Product Rating: 1 Worst hair flat iron!
Reviewer: Anonymous from Michigan  Wed Apr 29 2009

I received this flat iron for Christmas, and it's the worse hair straightener that i've ever had. While straightening my hair, the chi turns off while i'm in the middle of doing my hair, so my hair statics like crazy. I get very frustrated every time that I use this product. I would not recommend this to any customer looking for even a decent flat iron. My wet to straight was better than this!

Product Rating: 5 still going strong 3 years later
Reviewer: Meena from boston, ma  Sun Apr 26 2009

I bought this product three years ago and it's still working great. I have really long, really frizzy hair and it smoothes it out perfectly straight. I sometimes have trouble straightening the hair close to my scalp, but otherwise, it's awesome. Still love it and will buy another of the same if this ever conks out... which I'm hoping it won't anytime soon!

Product Rating: 2 ruined plates
Reviewer: Steph   Fri Apr 24 2009

The plates have ruined and I have only had it for 2 months. They seem to be corroding, and it seems like it burns my hair colour off. I cannot even clean it after I have straightened my hair. No doubt it straightens well, but the plates should last longer than two months before breaking down.

Product Rating: 3 Great while it last...

Ever since I started straightening my hair I have been a Chi only type of girl. This is my third Chi because I dropped my first two and the plates popped out. I have always praised Chi for a wonderful product. Until, a month ago, it just stopped working. At first, it would take much longer to heat up and now it turns on whenever it feels like it. I would only take about 15 minutes to do my hair before (I have really thick/wavy hair) and now it take 25 minutes because I have to constantly mess with the cord for it to turn back on. The really disappointing part is that I got this Chi less than a year ago.

Product Rating: 4 its good...ok...
Reviewer: chi,15   Mon Apr 13 2009

i have thick frizzy coarse hair.the chi works really good. But the only thing is that it burns ur hair alot! So i had to use alot of silk infusion.
About a month ago i used the Remington Wet 2 Straight it took me about 2 hours to straighten my hair...plus it doesnt even last long...now i use my chi and it only took me 30 mins to straighten.
i would recommen this product to everyone.
also i would recommen the silk infusion....for preventing burning hair. :D

Product Rating: 5 Best flat iron out there!
Reviewer: jessica from Minneapolis, Minnesota  Fri Apr 10 2009

I love this flat iron! I bought it after my hair stylist suggested it. The only problem I had with it is that the cord developed a short in it and it quit working after 2 years. However, I've been told that if you don't wrap the cord around the body for storage, it should be fine. But still, I'm not complaining. 2 years is a really long time considering I used to have to replace my $20 conair flat iron every 6 months. This product is totally worth it! If you take care of it, it lasts a really long time, and it leaves your hair silky smooth and soft. Also, $72.99 for this flat iron is a steal! If you buy this flat iron anywhere else, you're going to pay at least $120.

Product Rating: 5 Best straightener I've ever owned!
Reviewer: Chris Kelley from Del Haven, NJ  Wed Apr 08 2009

I love this straightener. It heats up in less then a minute, and it straightens my hair in no time. And after I am done, it's shiney and healthy and I get lot's of compliments on my hair all of the time. I would recommend this Chi straightener to everyone and would definitely buy another one when needed.

The CHI is the best product that wont burn a hole in your pocket and it works!!!!

Product Rating: 4 Love it
Reviewer: Molly   Sun Apr 05 2009

I got my chi in july...so about 10 months ago. I got it because my friends use it and i know it works great on my hair. However, it quit working. It wont turn on and the reset button is broken. I'm not sure what the warranty is but i do plan on getting another one eventually. I still love chi's it just sucks that it broke!hey nothing lasts forever.

Product Rating: 5 Best Iron for professionals and consumers!!
Reviewer: Heather Haile from Paxton, Illinois  Thu Apr 02 2009

I've been a cosmetologist for 8 years and have used Farouk and Chi products for 5-6 years. I bought my first chi iron at a farouk show...I couldn't believe how well they worked and how shiny the hair was afterwards (of course you do need to use a heat protectant).

I have thick naturally wavy hair and it tends to get very "big" if I don't do anything with it. However, when I started to use the chi...I couldn't believe the changes. I use the chi shine infusion spray or the silk therapy to protect my hair. I have never "fried" my hair and hair has been through some stranges "color phases".

After using the chi iron..I convinced my salon owner to invest in farouk and chi products. They are a godsend!

This Iron is definitely worth every penny!!!

Product Rating: 5 I had a SEDU ....
Reviewer: YO from Milwaukee, WI  Wed Mar 25 2009

I had a SEDU flat iron that I had for about 2 yrs until this week it finally died. It only heats up to a warm temperature (unless I jiggle the toggle for the temp but then it gets extremely hot, hotter than ever so I think its on its way out) and today I just purchased the CHI Original Flat Iron. I've heard nothing but rave reviews on it so I figured for the price I should try it. 2 yrs ago, the SEDU cost me $105.00 and this original CHI is only $80.00. If it lasts me 2 yrs, I guess I'll be happy! I loved the SEDU but wished it would have lasted alot longer than 2 yrs. For those of you who said the CHI doesn't work, I believe you got a lemon!!! I would try and return it.

Product Rating: 5 Best one I've ever tried!

Product Rating: 5 I don't know how anyone could rate Chi/Solica lower than 5 stars
Reviewer: Tiffany from Chicago, Illinois  Mon Mar 23 2009

This is to rebut any consumers who have had problems with Chi and don't like the product. #1, if you use it everyday, of course your hair will be fried. Duh! That's a given with any heat product. #2 If it take you over 30 minutes to flat iron shoulder length hair, it's not the flat iron, it's you. Apparently you don't know what you're doing. I get my hair done at a shop that some would consider to be "high end" and even the beauticians there use Chi flat irons. So, I bought a pair online a year ago and I absolutely love it. I will never use another flat iron, besides Solica. Those two are perfect. Even my mom, who is appliance challenged, love Chi and Solica flat irons. Again, if you don't know what you're doing, ask someone, because there's no reason you should be getting bad results using this flat iron.

Product Rating: 2 DOESN'T LAST!!!!
Reviewer: Gail Maher   Fri Mar 20 2009

Bought this for my daughter for Christmas last year. Works great for about a year then it starts having electrical problems. I had read this in some reviews but ordered anyway. We have a department store flat iron that has lasted twice as long and is still going strong. Seems it only lasts until warranty expires then bites the dust.

Product Rating: 4 I'll Recomend! :)
Reviewer: jennifer from Texas  Fri Mar 20 2009

ok so i baught a chi a normal one not a nano! :D
when you straighten your hair it leaves it straight. I've been using my chi since November! :) Then I've Been straightning my hair everyday exept on the weekends. It has made it really puffy and frizzy after i take a bath when its wet!! its making my hair curly and ugly!!
im using it still but it dosent really straighten it how it used to! it straightens it but it lastes a little bitt!!
and it makes it all puffy! before it was really flat and pretty! :/
im starting to use dove therapy shampoo!
&& its repairing my hair!
:) i still use the chi though lol :D
So It Does Work But Don't Use It Everyday!
Even if you put the thermal protection spray!
WELL THATS MY EXPERIENCE!</3

Product Rating: 1 Horrible!
Reviewer: Shelly from San Fransisco, CA  Fri Mar 20 2009

Buy a Solia Pink Flat Iron! THEY ARE SO MUCH BETTER! I thought the CHI was going going to be great becuse of the reviews and when I did it on my hair, it started smelling really bad and took FOREVER to do, I couldn't even change the temp!!!! I am ANGRY that I actually bought and trusted Chi. Never again. I then bought a Solia Flat iron and because I can change the temperature, it totally made a difference! So ladies, beware of CHI products. I'm still mad.

Product Rating: 5 Great flat iron
Reviewer: "Anastasia Beaverhousen" from Kansas City MO  Wed Mar 18 2009

I have thin/fine hair that is color treated. Sounds bad, I know, but my hair is in good shape. Anyway, I was using a conair flat iron with adjustable heat settings and it was always just ok. It made my hair straighter, but it was never super straight and the ends were still "flippy" and would get snagged in the iron. I bought my CHI, but while waiting for my order to arrive I tried my bestie's new CHI. Holy Moses. My hair was super straight, and the plates are like butter! My hair slips right through, even the fine little ends that used to get snagged in my other iron. Since the heat is not adjustable, I make sure to use plenty of heat protectant. It's not a concern for me. If you have fine hair like I do, just make sure to protect it, make quick passes, and it won't damage your hair... goes without saying that, as with any heated styling tool, if you let in linger on your hairs too long, you will burn them. Duh. I've only had mine a few weeks, so no shorts in the wiring yet. We shall see. I kept the box, receipt, and all the packing slips just in case. This is the sleekest and shiniest my hair has ever been. I get compliments all the time now! Even my boyfriend, manliest of all men who washes his hair with soap (because I guess that's how real men do it... or cavemen... whatevs...), told me that this iron makes my hair look "hotter." LOL No regrets with the purchase of this iron! Oh, and always check retailmenot.com for coupon codes! I got 10% off my CHI. That website is like Heaven on the internet.

Product Rating: 5 love it
Reviewer: Brandy   Tue Mar 17 2009

I have thick-curly-frizzy hair and the chi works great. I read reviews saying they dont last and they go out. I have had mine for over 5 years and only need a new one now because my dog chewed up the wire. I love mine and will never use anything else

Product Rating: 2 Used it..I think it's cheap
Reviewer: Katie   Mon Mar 16 2009

When I went to a salon, I straightened my hair using a CHI while the Stylist worked. First of all, my hair is very thick, curly and frizzy. It did nothing to the frizz. It just added shine to my now wavy, frizzy hair. Another thing I noticed, the plates didnt even line up. It would always slide off and get crooked. It was poorly made. And the stylist said it was a newer flat iron. I never used this for a long period of time, but it's not worth your money in my opinion.

Product Rating: 4 GREAT!!!! but OVERPRICED
Reviewer: CHI user   Sat Mar 14 2009

I spent my own money on my CHI, and bought it at a deal of like 75 dollars... I think it is the best straigthtener ever, and i could not live without it andI will always buy another if it breaks, and it doesnt fry hair at all...BUT..That is kinda alot of money to spend on a straightener, so its overpriced, even if it is the best straightener ever, i would only pay 30 because its just hair, but i love it so much you can soo tell the dif when u staighten ur hair! and it doesnt make ur hair stick straight out in a pony tail like the others do!
