and it finally starting giving me trouble.. So I decided to get the new Turdo Chi.. I absolutly LOVE IT!! I live in the south so it is very HUMID and ladies we all know what that can do to your hair!!! With this iron it takes me about five min. in the morning to get my hair ready and stays looking GREAT all day.. So if you are thinking about getting a CHI you should it is worth every penny.

Works well with thick hair and I like the fact that you can adjust the heat setting. I have been using all of the Chi products for several years now. I have always been pleased.

I've had my chi for about a month and I love it. It leaves my curly hair perfectly straight, it heats up quickly, and is easy to use. It also doesn't burn my hair.
Does NOT get hot enough.

This would be a great iron for someone with half way straight hair. But i have VERY VERY curly, long, not so thick hair. IT DOES NOT GET HOT ENOUGH. it only gets to 350. It worked but took me about an hour, when it takes my hair stylist less than 25 mins. to do my whole head, with her iron that gets to 410. So i returned it for a hotter iron i think ima try the sedu. I'll let ya'll know how it works for me.
Heating problems

The first time I used the Chi Turbo 1", it worked really well. However, after subsequent uses, I've noticed that the iron doesn't heat up enough. I now have the setting on the highest heat setting available, and it isn't very hot. I have Asian wavy (manageably wavy) hair, and this straightener barely makes the cut. If you have thick, humidity prone hair, consider buying another straightener or the original Chi. I've used the original Chi several times (my friend owns one) and that one worked really well. However, my main concern was that the original Chi lacked temperature setting, and it was way too hot to use on a daily basis.
The straightener works better with the Chi iron guard spray. It keeps your hair straight (but not limp) no matter how foggy or sweaty you get ;-)
