i just got my new chi. it is by far the best straightner i have ever used. i use it everyday. i have very curly thick and frizzy hair and the chi tames the wildness. it has left my hair feeling soft and shiny. totally worth the money!!

The chi flat iron is clearly overated. The on/off button broke after a year so the flat iron wouldn't work anymore. Plus, while it worked, i tried many of my friend's flat iron that would work 10 times better than my Chi.
What a waste of money!

I read reviews and did my research and I finaly decided that a chi was what I needed for my long, coarse, curly, frizzy hair.I ordered a chi hair straightener and couldnt wait to get it in the mail when it did finaly got here and i used it I couldnt have been more dissappointed! It straightened my hair but my hair looked horrible it was frizzy and burnt looking and to top off my horrible experience 2 hours later my hair started to curl and frizz! I would NOT recommend this product to anyone!!! It was a huge waste of money and I couldnt be more dissapointed!!!

Not good. Two have burnt out. One in less than a year and the other in two years (which i guess isn't too bad but for the price it should last longer). Starts smoking and smells bad and the on/off button stops working.
the chi is alright.

ive just gotten mine. it straightens my hair decently, but i dont see what the fuss is all about. there are many hair straighteners that are just as good or better. the one thing that bugs me about the chi is that while straightening my hair, it also makes it static-y

I have had my chi for a couple years now and have had no problems with it yet! keep in mind its all about how you care for your products. My hairdresser when I purchased it from her said that the only thing I should not do is wrap my cord around it because it will losen the wires and prevent it from working... SO.. DO NOT WRAP YOUR CORD and the product will last... im going on year 3 :)
BTW.. I have curly hair and lots of it and it cut my time in half
LONGEST LASTING!

I got my chi when I was in 9th grade....I am now a Sophomore in college! It worked amazingly up until I went to England and decided to try a cheapy converter and it blew :( I loved that iron! It made my hair look and feel shiny, soft, and I could do so many different things with it. The curls I could get were gorgeous! No matter what style you want to get, the chi is the way to go!
It was good until it just wouldn't turn on

i have been useing the chi for about 3 years now and i have had to replace 2 or 3 times because it just stopped working one day it does the job but isn't long lasting it doesn't have a heat dialer on it so you can't determine the heat. i just bought a andis flat iron 2day but haven't used it yet but i'm thinking about taking it back and getting a solia since i have been hearing such good reviews. it gets hair straight but i just wouldn't say it's the best flat iron you can use

ok so i got this in october and by early april it was broken & wouldnt turn on unless i holded down the actual hot part of the flat iron. it worked really good while i had it, except my hair would go super staticy a lot.
it def wasnt worth the 150 bucks i paid for it
The love of my life.

If your looking for a new straightener this would be my #1 recomendation.
I love it! I have THICK, frizzy, wavy hair and this made my hair shiny, soft, straight, and very managable.
I love it, and its very affordable.
what I love most, is that it keeps your hair straight for sooooo long! my hair stayed PERFECTLY straight for two whole days. thats increadible.
with my old striaghtener, I would have to re straighten every couple hours..now i do it once and im good for two whole days!
i love the CHI!!!<3
Disappointing!!

i had the chi and i absolutely loveddd itt!!
however, a few months ago i tried to plug it in & use it like a usually do but it wouldnt work. i tried different plugs in my house and even on different days!!! i had to use my old big fat heavy flat iron in the time being and it was just awful!!! so when they say 1 year warrinty they really mean it. . . I have curly hair, and it's really frustrating, because I used to straighten it with the conair infiniti, you know, the red wet to dry one, and it just made my hair big, frizzy waves, no matter what I did. At this point my hair was pretty long, but then I got a hair cut and chopped off all the length, last September. I got the straighter in May, I think, and it works great, it heats so fast, and even if I don't notice it, people compliment me on how shiny and smooth my hair is now. I have the original chi. It's amazing. :)
love it

I've had this straightening iron for... 4 or 5 years now. I've dropped it several times and it's only just starting to show signs of nearing the end of its life. Straightens pin straight with just a few passes, doesn't fry my hair, curls and crimps... what more could you ask for?

Everyone has been raving about the Solia, which is ok but not nearly as wonderful as the Chi! Makes my extremely curly, thick hair into a pin straight beauty! I totally recommend it to anyone who wants super straight, soft, and gorgeous hair(:
Not worth the money

It did a nice job in straightening my hair but it the iron DIED after I bought it 1.5 years ago. Of course the warrenty was only good for 1 year so I'm out...

The iron works great, when working! Unfortunately it doesn't last very long. I had mine for a little over a year then it quit working one day. A friend had one as well -- same thing happened. I would not recommend this product to anybody.

My first Chi lasted for 6 years. (Actually, it still works. It just doesn't get as hot as it used to.) I loved my iron, but I was convinced by others that the quality is no longer the same. That's when I bought the Sedu Flat Iron since it had such great reviews. After suffering from frizzy and dry hair caused by the Sedu for weeks, I decided it was time to order a Chi. My hair is now shiny and silky looking again. I am writing this review, so people don't waste their time and money (UPS charge) on another iron.
