My friends all have Chi's and I know they work well but my hair is kind of fine and doesn't have a lot of volume. Would the Sedu or the Chi be a better choice for me? Question posted by Meredith Sat Mar 11 2006 Submit your answer | Reply by nicole

I too have thin hair. I have a CHI. But, don't recommend it. Get something cheaper. (but, stay with a ceramic) Also, what helps me. If I only straighten the top layer of my hair, I have volume that lasts. | CHI vs. Solia
Which is better for curly frizzy about bra strap length hair the Chi turbo 1" or the Solia 1-1/4"? Question posted by Aisha Tue Mar 07 2006 Submit your answer | Reply by Nicole B

Go with the 1 inch in whichever you buy. Its so much easier and works just as well and fast. Make sure you look at customer reviews also before purchasing a product. I wish i had! | How do you curl
I heard you can curl your hair with the Chi Straightener, but I'm not quite sure how. I did something the other day but I want to see how other people did it just to make sure. Question posted by lauren Wed Dec 28 2005 Submit your answer | Reply by Virginia

Place the irons about 4cm from the scalp grasping the hair and then, using a twisting action with the wrist, slowly turn the irons rotating while wrapping the hair around the iron. Slowly pull the irons around and slide as you go until the hair slips just off the ends.

Hello. i came across your quesion and even though it was from December 2005 i see nobody ever answered you. My name is Natasha and I am a hair stylist and have been for 7 years. My salon lives thrives off of all farouk products. With the chi straightener you can curl your hair as follows: Take a few patches of hair at a time. Approximately half of your fore finger length and curl it in the form of a spiral (SHIRLEY TEMPLE CURLS). Be sure to start the hair from the tip and spiral up to your scalp and hokd it there for approxiametly 15-20 seconds (BE SURE NOT TO BURN YOURSELF) and loosely pull the chi down in a spiraling position and WAA LAA....BEAUTIFUL SOFT CURLS. this will goves you a full bouncy look. And if you just want some loose flowing curls follw the sme direction except do not spiral the curls. Curl them as you would with a curling item.
GOOD LUCK and I hope this helps
Bye now

Philadelphia Salon | chi vs turbo chi
i have a regular chi and i have had it for about 4 years, and I think i need to get a new one. i wanted to know if the turbo chi works better than the original chi. Question posted by Tiffany Fri Dec 02 2005 Submit your answer | Reply by Lilac

CHI Turbo has temperature control whereas the original does not. I personally like original better I think it works better. | Fine frizzy hair
I'm in the process of doing research to determine which flat iron to get. My hair is fine, color treated, and also frizzes, especially with the florida himidity. Is this chi going to help when I go out in the humidity? I don't want to use a lot of product because it makes my hair even finer... Also, is it damaging to hair to use regularly? NO NO NO! Do NOT attempt to straighten your hair wet with the chi, not only will it steam like mad, possibly burning you, it will cause horrible damgage to your hair. | International travel use
I travel overseas and can't get my CHI to heat up with my converter. Don't know if I need a converter or not. Any suggestions for using it overseans? Question posted by Pat Richardson Mon Jul 25 2005 Submit your answer | Reply by Heather

If you are using an adapter, it won't work. If you are using a converter you have to make sure that you get one that is especially made for devices that heat up. Regular converters won't give you enough power to heat an iron. | | Reply by Becky

be careful using it overseas... i used mine in australia with a converter/adapter for "heat-producing devices" and it blew the first time i used it!! | | Reply by ellie

I tried using a heating appliance converter and adapter system for my CHI in Russia, and it got fried and died. I even checked the wattage range of the converter, but no luck. I recommend getting one of those palm-sized revlon models that has dual voltage 110/240 volts for overseas travel. They are not as good as the CHI, but will save you the expense of buying a new CHI, which is what I am doing right now. | | Reply by zee

i would not advise you to use it overseas with an adaptor. mine, as well as my friends burnt out when we did that!! | My Chi won't turn on!
Well I've done everything to the reset button, turning it on and everything but it just its light just isn't flashing at all. I don't know what to do cuz I paid so much money on it I don't want to just send it back. Any tips? Question posted by Loren Sat Jul 09 2005 Submit your answer Chi Turbo VS. Chi Original
