this chi straightens your hair very nicely but occasionally your hair gets caught in it and ripps it out . if your hair shoulder-length or shorter it will not curl your hair very well . if you have long hair it curls pretty good . i have shoulder-length hair so it doesn't curl my hair very well . . . but it straightens it quickly and doesn't damage your hair as much as other flat irons do . it is excellent that you can change the heat settings . all in all its pretty good if you have long hair . i had this chi for about 6 months but now it won't turn on . so i don't recomend it .

I received it for a gift. It is really awkward using the curling iron. It tends to pull my hairs out when they get wrapped around the handle.
Change of heart

I have used it a little more than six months and this morning it wouldn't turn on. I was not a happy person. My girls and I had to wear braided pony tails today!
Not Worth It

I purchased this item because I wanted a 2-in-1 curling iron/flat iron. The concept is absolutely great, but this product is not. The maximum temperature setting is 200 as opposed to what the description states (400). My Sedu flat iron set at 325 does a great job. This Chi at 200 does a lousy job. Both using as a flat iron and curling iron were cumbersome and pulled on my hair rather than sliding through the plates. Also the plates are "coated" ceramic. And to add insult to injury, it is ugly. The only good thing is the cord. Very, very disappointing.
Absolutely not worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The spring on the curling iron does not grip very well. I have thick hair and I cant even curl it because my hair slips through. Also it does not get up to 400 degrees, only 200. It is absolutely not worth the money.
Worth it

I'm one of those girls that curl and flattens my hair. So this 2 in 1 was perfect. Before my routine was using the regular curling iron and then finishing off with the flat iron to get that smooth framing around my face. Now I don't have to plug 2 appliances up. It's a perfect idea and tool.
I love it!

I love it! The only thing that I would fix is the small gap between the handle and the plate that tend to catch my hair if I am not careful.
