i used to use a $20 revlon flat iron, but it tended to pull my hair out.
the chi is nice and smooth and does not tug at my hair but glides smoothly over it. i wish it were cheaper, but hopefully it will last a few years!

After purchasing the CHI straightener, I started reading the reviews and was a little scared with the fact that most people were saying their CHI broke or they had issues with it burning out (etc.) As of right now I do not have a single complaint about my CHI...then again I have only had it for one and a half months so hopefully all will go well and I will be one of the lucky ones! I am definitely pleased with the price because everywhere else I have checked for the CHI have been very very expensive. It works very well on my curly hair...I am happy :)

Even though it seemed that this iron had gotten bad reviews, I still purchased it. It does work well. It does pull my hair sometimes and I am scared that the red light will one day not work and I will have to buy a new one. But over all, it works far better than others that I had gotten in stores.

I have had many problems since my purchase one mo ago. Having to reset the iron several times to generate heat is very frustrating. It's not just a plug in and turn on type iron. Fussing w/ it every morning has put a bad taste for me concerning this product. This will be my last CHI purchase.

I recieved my Chi Flat Iron and it wouldn't even turn on. I was very unimpressed. That is an expensive iron, and the quality of it was not what I payed for!

this item I got for x-mas is not working right it turns off and turns on this is the second on I get and the first one was no good it did not work at all the second on I have right now works some times and turns off I am having problems with it..

Couldn't be happier, I love my CHI iron because it makes my hair so soft. I love how the power switch is on the inside so I don't accidently turm it off while I am using it. I would suggest this iron to any of my friends.

A friend of mine had this Iron and I tried it and loved it. I have naturally straight hair but this iron is so great because it makes my hair shiny. LOVE IT

My husband got this flat iron for me for christmas. I absolutley love it. I use it every day. compared to the old cheap one we purchased at walmart well there is no comparison. I now have less fly aways and my hair is much smoother and shinny. Lots of days i feel as if I have been at the salon when i am still at the house. you certainly get what you pay for. I have had lots of people from work want to know who does your hair, what products do you use i just tell them the chi falt iron. thank you for saving my hair.

All of the people who say it is not a good straightner they are wrong. I love my CHI soo much. It makes my hair curl or straighten and it is softer and less damaged than with my old straightener!

I purchased my second model through folica.com and item was recieved in great condition! My first model lasted me 3 years (of which I extensively traveled) so it broke while in my luggage. I love this model because it's fast (I mean who wants to spend hours on their hair). I had issues getting it to turn on at first and thought it was broken...just after a month...but it was a false alarm. I guess I just had to reset it a few times.

Chi Irons are the best for longer or thicker hair. I've used other flat irons but none compare to a Chi. My hair is pretty long so straigtening used take me at least 30 min - 1 hour to straigten my hair, but not any more it only takes me 10 mins.
