This product leaves your hair feeling shiny and soft right after you straighten it. I love it, but when you first put it on it makes your hair greasy and sticky, but after you run it through the iron it feels awesome. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone.

I just bought a Sedu flat iron and looked for heat protection. The reviews for the Chi spray are good, so I bought some. I am very disappointed. I sprayed the right side of my hair and used the flat iron after the hair dried. It made my hair very stiff and dull, like hairspray. Then I brushed the hair out and it could move, but it felt like it feels after you brush hair spray out; dry and course. I did not use the spray on the left side of my hair and that side turned out soft and shiny. So, I will never use this spray again. I gave it to my daughter and she likes it. But I felt her hair and it felt very dry.

I loved Chi 44 Iron Guard. I have very soft curls although my hair is very thick and full. I use the product on my lightly damp curly hair (sparingly) right before blow drying. It leaves it very smooth and shiny. I follow up by straightening my hair in one inch sections and I lightly spritz the product near the ends (at about 5 inches away). It's not sticky, no residue is left behind on my hair nor my iron. You have to learn how to section your hair and how to manage the amount of product you put in it before you give it the thumbs down.

do not buy it. its very sticky, i hate it. it costs me alot of money! just for this stick thing! it's name should be sticky protector.

I've got the same complains that other girls here, this stuff made my hair sticky and i was afraid it could damage my Chi pink iron because the hair takes couple of minutes to dry, and i wasnt waiting long enough so you can imagine the awful sound of the hot iron on the wet recently sprayed hair, it ended up feeling stiff and smelling funny, but really is not our fault that we fail to use it, the directions on the bottle label say: section hair,spray evenly over dry hair and start using your heat tool from root to ends, i guess we just have to try diferent tricks to make it work and im going to follow the tips that are shared here and hope i get better results. That's why i only give 4 stars, 'cause my hair looked ok, but not great like with the chi silk infusium but i wanted to try something else so now i'll try to get it right.

no immediate hair damage; minimal styling aid; hardly any shine. i've yet to find a chi product that doesn't smell like a chemical factory or toxic waste dump. for my extra sensitive nose, this leans towards the toxic waste dump. used only once and it gave me a headache. i'm tossing it out!

I have dry ,relaxed and color treated hair and my sister in law let me use it.When i put it in my hair it made my ends look like i just got my hair cut.i actually had bangs that didnt look burnt for the first time!!who ever invented this is a genius.i recomend THIS TO EVERY ONE!!LET the hair dry and use a couple of mist on the ends and what section you really whant to style!!!!

I love the Chi Iron Guard, especially for my hard to tame side bangs! I also have the angled bob and absolutely love the Iron guard as it helps straighten and keep the straight all day! I love CHI and would never go to anything else! I definatley recommend it to everyone I know!

The CHI 44 iron guard works really well to make hair softer and shinier. I blow dry my hair, then spray this on and then go over my hair with a straightener. When you spray it on your dry hair, it will feel like hairspray, but just brush through your hair and straighten, and then that feeling will go away. Don't use too much, or else your hair will feel greasy.

I'm currently a cosmetology student, so we have to use thermal protection on clients hair. It smells great, works great, and doesn't leave the hair or iron/curling iron sticky by any means. I would highly recommend this product!

This product works perfectly well , I don't know why people have problems with it ! If you use the right amount in the right places it doesn't leave a sticky residue on your flat iron plates or make your hair crunchy or sticky at all . And personally , I really like the smell !

I was introduced to this product last February when getting my hair cut at a very reputable and high end salon. I had it used on me when I had my long hair (hip-bone length) and in its afterstage (a slightly longer version of the Rihanna-inspired angled bob) so I saw how it worked on different lengths of hair with dead ends and healthy ends. Either way, it worked fantastically on me, and my ends are still moderately healthy after almost six months without a haircut and frequent heat styling. You do NOT need to spray every section of hair. I tend to separate my hair into big chunks and spray a couple of mists focussing towards the ends, brush through it and then straighten. I have only used one bottle since getting it in February, I still have some (it's August) and I will buy it again even though it's a bit pricey.

I used one of my sister's CHI products and I really liked it. So I bought this product. It does a great job straigtening your hair. The smell is good too. I section my hair in layers and flat iron this and just lightly spritz it over each layer as i flat iron. The only thing that is kind of aggravating is that when it dries before you flat iron it, it hardens and is sticky like gel almost, but once you flat iron over it, it's fine.

I used the Chi 44 Iron Guard Thermal Protection with my Sedu 1 1/2 inch flat iron. I was not impressed at all. They both did nothing great for my hair. I have very long spiral curly hair,all one length,to my tailbone. My hair is not shiny or fully straight from using this product. I won't buy the product again. I will keep searching for a better thermal protector though to use with my Maxiglide. Nothing works better for me when I want to go bone straight and shiny.

I completely agree with the person who said it was an operator error!! I have been using this product for over a year, and I rarely have to go for a trim. I don't get a "sticky" reside on my straightener. Maybe that is because i use it correctly. You're not supposed to coat your hair completely with this product. Just spray it all over your hair like a hairspray, and some at the ends. Let it dry a little, and then straighten. That's all there is to it!!!
