I'm from Ireland and own a GHD which is the best straightener in the world. When i moved here to America it would not heat up fully because the power watts are different. I debated whether to buy a Solia or Chi, but i am so glad i bought this chi. It works the exact same as my GHD does in Ireland. It keeps my hair straight even in the humidity. Overall its excellent. Every girl should own one and this is a really great price for it.

i was so excited when i got it i jumped for joy and for good reason this thing is like the greatest tool for your hair. the only thing i don't like about it is how much it dries out my hair. im still looking for a product for that but besides that its perfect. also very hot so if your going to purchase one be careful.

my friends mom owns a hair salon and so i get ym haircut there she has these same CHI straightener. I have really curly hair and after i straighten it it just strats curling again. But not this stragitener my freind has her own and i always use it to straighten my hair. i have a criket and it does not work nearly half as good i just bought this strzaighener and it works great

My daughter has long, curly blonde hair and likes to straighten it sometimes. She had been using cheaper flat irons and we had heard that CHI was the best, so we ordered the "Original 1 Inch". What a mistake! The first time she used it, I could smell her hair burning, so needless to say, we will be returning this product and looking for one with a temperature control.

I must say at first I am a skeptical person in general.I have a sally beauty supply flat iron for years and cannot complain about it cheap but good. However lately i have been hearing about these expensive flat irons and how they work magic. After considerable amount of research ( and I really did do my research reading reviews about all of them) I went for the CHI iron. I figured that since folica guaranteed the product 30 days I might as well try it and compare it. Ladies it indeed works miracles. My hair is soo soft that feels like I just came from the hair salon and it took me less than 10 minutes.
I am aware about the iron not lasting long, but i figured that even if I get one year out of it I am satisfied because if I were to straighten it at the salon just 5 times a year it will cost the same, but having this i do not need to go and get it done ever!!!I reccomend it, and folica sent it fast and with two free gifts plus free shipping, Folica is great.

I have been straightening my hair for over 10 years now and this is the BEST straignening device I have ever used. I have VERY curly & wavy hair and I have never been able to find anything that gets the "kinks" out of certain problem areas but this does. It glides though my hair very easily and actually has somewhat shortened my morning routine. I have used other flat irons before and this is the only one that "glides" easily though without taking hair with it :)

ok, so before i bought the chi i had curly (ringlett) hair wich i fried by using a crap little conair thing. anyways, ive had my chi for about 3 months now and i would die without it, i bring it everywhere! i would totaly recomend this flat iron. ps. get a warenty, just in case.

i've havee this straightener for almost a yearr or more noww and i have to sayy i amm in love withh it<3 the only problemm is sometimes the red light doesn't come onn but i make it workk haha. andd im deffinetly buying another oneee cause i love it that much. all of my friends come over and love it so i'll probably stickk with it. the only problem is my hair gets curly really easy when its humid out and i haven't found a product to stop that but i'm going to try biosilk therapy and see how that goes. ;] but i recommend this straigtener to anyone since welll i love it and my hair is always pin straight<33

So i've read some of the bad reviews, and I feel some people are being a little dramatic. In middle school i owned cheaper irons, and basically i think you get what you pay for. Eventually i graduated to the CHI. I have had it for years and am still satisfied. The only reason i want another one is because now it's available in cute colors :).If you have naturally straight hair obviously you shouldn't spend $130 on an iron. But if you're an african american woman, or just have naturally course hair like myself the CHI is an excellent choice. It gets my hair silky smooth. But i am not a hairstylist...if you want salon results go to a salon.

I've had my CHI for almost 2 years, yeah it takes longer to heat up but it still works great. I've also dropped it 1000 times and it has never broke. This never damages my bleached blonde hair, and it looks awesome when its straight. I'm not sure if some of these other reveiws have the same iron as me because mine works great still after 2 years!

so im biracial and my hair is really curly (like little tight curls that are sort of a nightmare when my hair is dry)and where i live it is really humid during the summer so it gets even worse. i got this flat iron for christmas in 2004 but the day after christmas in 2005 (one year and a day) it stoped working. like another reveiwer said it would only stay on when the cord was in a certain position. so my "brilliant" idea was to super glue the base of the cord so that it would stay on. well it still broke. so if you do get this flat iron dont be rough with it. i've been using my fiends flat iron and it works great but it's not the same as the chi when i first got it. im considering getting a solia. i've learned not to wrap the cord around the flat iron. wrapping the cord around the flat iron might make packing easier when going on a trip. but in the long shot it is not worth breaking a really good flat iron and having to replace it wit another one. the chi might look tough but it is very delacate, so be careful.

The Chi iron is the best! I have straight hair but the iron makes my hair look as though I get it done by a salon daily.
