It doesn't say if the Chi Turbo is 100% ceramic plates or just ceramic coated. Can you tell me which it is? Also, does it guard against humidity and keep your hair frizz free? Thanks! Question posted by Cece Sat Jun 23 2007 Submit your answer | Reply by Monika

I know that it is only ceramic coated. the FHI Runway is all-ceramic plates though. | How to fix it
I don't ever blow dry my hair before I straighten it & my hair is always frizzy & dry after. Help? Question posted by Laurel Sun Dec 17 2006 Submit your answer | Reply by Patricia Sloan

Hi i've used the Farouk CHI for about two years now and i have the perfect solution!!! I know from your question that it sounds like you do not like to blow dry your hair, but that is very helpful. If you do not use moisturizers and serums for your hair already, i definitely reccomend it. If you put moisturizers in your hair before you blow dry it, then it is nice and soft once you finish your "flat ironing." Good Luck! | what's the difference with Turbo?
Just wondering what the difference is between the original and the turbo? Is it hotter? Does anyone know? What's the deal? Question posted by Erin Mon Nov 13 2006 Submit your answer CHI turbo

kinda. on the turbo it has a variable temperature change so you can change the temperature on it. on the original it just goes to one temperature. but they both straighten your hair about the same | Can this work a man?
Well I'm a male college student and I've decided to grow my hair out...currently it is only a little bit over 2 inches after I cut extremely short because of the hot TX weather...however, I was wondering, how long does my hair have to be to use a hair straightener, and is this 1 inch plate from chi the best one available? I have thick/wavy hair mainly in the back. The fronts and sides are not as thick or wavy...I can manage to control them pretty easy actually, however, I want my hair to be straight and smooth as it grows out. Ladies I need your help, and I truly appreciate it. Question posted by college dude Mon Sep 25 2006 Submit your answer | Reply by Ricki

Chi makes a smaller flat iron for men or women with short hair. I think it is 1/2" or something like that. | chi overseas

Do not try to use your chi overseas!! I had a friend who studied abroad in Italy about a year ago, and she ruined hers by trying to use a converter. Not only did it not work, it almost caught on fire. | | Reply by Jules

not sure if you're in Italy yet or not, but I just returned from an extended stay in China and I took my Chi turbo along for the ride. All was well for the first couple of weeks, but voltage converter I used shorted out and my iron wasn't receiving enough power. I learned this by testing both the converter and the iron on a voltage meter. Unfortunately after this, my iron wouldn't turn on again (even after buying a new converter or once I returned to the states) so just be sure that you have a good converter to take! I bought another iron (not Chi) in China & actually like it more than the Chi (which I've used for approx. 4 years now) so I guess it was a good thing it broke, aside from being out $145. The iron id fuctionable in just about any country BUT Canada whether you have a converter or not. | Overseas Transformers
I keep reading that the CHI won't work with a converter, but what about a transformer? I'm overseas and use transformers for just about everything, just wondering if anyone has any experience with this. Question posted by Cheryl Tue Jun 20 2006 Submit your answer | Reply by jackie

why does sometimes the red light on handle that shows the power is on flicker? i tried the test and reset option to see if that would fix it and it didnt. The reason why this light flickers is because it is showing that the iron is hot. | | Reply by CHI gurl

Mine flickers ALL the time...I'll wait for a while to see if it will stop when it is at its hottest, and it doesn't.
I know you wrote this question a while ago but I was wondering if your CHI still works? I just got one as a gift and mine flickers all the time. Do you think I should return it? I hope it lasts because I know how expensive these straighteners are.
I'd appreciate your help. Thanks =) | Does Chi Turbo work with Converter?
