On Fri Sep 09 2005, Rebecca from San Diego wrote (see clip below), questioning the quality of the new CHI Originals and the possibility that they had been downgraded. Has the plug also been downgraded to a basic polarized two-prong plug instead of the IDCI plug?" . . .My hairdresser tried to replace her old Chi. She sent back the first replacement and got another and then realized CHI downgraded the quality. . . ." Question posted by KB Fri Oct 14 2005 Submit your answer broken chi

Both of my cords broke, they are very poor quality cords; I never twisted or rolled the cords. I looked for hours on the internet and found no replacement cords so I took power cords from a couple of cheap irons I bought at a yard sale for 50 cents each and soldered them to the iron, Furouk chi has a repair center you can send them to, to have cords replaced but it will cost you about $42 by the time you ship the Iron to them | | Reply by Sara

The 1 inch really works well, and the 2 inch even better. I have very curly hair and they work GREAT. I don't know why some people are telling you not to buy them(maybe they have only tried store bought straighteners). It is worth the $100. They truly truly work. | | Reply by So Cal

My hair is very thick, wavy/curly/frizzy & the Chi works great, I have the two inch but I hear the one inch works just as well. As long as you go slow, it WILL work. It is worth the $. I'm curious about the Sedu..... | | Reply by Francine from Canada

One person here mentioned NOT to buy any of the CHI and was mentioning that it doesn't do any good for her because of wave hair. Well let me tell you lady that I have very thick and I mean very thick curly hair and the CHI was a blessing for me of course if it's used properly. A straightening iron does not do miracles! But if you do your hair layer by layer (yes it takes longer) but you get better results! |
