Hope this helps you. I took mine in the store yesterday and the lady told me there was nothing she could do for me because I had it for over 1 month. She said I need to send it in and get it fixed for like another $30. Post something if it works out. | Broken Flat Iron

sedu, i think. it seems best, and a hairdresser told me chi just doesn't compare. but if your hair is on the thin side there won't be that much difference, so depends if your willing to spend the extra miney or not. | | Reply by Allie

the chi definately does have a lot of electrical problems, but it really does do a great job. i'm on my second one within two years.. the chord gets loose and the light flashes on and off, so when you are straightening your hair, it starts to cool down and makes it frizzy b/c there is no heat on. compared to the coriolis, the chi is better hands down. I'm trying to decide between the sedu, chi, and solano. my sister has the solano and loves it, so i might get that. still unsure tho. good luck with picking the right one. | | Reply by Jess

I've never used the Sedu, but I own the Chi and I am very disappointed as I have owned it less than 2 years and the cord is shorting out so there is $125 down the drain. I think it's a shame to spend so much on a cosmetic product that isn't even going to last. I've had conair ones last longer than this one. | How to tighten or unscrew the hinge of the Chi Flat Iron
YES, I HAVE 4 CHI FLAT IRONS THAT DO NOT WORK. IT IS ELECTRICAL, AND NO I DID NOT WRAP THE CORD. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF ANYONE CAN UNSCREW THE HINGE AREA. I SENT THEM BACK AND THEY RETURNED THEM, I WAS SO FAITHFUL - AND THEY COULD CARE LESS. Question posted by KAREN Thu Mar 29 2007 Submit your answer | Reply by ron williams

Take a very small screw driver and pop the cover off the henge area.( It looks like a button) under the button cover it looks like 2 screws, take 2 screw driver and unscrew them. One is a screw the other is a pin. Take a set of tweser and pull the pin out.
