1 in. is for shorter hair.. or at least it works better. 2in. works better for long hair. if you have long and thick hair, i reccomend the 2in. if it is shoulder length short i reccomend the 1 in. even though you have wavy, thick hair. if it is like 2in. over your shoulder (mine) i would get the 2in. so, to sum it up w/out being confusing, unless you have shoulder length hair, get the 2in. i hope that helped! | | Reply by Philly gal

No way, I totally believe go for the 1 inch, particularly if you want to get to the very top of the hair shaft. Also, the 1 inch allows you to curl your ends in better, if you are interested in that option. Although, I must say, I've only used the 1 inch and have never tried the 2 inch. The 1 inch is amazing. Just remember, bigger is not always better! Good luck! | | Reply by bobby

well obviously the diff. is that one is 2 inches and the other is 1 inch duh. for wavy hair i would get the 2 inch turbo. | Chi turbo or Sedu?
I have been looking at reviews and I can't decide which one would be better. Anyone who has had both have any suggestions? Sedu or Chi? Question posted by Joana Sat Apr 08 2006 Submit your answer Can I use my Chi Straightener in Europe?
I am traveling to Germany/Italy and Spain. I want to use my Chi. If it is 110 and, I think 220, compatible, I can simply put an adapter onto the end of the cord and use it over there the same as I do here, but I need to know if it is capable of handling the 220 current in Europe.Thank you Question posted by Carri Mon Apr 03 2006 Submit your answer | Reply by Customer Sevice

No, you can not. You need a straightener that is designed to work with 220V in european countries. | | Reply by Julia

Hi, I'm actually in Spain right now. I use my chi basically everyday beacuse it works so well. Yesterday it broke and I took it to an enigineer I know and he told me that it can only be used in North America. Adapters work but will only cause it to break just like mine. If you are going on a trip buy a straightener just for that country. I know, it sucks. | | Reply by Beverly

I wouldn't risk it. I travel to Europe a lot and blew quite a few compatible curling irons before I purchased one over there. They really aren't compatible. | | Reply by Suzanne

According to info@farouk.com
"The CHI appliance is not made to be used with an adapter or converter. The CHI appliance that is made to run on 110V will be damaged if use in a 220V environment. Purchase the European version of the appliance which is made to run on 220V." | | Reply by Jade

i'm in london, uk and i had a friend from america come over here for vacation. she's got the same exact chi straightener and we just let her use a proper voltage converter and it worked fine...just a normal adapter would simply toast up everything. | Chi vs Solia
I have heard different opinions on the results of the CHI vsSolia flat irons. Spending this kind of money I want to know which one really is the best. Could someone please reply. Thanks. Question posted by Gayle Mon Feb 27 2006 Submit your answer | Reply by lisa

360 | Does this straightener keep your hair staright all day?
does this straightener keep your hair straight all day? my hair is wavy and kinda frizzy. i've been having problemns with this in the past, my straightener straightens my hair very well, but after awhile the ends of my hair flip in/out. i don't want to spend so much money on a straightener that won't work on my hair. I used to have the same problem as you when I did not have the CHI 2in. But when I got it and used it for the first time, my hair turned from frizzy to stick straight! A year later it still makes my hair stick straight. Also even in the most humid and rainy days it keeps your hair as straight as ever. The CHI is worth the money. | | Reply by anonymous

This straightener works wonders. I had a 2" straightener from Sharper Image, and although my hair was straight right after I flat-ironed it, it poofed up instantly. With the Chi, you can be certain to have sleek, frizz-free hair even in humid conditions. | Will they quit after a couple weeks??
I have read some of the reviews, and im thinking about buying a chi, but they say the chi's quit working after a couple weeks. Plus i have short thick hair so im not sure if it will work well. So im not sure if i want to buy one. Please help me Question posted by Kristin Sun Jan 22 2006 Submit your answer | Reply by Michelle

No, the CHI will not quit working in a couple of weeks. I have had my CHI for over 2 years now and it works like it is still brand new. But instead of buying the 2in., I would buy the 1 in, since you said your hair is short and thick. The CHI 2in. might be harder for you to straighten your hair since your hair is shorter, but the 1 in. is easier because it is smaller and weighs less. I also had a friend that had the the same problem as you(short and thick hair),but when she found the CHI 1 in. her hair turned straight(and it looked good!) I definitely recommend the CHI 1 inch. | which kind?
I have frizzy, subtly wavy hair. I have tried other irons and they worked fine but I never have had the exact results I wanted, and I usually have to go over my hair more than one time. I've never used a Chi before, but my friends that have it say it works great. My only concern is what size to get, I really dislike the crease the bigger irons leave at the top of your hair but the small ones seem like they take too much time. Any suggestions? Thanks. I suggest to use a 2" iron. the small 1" loose the heat by the time you reach the ends which means you have to go over again. the reason you get creases is because you might be using thick partings or to much hair at one time. also you might be adding to much pressure on the iron which snages the hair and creates creases. I have curly frizzy hair and with one stroke i get shiny crease free straight hair. and dont past the iron through your hair so fast use two second countings which means not to leave the iron on the same spot for more than 2 second. just slide it down in a 1 2 1 2 1 2 pase | | Reply by anonymous

I've never owned the 1", but since you're hair is just subtly wavy, I suggest using the 1". It depends on how long you're hair is, though. If it's past shoulder length, you should get the two inch, and if it's above shoulder length, the one inch would be fine. | Does it Damage your hair?
I'm thinking about getting a CHI... but I don't want to spend all that money if it isn't worth it. I have a $40 straightener (jilbere de paris) from Sally's beauty supply, and it works really well but it's giving me split ends, and damaged hair. I heard teh CHI doesnt cry out yoru hair like that, anyone who has used this product, does it give you split ends? Question posted by Cara Mon Dec 12 2005 Submit your answer | Reply by Ang

heyy um actually no it didnt do anything bad to my hair...since i have frizzy and really thick red hair, it made my hair look like it was naturally straight and smooth and silky and that is what i definetly want from a straigthener and i found it with the CHI... | | Reply by Heather

I have used a CHI on my hair for over a year and my split ends are actually better than before I started using it. It seals the moisture into your hair unlike most of the other straightners I have tried. |
