I have LONG, hair down to my waist, it is also got highlights so its been bleached and its dyed, i dont use flat irons to often ( cause my hair is so long its takes to long to do myself) but when i tried this stuff the first time it did make my hair stiff and sticky like some people are saying, BUT when i only used a light mist of it (not even to make my hair damp) then ironed, it was great, my hair looks shiny and its so soft, i do think if you try this with a friz control product like i do (like friz-ease serum) the hair looks healthy and shiny, and it has made my hair feel better even when i dont use it, i use it before i blow dry too, JUST A LIGHT MIST! :)

its a really good product it makes my hair soft after just one use and is your hair is getting stiff you probally put to much on and it sprays in one place when you squirt it so i always spray it in my hand and then put it on my hair and then spary in my hand again and put that on my tips and it works out fine and i dont have to much or to little so thats just a little tip to try

African American w/relaxed color treated hair. I prefer Mizani Thermastrength serum, but ran out and resort to this CHI spray I purchased on a whim. My hair that day, was lovely, got a crisp curl and straightening. The next day it was like Beirut, dry and coarse - and I moisturize ends every other night. I was frantic! Used a conditioning shampoo followed by Mendex by Roux to restore hair equlibrium. Moving to elasta thermal liquid for cheap alternative

I have naturally wavy & very heavy & fine hair. I use flat iron on my hair atleast twice or thrice a week. I never used to use any heat protectant in my hair & that used to be a concern always & then I came across this product. It not only protects my hair but also leaves my hair softer & shiner & also it has cut down my straightening time... this is an awesome product :) really happy with it .

I have been foolishly styling my hair with no protectant and my hair is pretty damaged. The first time I used this product I was upset because it was sticky and stiff , i then read reviews and thought I could have used too much . Now I use in moderation and my hair is very shiny and soft. Smell is alright , I don't think its very strong .
Fine or Thin hair? DONT BE SCARED!

I used to be so cautious of damage, and I still am to a point.. but this stuff is wonderful! Everyone need heat protection for their hair, but if you also have fine hiar, you know how I feel. I bought it for when I wanted to straighten my hair with a flat iron, however it works well when curling your hair with a curling iron as well.
GREAT SUFF but stinks REALLY BAD!!!!

I love this product sooo much i use it with my chi silk infusion and my hair is the softest it has ever been! I am biracial and my hair is really dark,curly,thick and long, i love to straighten my hair all the time so i knew that i needed a good product to protect my hair but not make my hair greasy.... and this is the one my hair is the softest it has ever been and i know it is protecting the cubical. The only problem i have with the product is its stench it smells repulsive!!!! It smells soo gross and i can barly breath when i spray it on. But other than that I LOVE IT ALOT!!!!!!

I already have straight, longer than shoulder length, very fine hair, but I use a flat iron daily to get rid of the frizzies that come from coloring my hair. Too much of the wrong product can make my hair very greasy, but I have been trying this for a week, and it is fantastic. Keeps the frizzies away all day, and makes my hair smooth and soft and protects it from the flat iron heat. Would highly recommend it, just spray all over, not too close to your hair, allow to dry, and I comb through my hair prior to ironing.

This product made my hair look and feel worse after using it! My hair felt very crunchy and stiff and stayed wet looking even when it was dry. They also have terrible customer service!! I called the company and asked if I could get a refund and they said they don't do that! No refund, coupons or anything! Will never buy their products again.

likes: It's easy to use, doesn't make my hair feel crunchy or stiff. Leaves it soft & shiny
dislikes: HATE THE SMELL WITH A PASSION. It smells like men's cologne (which in and of itself is not bad) but I don't want my hair smelling like that. It's almost overwhelming at application and clings to the hair all day.
Bottom Line: If you like the smell of mens cologne. Then I recommend. If not, stay away.
Will I buy again?: No

I bought this stuff after watching countless videos on youtube and I really really like it. You can't use to much because it will make hair stiff but I combine with oil sheen as i'm flat ironing my hair. It works great for me. I have very fine hair and I can't stop talking about this stuff to all my friends. On the other hand my daughter hates it.

I use this product on my wet, course hair before I blow dry. My hairdryer is 2600 watts. I use a round brush to do the straightening and no hot iron is needed. Love this product and would recommend to anyone. Hair feels happy and healthy with no damaged ends. It is worth the investment.

This product works so well for me, i have relaxed 4b type hair. And the product works just lovely with it. I section my hair and spray it on each section,I dont spray it to the point that my hair feel drenched..The product seems to dry quickly though, but it doesnt matter. when i begin flat ironing, it's true it does make my hair stif and it makes the strands stick together, so what i realise should be done is after flat ironing each section go through it with a brush and the stands come free full of body and life not to mention superior shine! ofcourse i cant speak for other hair types but my own. When i wash my hait i use the silk infusion before blow drying so it has great results too

It was ok but my problem was that i found it 2 be very much like hairspray. It wasnt that sticky just after i had ran my flat iron trew my hair it looked like i took glue and flatend my hair. I protected my hair good but i also wasent impressed with the white stuff it left in my hair and brushes. This product is only good for people with some what straight hair. Im mixed and this was not a good idea. My hair is very thick and curly and hard 2 straighten. This dryed out my hair. i wouldnt sggest it. Its way to much for the results.

All this did was make my hair sticky and very hard to straighten. Even after it was all straigt it made it hard to style and it was hard and dull looking. I went back to my cheap five dollar heat protectant to see if it would make a difference and it did. My hair was actually soft and manageable when I was done. I wrote an e-mail of compliant to the company I can't believe they would actually sell this stuff with such as high price tag and get away with it. Honestly it is awful! Like the silk infusion but this stuff needs to be trashed!!

Even lightly spraying Iron Guard coats your hair and makes it stiff. It's like spraying stiff, stiff hair spray. I had never bought a Thermal Spray before - used Kiehls and it was ok and actually used and like Silk Infusion but I wanted to try a spray. It flat-ironed barely ok - however, felt stiff and when I tried to wash it out - could NOT get the coating off. I could barely run a comb through after using the detangler.
When I tried to wash it out last night, 3 Shampooings (1 with Clarifying shampoo) and can still barely run a comb through it and this morning can still feel the coating.
I have since purchased the Wella Thermal spray and it works great and washes out great - Run Away from CHI Iron Guard and try anything else.
