If your hair is long and thick, you must get a 2 inch! My hair is like that too. But, it's important to use good heat protectants with your Turbo CHI. I would recommend the CHI line of products, because it works well if all of your products are of the same brand. But, many others will work well too. DO NOT USE BIOSILK! There will be alcohol in it that will dry out your hair.

I think you should get a 2 in if your hair is long and thick because I have natural curly hair and it is thick and I love my 2 inch it takes less time than a one inch ever did.

I would definitely suggest the CHI Turbo 2". I have long, really thick wavy/curly hair. I had the Original for a few months, and after a few hours I would have to re-straighten my hair. I got the turbo and I usually only have to straighten it once (maybe twice) a day. It did wonders for my hair and I've had it for 4 months now, and I still love it!

I had the same question as to which 2" to buy, too...someone else had written that they CHI Ceramic Flat Iron Turbo 2 has a latch that catches your hair. Does the Big Chi 2" original have this "latch" too? I am still not totally understanding the difference between the two? Does the turbo have a higher temperature range? Thanks for any insight anyone can provide!

I DON'T KNOW
I don't know which straightner to buy?!? I have medium length wavy hair and I am trying to decide to buy this Chi 2" Turbo. With the other reviews it looks like they break a lot so i don't know what straightner I need --> is this a good straightner for my type of hair...and is it worth the money??

Yes, it is worth the money. I have long curly hair and the Chi 2" makes my hair straight. I bought my Chi about 2 and a half years ago and it still works! Buy it!

You know, I had the SAME problem when i was thinking to buy this. When i read the reviews a lot of people were like, oh mine breaks. but, i found this AFTER i bought it. I'm glad i did. Because if i had known before, I wouldn't have bought it! Don't worry. The CHI does not break unless you misuse it. A lot of people coil the wire around the chi when they put it away. That spoils the wire and makes it break. Just, don't abuse it and it'll work great. I would really recommend the Chi 1" or 1 1/2" because short-medium hair is easier to straighten, and 1 or 1 1/2 inch are meant for that type of hair. The 2 inch might provide excess heat for your hair and damage it. Buy the 1 1/2" CHI. You will love it! Happy straightening! :]

Sedu or Chi
I have really curly hair that is about six inches below my shoulder that right now takes about hour to straighten w/ my Paul Mitchell iron. I want to buy either a sedu or chi in a larger size than 1 inch. I know that the Chi does not have as a high temperature as the Paul Mitchell or sedu so will it work for my hair? Which one will take me less time and do a good job than my iron now?

question about the light
I just bought a "chi turbo 2in", and whats happening is that when i turn it on, say to high temp, the light turns on and then it starts flickering, and i know this is normal because that means that its ready to use, but then say i lower the temp the light turns off, and i think that means that its already in that temperature or higher, but im not sure because my sisters have their own "chi turbo 2in" and this doesn't with theirs. so im confused, i dont know if to send it back in to get another one or what. can somebody clear this up for me???????????? please!!!!

The same thing happened to me. I paid too much money for this to happen. I am sending mine back for a new one, if this happens again, I am going to get a different style.

I'm sorry you're having this problem! If it's the 2 inch Turbo CHI, then I MAY know what the problem is. On the part that you plug in, there's a red button and a yellow button. MAKE SURE THE RED BUTTON IS PUSHED ALL THE WAY IN! Because if it's not, your straightener wont turn on! i hope i helped! :]

How long does the straight hair last?
When I usually straighten my hair, it comes un-straightened very easily. I see other people who straighten their hair and it doesn't come undone, even if they are active or if it is a hot day. My question is when you use this straightener, does your hair stay intact?

Well, this is a very good quality straightner and it will help your hair stay intact but for most people it depends on what type of hair they have. Your hair should stay straight till you wash it. However at night-time hair does curl a little because you move around. This requires that you straighten a little bit in the morning.

should i??
I have thick frizzy damaged hair with split ends. Every time i straighten my hair it feels rough and dry its disgusting. And its poofy and frizzy!!! I hate it!! Right now I have a conair straightner and i was wondering if switching to a Chi or a Sedu was better for my type of hair?

conair is one fo the worst brands of hair straighteners you could buy it tends to damage hair alot. chi is one of my favorites becasue it leaves my hair smooth..but if your hair is already severly damaged i dont suggest you straigheten your hair for a while you should give it time to heal otherwise no straightener will do antyhing...also maybe try some placenta tratments for your hair to help it but by the way you explained it your hair seems extremely damaged and i would just not straighten it or a while or dye it either becasue all that kills your hair.

Yes! Conair straighteners are horrible - I used to have one, but I switched to Chi since it was frying my hair and pulling it out.

My hair is naturally prone to dryness and damage. The CHI is better all around. The Conair, like several "lower end" tools, puts heat on the outside of the strands, while the Chi heats and straightens from the inside out (which in turn transmits the heat evenly through out). Get rid of the Conair you've stripped your hair of its natural luster! I recommend going easy on the shampoo and buying a Joico K-Pak conditioner for repairs. - To style, Matrix has a line called "Sleek" which does miracles for my hair! Hope I could help! If you have anymore questions I'm a guru with flat irons!

My daughter has hair down to her waist and it is very, very frizzy and curly. She uses the Chi and it stays straight for a whole week or less if I wash it before and it works great. I recommend it.

Either will do. 2 inch model may work faster.

Hey i know that you may not want to take advice from teens but what i have to say is actually helpful. Ok if your hair is long but thin i'd say maybe a CHI Turbo Ceramic Flat Iron o.7 in. Because your hair is wavy and long, the turbo gives it that extra heating strength for better results. However because your hair is thin you only need the o.7 inches. It doesn't take much power to straighten thin hair. Good luck and happy buying!!!

1 inch Chi - good for short relaxed hair 2 inch Chi - good for medium/long wavy/curly hair
