Product Rating: 5 Best one I've ever tried!
Reviewer: katya from atkanta  Wed Mar 25 2009

Well, mine still works and it's been over 2 years now!
It's actually my husbands and now we both use it.They use the same brand in our salon too.
We use the original one.It does the work for the two of us and it's still working. We use it every other day.

Product Rating: 5 I don't know how anyone could rate Chi/Solica lower than 5 stars
Reviewer: Tiffany from Chicago, Illinois  Mon Mar 23 2009

This is to rebut any consumers who have had problems with Chi and don't like the product. #1, if you use it everyday, of course your hair will be fried. Duh! That's a given with any heat product. #2 If it take you over 30 minutes to flat iron shoulder length hair, it's not the flat iron, it's you. Apparently you don't know what you're doing. I get my hair done at a shop that some would consider to be "high end" and even the beauticians there use Chi flat irons. So, I bought a pair online a year ago and I absolutely love it. I will never use another flat iron, besides Solica. Those two are perfect. Even my mom, who is appliance challenged, love Chi and Solica flat irons. Again, if you don't know what you're doing, ask someone, because there's no reason you should be getting bad results using this flat iron.

Product Rating: 2 DOESN'T LAST!!!!
Reviewer: Gail Maher   Fri Mar 20 2009

Bought this for my daughter for Christmas last year. Works great for about a year then it starts having electrical problems. I had read this in some reviews but ordered anyway. We have a department store flat iron that has lasted twice as long and is still going strong. Seems it only lasts until warranty expires then bites the dust.

Product Rating: 4 I'll Recomend! :)

ok so i baught a chi a normal one not a nano! :D
when you straighten your hair it leaves it straight. I've been using my chi since November! :) Then I've Been straightning my hair everyday exept on the weekends. It has made it really puffy and frizzy after i take a bath when its wet!! its making my hair curly and ugly!!
im using it still but it dosent really straighten it how it used to! it straightens it but it lastes a little bitt!!
and it makes it all puffy! before it was really flat and pretty! :/
im starting to use dove therapy shampoo!
&& its repairing my hair!
:) i still use the chi though lol :D
So It Does Work But Don't Use It Everyday!
Even if you put the thermal protection spray!
WELL THATS MY EXPERIENCE!</3

Product Rating: 1 Horrible!
Reviewer: Shelly from San Fransisco, CA  Fri Mar 20 2009

Buy a Solia Pink Flat Iron! THEY ARE SO MUCH BETTER! I thought the CHI was going going to be great becuse of the reviews and when I did it on my hair, it started smelling really bad and took FOREVER to do, I couldn't even change the temp!!!! I am ANGRY that I actually bought and trusted Chi. Never again. I then bought a Solia Flat iron and because I can change the temperature, it totally made a difference! So ladies, beware of CHI products. I'm still mad.

Product Rating: 5 Great flat iron

I have thin/fine hair that is color treated. Sounds bad, I know, but my hair is in good shape. Anyway, I was using a conair flat iron with adjustable heat settings and it was always just ok. It made my hair straighter, but it was never super straight and the ends were still "flippy" and would get snagged in the iron. I bought my CHI, but while waiting for my order to arrive I tried my bestie's new CHI. Holy Moses. My hair was super straight, and the plates are like butter! My hair slips right through, even the fine little ends that used to get snagged in my other iron. Since the heat is not adjustable, I make sure to use plenty of heat protectant. It's not a concern for me. If you have fine hair like I do, just make sure to protect it, make quick passes, and it won't damage your hair... goes without saying that, as with any heated styling tool, if you let in linger on your hairs too long, you will burn them. Duh. I've only had mine a few weeks, so no shorts in the wiring yet. We shall see. I kept the box, receipt, and all the packing slips just in case. This is the sleekest and shiniest my hair has ever been. I get compliments all the time now! Even my boyfriend, manliest of all men who washes his hair with soap (because I guess that's how real men do it... or cavemen... whatevs...), told me that this iron makes my hair look "hotter." LOL No regrets with the purchase of this iron! Oh, and always check retailmenot.com for coupon codes! I got 10% off my CHI. That website is like Heaven on the internet.

I have thick-curly-frizzy hair and the chi works great. I read reviews saying they dont last and they go out. I have had mine for over 5 years and only need a new one now because my dog chewed up the wire. I love mine and will never use anything else

Product Rating: 2 Used it..I think it's cheap
Reviewer: Katie   Mon Mar 16 2009

When I went to a salon, I straightened my hair using a CHI while the Stylist worked. First of all, my hair is very thick, curly and frizzy. It did nothing to the frizz. It just added shine to my now wavy, frizzy hair. Another thing I noticed, the plates didnt even line up. It would always slide off and get crooked. It was poorly made. And the stylist said it was a newer flat iron. I never used this for a long period of time, but it's not worth your money in my opinion.

Product Rating: 4 GREAT!!!! but OVERPRICED
Reviewer: CHI user   Sat Mar 14 2009

I spent my own money on my CHI, and bought it at a deal of like 75 dollars... I think it is the best straigthtener ever, and i could not live without it andI will always buy another if it breaks, and it doesnt fry hair at all...BUT..That is kinda alot of money to spend on a straightener, so its overpriced, even if it is the best straightener ever, i would only pay 30 because its just hair, but i love it so much you can soo tell the dif when u staighten ur hair! and it doesnt make ur hair stick straight out in a pony tail like the others do!

Product Rating: 2 Dont do it!
Reviewer: OC girl   Thu Mar 12 2009

So, I have now owned my CHI for 3 years. Big mistake. I have wavy/curly/frizzy hair, past my shoulders in length. I used to have highlights in it, now I am back to natural brown. So you are probably wondering why I have had it for 3 years and gave it such a bad review. When I first started using it, I thought that it was incredible. Well, that was because it did straighten my hair. I had the HAI before. Didnt get hot enough to really smoothen my hair. So, now after having the CHI for 3 years, let me tell you, IT DAMAGES YOUR HAIR! It has taken me forever to try and grow out my hair. And now I am going to need to cut off 3 inches to get the healthy hair back.

This straightner will pull your hair at the ends, this is after using it for a while. And I take great care of my hair! I deep condition it once a week, dont wash it everyday and dont blow dry it everyday.

I am now going to try the Sedu, because the reviews. Really save your hair and dont get this. It is not worth it!

Product Rating: 3 Burnt out on the Chi
Reviewer: Curly Top from Huntsville, TX  Tue Mar 10 2009

I have used the chi for 7 years, and have gone thru 5. Plates have fallen off, and the cord always misses up. But it does straiten hair well so I have just forgiven it. If you get one, don't expect the life span to last. I will not buy another one. I think for the price, it should be better made and I've spent enough money on it. Will try the babyliss titanium.

Product Rating: 1 Very dissatisfied!
Reviewer: Ann from Maine  Tue Mar 10 2009

I had this straightener for less than a year and it quit. Too much money to pay for something that doesn't last. The same thing happened to my daughter's and my daughter-in-law.

Product Rating: 1 CHI is overrated!!
Reviewer: Brandi   Tue Mar 10 2009

CHI's use to be the best thing, but my opinion is they're getting old and not advancing. Don't get me wrong the CHI does straighten the hair. But there are many downfalls to this iron. One-it fries your hair, destroys it. Two-the plates get lose easy and will pull pieces of hair out (painful!). Three-they break easily. Four-there's no temperature adjustment, it gets way too hot for hair. And five-the plastic outside gets extremely hot, untouchable almost!
Its 2009, time to move on from the CHI! Once you try a FHI (my love) or the GHD (my new love, just to poor right now!) you'll forget about the CHI. CHI's a great company but they need to step up the technology and come up with a new, improved CHI! Come on Farouk!

Product Rating: 4 Its good but breaks your hair!
Reviewer: Michelle Walters   Fri Mar 06 2009

The CHI is a really good hair straightener, but it makes me have a billion split ends! Talk about grtting your hair cut like evry 2 months! It really does a good job of straigtening my hair, and really does a good job of BREAKING my hair at the ends! I reccomend it, but just be ready for split ends! by:Michelle Walters

Product Rating: 3 i have had 5 chis in 6 years
Reviewer: A from fresno,ca  Mon Mar 02 2009

I have had 5 chi's in 6 years. i have thick wavy hair and for some reason after a year they short out. Folica replaces them if it is before a year but my luck is it goes out at about 14 or 15 months. But i keep going back to them. Best straightener out there. Unfortunatelly they dont last... i have no choice but to keep buying them. Wish chi would fix this problem

Product Rating: 5 AWESOME

Reviewer: anonymous from Albuquerque NM  Wed Feb 25 2009

Igot the chi straighter a couple of months ago i have really thick, wavey, curly, poofy, hair. AT first it worked great but soon even with heat protecting spray it fried my hair now i have really damaged hair and had to cut it. I would not recomend this straighter

Product Rating: 5 Still working after 4 years
Reviewer: Sunny   Wed Feb 25 2009

My husband gave me a CHI for Christmas 4 years ago and I'm still straightening or flipping my hair every day with it. I've read lots of reviews that say the CHI only lasts a year. My stylist told me the secrets are to never use the on/off switch, just unplug the device, and to not wrap the cord around the body for storage. Apparently, the CHI problems are with the switch and the cord. Hope this advice helps someone!

Product Rating: 4 Pretty good!!
Reviewer: C.C. from California  Tue Feb 24 2009

The CHI is the best hair straightener I have ever had had! I have really frizzy hair and have tried 4 other hair straighteners before, but none of them would straighten my hair. After using it, it left my hair really silky and soft, but most importantly straight!!! The only negative about it is that it leaves some "fly away" hairs. But besides that it's great! I bought this last week and it got to my house in about 5 days, so it ships real fast!

Product Rating: 3 wow,it's horrible
Reviewer: ananomis   Sat Feb 21 2009

i can't belive what i had found out.My chi just broke a week ago and i had just had it for 3 months. my friend told me about it and i tried it but its horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! maybe it worked good on her hair since her hair was already straight, but i have big curly hair and it tok me 30 minutes to straighten my hair. and you would think if your paying 72 dollars it would be good but its not!
