i don't know why these other people are complaining.
i've had my chi straightener for more than a year and it works great. my hair hasn't dried out and its as healthy as ever. plus the straightener heats up in like 5 seconds and it straightens my hair in 15 mins. considering my hair is really thick and wavy. i defintely recommend it.
Not such a good product

I have long and wavy hair. Not only that but my hair is very frizzy. It the worst kind of hair. I borrowed it from my cousin. It worked horribly. I was so unsatisfied with the product. It is not worth the price. My flat iron i bought off a informercial works much better but not the best i want. I plan to get a sedu once i save up enough money. Word to the wise think before you buy i recommend the sedu.

I purchased the CHI because of the name brand. I read all of the reviews on all of them, but decided to go with the name brand. Big mistake...... First use it did not get hot enough to straighten my very curly hair. Luckily Folica has the 30 day exchange policy, I sent it back and got the Sedu, wow what a difference. Now that was money well spent. I believe that the CHI really does work, but you take your chances, it seems the quality is inconsistent. Belive the reviews you are reading, I should have.

I have had my chi for almost two years and i have never had any problems with it i have curly hair and i can straighten it in under ten minutes and it stays straight for days. my only complaint is that it dries my hair out a lot

just purchased my second chi like a dummy two weeks ago. at first i had the original ceramic iron and it stopped working...JUST LIKE THAT. i then bought the CHI turbo and after just two weeks its falling about. when its working it really is a decent iron but i have a feeling the makers realize that and because of desperation to find a decent iron out their they believe idiots like myself will just by another one like it isnt common how they fall apart. its cheap to make ladies (and getns) and ill be damned if i pay this much for another CHI. just so everyone knows Solia is suppose to be pretty amazing, have not read a single of 800 reviews saying it fell apart!

My Chi didn't heat very well after about 6 months of use. I sent it back and very quickly and easily received another one. When it does work, I love it.

i used to have conair... which used to work fine at first.. then it dried my hair and my hair wouldnt straighten anymore.... i dont care about my hair at all as to how it looks, if its frizzy or not... yet I just bought my CHI today... i went out and bought it to see whats soo good about it that its too expensive.... worked great... its raining right now... my hair isnt turning frizzy. i hope it keeps working ... but i still think its too expensive....just hoping that CHI works like this forever.... i feel like a princess right now :):P

This is the best hair straightener i have ever used! I have used every kind you can think of and none of them stand up to my new chi. I have curly/wavy hair so with my new chi it takes me only minutes to have my hair so straight and frizz free, i love it. It used to take me a half an hour to do my hair over and over again. Now my hair stays straight for days, its awesome.
love it

I got these straightners for christmas and after one month they blew up. I wouldnt recommend these to anyone because they dnt make your hair as straight as the GHD straightners i used regularly before!

I think that the CHI flat iron is crack for your head! It starighten's better than any other flat iron I have used and with just one pass through the hair! I would recommend this item to anyone, as a matter of fact, I have recommended it to a lot of friends!

after using the original ceramic chi for the past 3 years, i was disappointed in the quality of the new chi with the velvet over the plates...i am going to order another chi, but this time i am going to stick with the old one...the new one does not make my hair near as straight and does not keep it from getting fuzzy in the humidity...

Ok i heard that it works really, really well, and i was all excited to order it until i read one of the reviews on the person who had hers blow up in her face! Now i'm afraid to buy it cause i don't want it to blow up in my face!

My hair is very coarse and thick and hard to straighten due to all the split-ends and all. after i had ironed my hair with a really crappy iron by conair, my hair was straight but still bumpy and frizzy and overall, really hurtful to look at. my friend brought her Chi hair straightener to work and offered to straighten my hair. i figured it wouldnt hurt since i thought my hair couldn't get any worse. anyway, she turned on the chi straightener and in just seconds it was already heated up and she began to go at my hair. not even three minutes later she told me she was done and i coudlnt believe the results! my hair was silky smooth! it honestly, has never been that shiny, soft and straight in my whole life! i recommend this to all girls who have untameable hair like i used to have. Chi Rocks!

My stylist used the Chi on my hair and i was truly amazed. My hair is completely thick and always puffs up no matter how I try to fix it, but the Chi made my hair stay down all day! It never puffed and I got tons of compliments. I have a Conair flatiron but whenever I use that my hair is puffy by lunch and I look like I have an afro. The Chi is the only flatiron that will calm my hair. So, I say 5 stars!
Finally flat!

I find it quite funny that people see advertisement or sit in a salon chair and think that there salonist when using the chi is making there hair wonderful. Try asking them what products they are using in addition to the chi. The technology for CHI is basic technology. They just started out with heat variations when it was just one heat setting.
I hate to admit it but the person who purchased the GOLD N HOT FLAT IRON, HOT TOOLS for anywhere 49. to 89.00 dollars has a better iron than the CHI owners.
IT'S GREAT!

I recently tried a CHI for the weekend! It was amazing! My hair has never been this straight! I have VERY curly hair and it takes me forever to get my hair straight. NOT FOR LONG! I was so impressed, I found this web sight and I am ordering my own ASAP! TRY IT - IT REALLY WORKS!
