Not So Great Anymore...
Reviewer:

I bought my CHI from folica.com about a year and a half ago because all of my friends were raving about it. At first it worked great but then after time it is not working so great. It takes longer and longer for my hair to straighten and it is drying it out more and more. I have used some of my friends straighteners that make my hair shiny, straight, and feel great. After reading all of the reviews, I am going to buy a sedu.

This flat iron only lasted me 4 months and damaged my once healthy hair. instead of getting this flat iron you should buy the Pink Solia one it works really well and doesn't damage my hair.
Short in cord

I really love my chi, but I have it for 1 year and the cord is shorting out. I have to shake it for it to turn back on. I think for the price of these it should definitely last longer then 1 year! I'm very disappointed with it.
Very happy

Best Flat Iron

I have owned my CHI now for 3 years and 9 months and it's great! I have had the problems with it shorting out but my husband has re-done all the wiring and put it back together and it works like new! This problem started after 3 years of use. I would highly recommend the CHI. It's a great value if you buy it from this website because I paid $198 in a salon. I just ordered myself a new one from this website to replace my old, tired out Chi.
Enjoy :)
not worth buying!!!

i had a chi for four years before it got a short in it and quit turning on. i bought another one thinking it was just old but within less than a year it also had the same problem...not just me by the way!! i have had several friends with the exact same problem-the irons will come on for a second but then just shut off & won't stay heated. i am currently in search of a better flat iron--i was going to purchase a ghd but i was given paul mitchell's newest ion style flat iron for my birthday so i'll try it out first- anything's gotta be better than the chi!!
I love it!

the chi works great and people say it dries your hair out but lets face the facts; EVERY FLAT IRON WILL DO THAT if you use it every single day. ive had the Chi for 4 years and it works the same as it did the first day i bought it!!!
Love my chi!

I've had a dozen of the Wal-Mart brand Nano and Ion type of hair straighteners that say they are as good as salon types!.. WRONG.. Chi is by far the best, where I live the humidity is awful.. My hair is never frizzy!!.. When I had the cheap versions of the chi it burnt my hair but after going over it w/ the chi it smoothed it all out.. And yes I do have color processed hair!!
Hubby bought Chi from this site

Hubby bought me the Chi 1" for xmas last year and i was kinda disappointed cause i found out he bought it online from a company i never heard of. As soon as we got back home i took it to my hairdresser before using it cause i was going to take it back and buy " the real CHI" and she said.. well that is the real one. I used it and I LOVE IT !!!!!!!!!!!!! i didnt think it was real cause of the cheap price but it is! Now i'm on this web site cause my sister wants one and told her to order here instead of going to costco today to buy one that is on sale there for 100.00 I have been very very happy with mine. You just have to remember to use a serum on your hair. I use one from my salon i go to but just make sure you use one. It protects the hair immensely.
Ok on my thin hair

The temperature depends on how fast you slide the plates down your hair. If you leave it there for a while it gets too hot and if you slide it through quick its fine. People whose hair fried need to learn how to use the chi. I have VERY fine hair and I dont protect it with any products and I never get split ends because I do it right. This is a high quality product and you do not need to grip the plates really tight or go down the strand slow because you are paying to NOT have to do that! I wish people would learn to use it right...
NOT WORTH IT!

Ive had lots of professional hair straighteners and decided to buy the chi, after like 6 months, it cuts out and doesnt work the way it did in the beginning. DEF NOT BUY THIS AGAIN. I never thought I would have a problem, but not it barely turns on, and I NEVER coiled the wire or anything bc that ruins it. NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY.
Won't buy again.

I have had two Chi irons. The first one I had was back in 2003 & it worked amazingly. I thought it was starting to burn out, so I got another one in Dec of 2007. It hasn't even been a year yet & it isn't anywhere near as hot as the first Chi I had. The quality isn't as great as it used to be. Please shop around.
Amazing, but doesn't last long!

i got this iron for christmas a year or so ago. I loved it! it's so much better than any other iron i've ever tried. it gets your hair wicked straight without the frizz and damage other irons leave you with. the only thing that isn't good about this iron, is that it doesn't last long. about a year after i got it, the red light wouldn't & heat up unless the cord was held or taped in a certain position. about six months after that problem (i would tape the cord so i could still use it) it completely doesn't work, no matter how you hold the cord. and now it even sizzles and sparks at the swivel. all in all, this is a good straightener, and i would invest in it if i were you, just be prepared to buy a new one every year or two.
Not Good

I have purchased this iron twice It works o.k but it doesn't last very long It won't stay on and i've had each one less than one year. I wouldn't purchase it again its a waste of money I need to find something better that will last.

OK. people..i have reah a MILLION review in a MILLION different webssites and evryone says CHI is horrible, so i just want to post this because its a shame that people spend this kind of money on horriible products without getting an opinion. Also i've read that people have tried to return them or get them fixed because they have broken and they cant...there is no service..im not talking about the website, this website is amazing! but it is hard or almost impossible to reach the CHI "company" and get a refund. This goes for all CHI straightner models, not only this one. ( and you cans see that these straightners are not made to last or not well made at all because they have to give away a watch to compensate for theur poor product quality..i dont even know why they are so expensive, i mean they trully suck. Also i've read that most people buy them because their stylist recomends it but then they buy it and its crap. SERIOUSLY, save yourself some money and first, READ THE REVIEWS on multiple websites and then just DONT BUY CHI products.
Hope this saves you some money (:

I bought the Chi iron after buying several different kinds of irons over the years thinking that I may as well try and spend more money to get a better iron than continually buying irons over and over. This iron is worse than a drugstore type. It is very cheaply made and it pulled and grabbed on my hair and I had to keep going over and over it to get it straight. I've tried many different products before and after hoping for a different result and just ended up with crappy looking hair and tired arms. Don't waste your money. I do recommend a Sedu.

Amazingly, today I went to a garage sale, and found a CHI! It was brand new, unopened and I only paid 5.00 for it! I was so shocked and couldn't believe my eyes! So, I tried it today, after purchasing a Sedu in June. It's funny because before I bought a Sedu, I was debating whether or not I should buy a CHI or Sedu, but a blessing, I have both! My hair is coarse and crazy, these straightener make me appreciate my hair more and they actually make me feel pretty! :)

The Chi is great for a few months but it has barely been 7 months since i got it and it has already quit on me. The light will not turn on or anything. I'm so mad i spent over 30 dollars for this. If u want a dependable flat iron don't get this one. I'm about to buy a different better one from Solia! But it does work very well for the first few months
