it works great on the straightning part but mine shorts out too much I HATE IT!!! don't waste your money!

i love the chi straightener, but i have had problems with it shutting off or not working after a certain amount of time. most recently, i had a straightener sent to me from folica that would not even turn on straight out of the box. for the amount of money you pay, the straightener should work for much longer than it does. it does work very well when it is working though.

i was given a chi as a gift a few years ago and it has been great; my mom was always trying to steal it from me so i decided to finally buy her her own! my hair always comes out very straight, soft, and smoot--but it can also make great bouncy-curls! i would recommend this flat iron to everyone: from people with almost straight hair (who just need to iron out the cowlicks) to those with coarse and curly textures. however, i would like to mention that it is extremely hot, so i try not to over use it in order to spare my hair the damage.
It's not much different really.....

I have been using an iron from Wal-Mart since I learned to style my hair so I was very excited to purchase this Chi. The first time I used it I didn't like it so much and I figured I just needed to get used to it but every time I've used it since I don't much care for it. It makes my hair have a lot of static and it doesn't straighten as well as my $20 one I bought. My hair still has a little curl. Maybe it's me, I don't know. I'll go back to my Wal-Mart one...

My new Chi heats up so much quicker than my $20 Revlon flat iron and is a lot hotter so I'm able to achieve great results much faster than the old one. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is b/c my first Chi worked once than stopped, so I had to return it. But Folica.com sent me a new one in two weeks and I haven't had any issues with the new one what so ever.

Hey just got my chi from folica and I absolutely love it!!! It works so quickly and heats up really fast...since im always in a hurry its perfect

I love this flat iron...not only does it get your hair silky straight but with a spiral motion you get the coolest spiral type curl!!! I kind of did it by accident but love the look of it...it can also just bend your hair for more "poof" near the crown of your head...really awesome product...heats up fast and very lightweight.

This flat iron is pretty good, but it doesn't make my hair soft and the next day my hair is dull and crispy and stiff. It does smooth my hair after blow drying, though. What I do like is that it can add a flip or bounce to the end of my hair. All in all, it's not what i expected.

I'm one to skimp and buy things cheaper and boy does it show. After asking my hairdresser why her iron makes my hair look so silky smooth, she informed me it was the type of iron. When I found out the name, I quickly looked it up on line and ordered one. It's worth the money. If you want smooth and shiny hair, buy the Chi.

I was a proud owner of a Chi for four years until my original broke. I would recommend the Chi to anyone I knew throughout those 4 years. Times have changed, and so has the Chi. About one month ago my original 4 year old Chi broke! I was so devastated, I couldn't believe I'd have to buy a new one and retire my one and only. When I finally bought a new one I noticed right away how much lighter and cheaper it felt. It didn't straighten my hair as well as the older one did either. I honestly used this Chi two times before it broke. It just wouldn't heat up anymore. So I decided to read some reviews about the Chi and noticed a few people mention another straightener, Sedu. I researched enough to convince myself to buy this product and I absolutely love it! I hope anyone who is really looking for a wonderful straightener doesn't stop when their hear about the Chi, keep looking! Seriously, you'll be so much happier with the Sedu's results.

I purchased the Chi flat iron from Folica at a great price. My cousin is an hairdresser and told me about the flat iron but she told me to expect to pay higher price. Anyway, I bought the iron and I absolutely love it.
It works wonder on "bad hair days".

i recieved a chi original model for x-mas 2007 i was excited because i have ben wanting 1 for ages.....i started using it the very next day and was impressed....but after the course of 3 weeks it stoped workin....wouldent turn on for notin i would not recomend it for anyone...

I hated this flat iron I bought it on Amazon and it fried my hair and all I did was straighten a couple of pieces and it fried it there was no temperature setting and based on all these reviews I heard it breaks easily but long story short don't buy this flat iron it's not worth the money not unless you get it for free then you have nothing to lose

I loved my Chi flat iron--for once in my life I had straight flat hair BUT a week later it stopped working! I got it working briefly but then it stopped again. Needless to say, I am very disappointed. I have ordered a different flat iron and I certainly hope that this one doesn't short out, too.

I love what this does for my hair. After I straighten my hair it lasts for day. Even if the weather is humid it doesn't make an impact on my hair as before. I would recommend this chi to any one.

I bought this iron thinking it would be perfect and was ready to spend money to get something good. I was disappointed because there is no temperature control and it gets super hot. I have fine, just wavy hair so I don't need anything that hot. It is in fact a fabulous flat iron as it got my hair SUPER straight and would probably work fabulously on someone with really curly thick hair.

This is the first flat iron I've ever owned, but I love it. I bought it on a recommendation from my hair stylist and the price is great on this! I had looked around a lot of different places and the price could not be beat. My hair is dark and permed and I just wanted to start doing a different hairstyle because I've had permed hair for years and frankly am getting sick of having to get perms and pay high prices for that. I thought why not take the money I'd spend on a perm and just get a flat iron.. I love having straight hair now and it's just so easy to do. The first time I did it my hands were completely tired and my eyes felt cross eyed from trying to see up on my head while watching the mirrors to get it done right. But after a couple of days trying it out, I got the hang of it and it doesn't take much time at all to get it done. Love it!

The CHI flat iron is a great flat iron. It makes my hair shiney and easily straightens. It sure does save me a lot time! The only thing that bothers me is that it sometimes pulls my hair out when a few strands get stuck in the framework. However, overall it is much better than the cheaper ones,

My hairdresser recommended this to me. It’s the one she uses. I bought it and I love it. It still snags my hair in-between the plates and plastic but not like the others. I like that fact that it heats up so quickly.
