my question is what is the difference between a 1 inch and 2 in.....is a 2 in better for thicker longer hair or for people who are always in a hurry.....which would you buy? I'm a bit confused...my niece has a 1 inch but I'm just trying to get the better value...thanks in advance. Question posted by linda Sat Jan 20 2007 Submit your answer | Reply by Raluca

the 1 inch is better if you have shorter, thinner hair and the 2 inch for thicker, longer hair. i have longer hair that is super thick and very wavy/curly. it does what it wants and i think the 1 inch does nothing for me yet i love my 2 inch it gets the job done in 20 minutes!
good luck! | CHI use with product in hair
I wanted to get the CHI to use on my very curly hair the day after i washed it. It will have left over mousse in it and im worried that this will effect the ceramic and my hair. Can i use the CHI without damaging both? Question posted by Christine Thu Dec 21 2006 Submit your answer | Reply by AMY

yes, i have the exact same kind of hair and this straightener is the best thing ive ever bought.. it will work for you. but just a tip.. it sometimes doesnt always leave your hair straight for a super long time.. so it helps if you use a brush when you staighten it and spray a little hairspray on the brush and then run it through your hair.. it deffinetly worked for me! hope i helped! | | Reply by Felisha

I have the exact same hair and its past my shoulder blades. I have had the chi turbo for about 7 months and it has never kept my hiar straight for more than an hour or two and still frizzy. I even tried putting in products after to tame the frizz and straightening it several times throughout the day but it still ends up wavy and extremely dry. I recently bought a straightener called the ISO and it only takes one pass through each section of hair to straighten, and it leaves my hair soft and shiny and flat as ever with no products. | How hot does it get
Can somebody tell me the temp it reaches?I cant find it anywhere? Question posted by Tara Tue Oct 24 2006 Submit your answer | Reply by Jersey Girl

This CHI iron has an adjustable range (on the side of handle) from 100 - 410 degrees. You have to be carefull not to use a setting to high, my sylist gave me the following guide:
300 - fine hair
330 - thin hair
350 - normal hair
370 - wavy hair
410 - thick/ coarse hair
Hope that helps! | | Reply by kelly

i HIGHLY RECOMEND U THE 2' SINCE YOU CAN DO SO MANY NEW TRICKS WITH YOUR LONG HAIR. WITH THE 2' YOU CAN DO 3 THIGS IN ONE. HAVE FUN WITH YOUR HAIR AND TAKE GOOD CARE OF IT. | Latch on 2" Chi
I have two questions regarding the 2" Chi...My only problem with it so far is that the "latch" on the inside of both handles gets caught in my hair...and I'm just a little confused as to why it's there anyway...I can't see that it serves any purpose...I can't get the two sides to latch in together...can anyone???Secondly, when I first plug it in the light is steady...then it starts to flicker...is this normal?I have shoulder length hair that is thick with loose curls...I always blow out my hair first so I can style it, then I let it cool down, then I use the Chi to keep it from getting frizzy during the day...and it really really does work... I have been using chi for well forever, the light flashing is normal. | | Reply by kelly

the light flickering is normal.. when you first plug it in the red light comes on to let you know that it is on.. and then once it reaches the designated tempitature you set it at.. the light will flicker to let you know that it is ready. | CHI or FHI
if anyone can help me PLEASE DO. I'm debating on the Chi turbo 2" and the FHI platform. I live in southern louisiana, and, needless to say, its HUMID. my hair is about 3 inches below my shoulders, thick, wavy, and frizzy. i need a straightener that will get the frizziness out mainly and keep it out all day, even with this weather. buy chi!! use it with infusium 23's leave-in conditioner --- W_O_W! you will not believe it's your hair not poofing out as soon as you step outside. worth every single penny! but always start out low and move up -- you should only need two swipes through each section of your hair -- good luck! | | Reply by Kerrie

I live in Louisiana too and we have the same hair type. My hairdresser used the Chi Turbo 2 on my hair and I was amazed. No frizz and stayed straight for days. She said that buying the Chi Turbo 2" was the only iron she will ever use again after trying many different brands. Using it is easy and I highly recommend it. | | Reply by KCMay

In addition to the iron, try using an anti-humectant on your hair to keep the excess moisture out. I recommend Aveda's Brilliant Anti-humectant. | 220volt or 110 volt
i keep going to asia and europe kindly help wither the CHI 2' works on 220 volt also? Question posted by ravi Tue Jun 27 2006 Submit your answer | Reply by mridula new jersey

Not Sure that all you need is an adaptor. You need a converter aswell. But the problem is, that most travel converters are not powerful enough for items that use 220v. | ?
I have slightly longer than shoulder-length, sometimes frizzy, thick and wavy hair. I was thinking about getting the CHI turbo 2", but i'd be straightening my hair almost daily so, how long does the iron last? Question posted by Madison Fri Jun 23 2006 Submit your answer | Reply by anonymous

I've had the Chi turbo 2" for about a year, and it shows no signs of slowing down. I also suggest that if you have just wavy hair and it is about shoulder length, you should get the 1". | chi original 1 inch
i just bought the chi 1 inch original but then i saw the chi turbo 2 in. i was wondering would the turbo be better does it have a temp. control cause the original doesnt and it gets very hot and i burned my finger touching my hair and also can u touch the turbo on the outside with out burning ur hand. also if i was to buy it here would the warranty be ok. cause on the original said u have to buy it from a solon not on the internet? also does any body know how to curl with the chi? thanks Question posted by ineedanswers Mon Jun 05 2006 Submit your answer | Reply by anonymous

The 2" does have a temperature control, and it is true that the red velvet on the outside of the Chi Turbo prevents you're hands from burning. I definitely suggest the turbo 2" because it does an amazing job and it protects you're hair from damage that the original doesn't. |
