I've had this straightener for about two years. after the first year it stopped working. COMPLETELY! i wouldnt turn on or anything! so then i had to mail to texas so i can i get a brand new one. after a week or so they mailed me a brand new one. and that was a year ago and i am still using the same one. dont get me wrong it works good and everything but i dont really like the way my hair comes out. so i think its time for me to upgrade.
it lasted 9 months

after about 9 months of almost everyday use with this flat iron, my friend was curling my hair and suddenly the on/off switch crumbled and fell off. There was no aparent reason why it did so, but now it doesnt turn on, i may be able to use a bobby pin to fix it but im not sure, i am very dissapointed in this product. If you want a good flat iron that will last you a long time i suggest a sedu or a solia.

I have bought 4 for 2 girls, they are constanly breaking. Looking for another brand. It shorts out very easily at the end wear the cord connects. I do not recommend due to the breaking.

I love love love this iron. had it for almost 4 yrs. still works perfectly and made my ultra thick frizzy curly hair sleek and shiny. And you can also use it as a curling iron for your ends it works really well.
good to bad

okay i got my chi(its pink) about two years ago and the first year it worked greatt! especially compared to my paul mitchell one. but over the past year it doesnt work so well..
i dont know if its dying out or if its not getting as hot or what but my hair turns out frizzy and 3 hours into the day its starting to wave. im so sick of it now i have even stated going back to my paul mitchell which is almost 4 years old. i use a straightener 5 to 7 days a week, so i guess that could be why. some people complain about there straightener going out within the first year, mine didnt necessarly go out but it definatly does not work as well.
also my mom complained about the price when she bought it (mine was 120) which i agree i think it is over priced for going out within 2 years. i wish i had looked more into it at the time but i was only 12.
now i think im going to ask for a hai this christmas cause my friend has one and it works reallly well:)
After 3 years it still works!

I have never had one problem with this iron, I've had it for over three years now and use it regularly in the salon! This iron leaves the hair silky smooth and the style lasts till the next day, unlike other irons that claim to do the same job, this iron really produces results. I love CHI products and give them all a five star rating.
Its okay

Its good for people with thin hair. My hair is thick and coarse so it doesnt work that great for me. If your hair is also thick and curly then i really dont recomend this iron. My hair gets fairly straight from using it but it just doesnt look healthy and shiny. ANd my ends loock terrible when i straighten my hair with the CHI!!! It really damages your hair if you have coarse hair in the first place. If you have fine hair then this would be a good product.
I FN LOVE MY CHI

Being a hair stylist...its on all day. And they take a hell of a beating...i have dropped mine on the marble floor at least 100 times and it is still in perfect condition...except for a couple of scratches. It would never "fry" anyones hair if people had the right knowledge as to how to use them. Don't know how.....ask a stylist! I highly recommend them for EVERY HAIR TYPE. always use a heat protectant first! they are simply the best and can not be beat!
it's good until it breaks

I was happy with my first chi 1" flatiron until it stopped working. There was a problem with the cord. I had owned it for about a year so I decided it must have been overused between myself and two teenage daughters. I purchased another identical iron. Low and behold after about 10 months the same exact problem. I can't blame it on overuse because my one daughter went off to college and I rarely used it.
When my oldest daughter left she purchased a solia. She loves it. Guess what I'm buying next? For close to a 100 dollar price tag, it should last longer than a year
Great results.....shoddy product

I absolutely LOVE my Chi, but they have SOOO many issues. After about 6 months the ON/OFF button broke off and had to use a bobby pin to get it to come on. Then THAT stopped working after a few days. I ended up buying a Sedu, which doesn't compare to a CHI. However, the cord and buttons work beautifully.
The makers of the CHI need to upgrade their standards for the price consumers are paying for a shoddy product.
LOVE IT

I borrowed a Chi from a friend years ago and loved it and since have loved it and refuse to use anything less than a Chi. Their dryers are great as well!
Chi is the very best!

I've never used any other hair straightener, however; I've never had to. I've had the same one since 2004 and it still works. I've bought 4 others for friends and family. They LOVE it too.

These flat irons are absolutely wonderful!!! I have perm on the tappered parts of my hair but not on the top where the hair is the longest. In between my salon visits (every other week) these flat irons with Chi silk works wonders, I am very pleased!!! I will be able to keep my hair short and get it colored without the breakage.
Great product!!!!

I have really naturally curly hair and am part black. I thought that the CHI worked okay. I beleive I have seen better, however it did work. Although two weeks after buying it, it stopped working completely! I asked someone that worked at folica and they stated that this is the norm with the CHI iron... Just FYI
Better than Solia!

I replaced my Chi when it broke after 18 mths - decided to try Solia because it had a two year warranty and a lot of great reviews. Umm... NOT A CHI! The Chi gets my hair stick straight - not even humidity can ruin it. I look like Chaka Khan after just ten minutes outside with the Solia. Confusing cuz the Solia supposedly gets hotter? Anyways - stick with 'ole faithful! I returned the Solia for another Chi AND am sending the broken one back to get fixed for only $35. I will never be stuck without a back-up straightener again!

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LUV my CHI!! It is the best flat iron ever!! i tworks so much better than the solvia or any other flat iron. my hair is thick and curly and it straightens my hair in like 30 minutes!! and u can contro the heat on my chi nano. u can get a stand to hold it while you are straigthing your hair. you can also get a pouch to hold it while its still hot if you are travling or at school or in a rush. I LOVE MY CHI! ive had it for 2 years and it still works good. DONT BUY A SOLVIA!!! BUY A CHI!!

WAY BETTER THAN SOLIA

I have curly, frizzy, thick hair. I had 2 Chi Flat Irons but broke them both. I decided to try the Solia Flat Iron after reading the reviews and seeing that it was hotter than the chi and had bigger irons. After using it once, I knew it was not even close to being as good as the Chi. It took longer, didn't feel as hot, and I didn't like the bigger irons. I recently bought another Chi and love it. It straightens so much quicker and is straight all day long. Don't waste your money on the Solia. Chi is the best straighter ever..and I have tried a lot of straighteners.

I had a cheap $20 wet to dry straightener, and it made my hair even poofier and frizzy. My friend loves to do peoples hair and talked me into letting her straighten my hair with her CHI. I was blown away! i hated straighteners because i thought they were all bad like mine. I have straight hair that is so poofy and has a little crimp in it.( its weird).Anyways it made my hair soo soft and straight and it didnt smell like it was burnt. It only took 30 minutes and i have medium length extremely thickhair. I couldn't stop touching my hair. I wore my hair to school and everyone gave me so many compliments even guys said they liked my hair! This is definately one of the best straighteners in the world, if you have a cheep $20 straightener than you need to buy the CHI. Some people say oh i had it for 6 months and it broke. that is because they porbably wrapped the cord around the straightener or dropped it. My friend has had hers for 2 years and it still going great.
