Hey! This is just what I think, but a 1 inch will work just as good as a 2 inch. The 2 inch plates just cost more money! I think the 2 inch plates are mostly for people with really long hair because it would take them a shorter amount of time with bigger plates! So if I were you, I would just purchase the 1 inch. Hope I helped you out! | ceramic plate falls off
one of the ceramic plates of my chi straightener fell off. Can i send it back to be replaced? or can i get a new one? Question posted by sylvia Wed Jul 20 2005 Submit your answer | Reply by kiki

I was able to fix this problem by going to an auto parts store and buying a high temperature silicone to re-affix the ceramic plate. Only cost me $6.00 - sure beats going out and buying a new Chi for $100.00! | flat iron plates loose
My chi straightener was accidentally dropped. The heating plates used to straighten hair are loose. How do I tighten them. Is there a place I can send my chi to get it fixed? Thank you Question posted by Bonnie Sat Jul 16 2005 Submit your answer | Reply by Elizabeth

Good question: I hope you havn't bought it by now. Please, do not buy it. When I straightened my hair with it for 45 min-1 hour, I got people telling me "Oh, you'd look so pretty if you straightened your hair" I think that says a lot. WAaaaaay overhyped. They pay people to say good things. | | Reply by Elaine

It gets up to 400 degrees and the tighter you squeeze it while straightening the hotter it will get. | my chi turns on and off

call Farouk at 1-800-237-9175 | A CHI that lasts a long time?
I am considering between CHI, Sedu, and FHI. My hairstylist uses an original CHI. She's had her for about 2 years and is still working, and she uses it everyday as well. It had great results on my hair. Has anyone owned a CHI for a LONG time and taken care of it well? (not wrapping the cord, etc) OR has anyone taken care of their CHI very well and it has broken? I would not recommend trying to fix it yourself. If your iron is less than 1 year old, there is one year warranty | WHERE TO RETURN CHI

You will have to return the item to the store/company where it was purchased from. We do recommend that you check against your credit card statement if you purchased it with a credit card to find out the contact information for the company/store where you bought your iron | Access to replacement cord

I took my CHI to France with me, along with a voltage converter that i bought so I could use it. All my appliances i used with the voltage converter worked, expcept for the CHI. I could never get it to work...it was extremely frustrating | | Reply by whitney

I've just come back from a trip to europe and i brought with me a voltage converter and an adaptor, hoping to use my CHI flat iron. I have the original one. As soon as i plugged it in the red light came on without me turning the on button and then i started smelling a burning sort of smell coming from it. THEN i saw smoke coming out of the black handles on my straightener and the handles were to hot to hold on to so immidiately i unplugged it, thinking if i didn't i would have blown the whole room up! Now i'm back in the U.S. and tried using my straightener, unfortunately mine now does the same thing here as it did in Europe!!!!! SO FOR PEOPLE BUYING THIS FLAT IRON-- IT WORKS BEAUTIFULLY BUT DON'T TAKE IT TO EUROPE!!!!!
Any advice on what you thinking happened to it???? Please reply back to this comment if you know what's happened or if I can get it fixed! |
