Product Rating: 3 Not worth the price tag!
Reviewer: Vera from Mission Viejo, CA  Sun Oct 24 2004

I purchased this iron looking for something light I can take for travel. It is definitely ligther than the current CHI Ceramic 1" Turbo I use, but I feel the CHI is actually better for far less money. I've been reading all the reviews about everyone having bad luck with the CHI, but I took it to Italy for my honeymoon and it worked great! The Bion did not seem to straighten my hair as well as the CHI and I had it on the highest setting. Just seemed like a lot of money for something that I did not really see much of an improvement on. There are better flat irons out there for much less!

I waited 2-3 months to get mine and it was more then worth it. I have very long, think, curly hair and this straightens it better then anything else i've ever used. It used to take me 45 mins to 1 hour to do my hair and now I can do it in 30 mins or under.

I have posted here before, but i would just like to say that I still absolutely ADORE this flat iron. It is so versatile. I have done curls, flips, everything. I get so many compliments on my sleek hair and it is so easy to get the results that I want. The digital read out is very reliable, it tells you what temperature the iron actually IS, not some random 1-15 number describing what the heat SHOULD be at. A lot of people have also commented on how naturally straight my hair looks. It doesn't look fried or lifeless at all, and usually it is pretty easy to tell who straightens their hair every morning, but my hair is still so incredibly healthy and shiny. I used to have to carry a hair tie around with me after I straightened my hair because I always knew it would get messed up, but now I know that even the hot humid Houston weather can't mess up my hair.

Product Rating: 3 Didn't live up to it's excellent reviews
Reviewer: Michelle from Texas  Sat Aug 07 2004

I purchased the bion hair straightener based solely on the customer reviews. I purchased a different straightener for my daughters that was recommended by a beauty supply business. The bion does straighten my hair, but is not as good as the one purchased for my daughters which was much cheaper. My bion routinely shows an error message on the digital readout and I have to unplug it, and plug it back in to get the error message off. The bion does not seem to damage my hair, but neither does the cheaper superstar purchased for my daughters.
I just don't understand the many "excellent" reviews. It works fine, but I found it not worthy of the superlative reviews.

Product Rating: 5 Good.

For the price, I was pretty much expecting this iron to do jumping jacks and wake me up in the morning and drag me into the bathroom. It of course doesn't do any of those things, however, I am still very happy with my choice in flat iron. It heats up quickly, and the digital display helps you know when it is completely heated up to use when I would just have to guess with other cheap versions.

I live by the ocean so it is HOT and horribly HUMID here. I will be at work for 9 hours sweating, and spend about an hour outside in the hot humid weather, but my hair still holds on pretty well.

I have pretty stubborn, wavy, thick, frizzy hair so I tend to use the heat settings at least 180 degrees celsius and it takes about 20-30 minutes to do.

I get compliments on my hair daily and lots of people play with it more often because it is also so shiny and soft after I style it.

wonderful product. I won't be returning it

Product Rating: 5 Yes There Really Is A Difference

Of course I hesitated in purchasing this iron, it is so expensive. Not knowing any better, my first purchase was a ceramic porcelain flat iron by Jilbere costing a whopping $35+ (after discount). It was good, got my hair straight after several passes. It has a really hard to read dial but, I struggled with the setting, trying to get it just right. The first time I used it it seemed smooth in passing thru my hair(my first time using a flat iron), but progresivly felt rougher. The last couple of times my hair seemed to stick in a few places(cleaning didn't help). I also noticed my hair was not as shiny as when my stylist did it (just got a new Japanese Straightening). After reading reviews here, and placing a high value on my precious hair, I bought the Bion. WOW! It really is different. The plates, in passing thru my hair feel as smooth as glass, compared to a "stoneware" feeling of my old (2 months) iron. I left my Bion on a lower setting 183c,and not only did it straighten my hair in one pass, but left the section shining like glass! If I had known about this iron before getting my hair straightened I probably would have waited, since I don't live in a humid climate. That being said - save your pennies (if you must) and get this iron! Oh, the joy...

Product Rating: 5 My best purchase ever!!!
Reviewer: Rachel from Miami, FL  Thu Dec 09 2004

The Bion has been by far my best purchase ever. I'm addicted to hair products of all sorts, and have never come across a product so amazing. Within 3 seconds of turning on the iron it has already started heating up quickly. I found this so hard to believe. I also thought the digital feature was going to be a bit more complicated, but it's fairly easy to use.

What I loved the most was the fact that it was very, very light and compact. It was easy to manage and could reach certain spots that other larger irons can't. I know this is going to sound crazy, but the free sectioning clips and comb were super cool too (lol). This iron is every girl's dream! It heats up... a lot. Even after you turn it off it stays heated for a very long time. The special tips of being able to flip your hair out and in actually worked, for God's sake. I couldn't believe that either. =P

All in all, the iron was perfect.

Reviewer: Megan from Sacramento, CA  Tue Dec 07 2004

I'm speechless! This iron is so awesome. I'm African American and my hair is naturally super curly and coarse...and it straightened it out completely. I only had to go over each piece once and the temperature wasn't even at the maximum. I'm so impressed and would recommend this to anyone who's been looking for a great and dependable iron for a long time. Wait no more...all your problems are solved for wanting straight hair in a flash. I used some of the Freida Hair Serum on my hair when it was wet, let it dry, and then started using the flat iron. My hair is so smooth and silky now and I no longer have to pay $40/visit to go and get my hair straightened at a salon!!!

When i was looking into buying a Bion I payed 20 dollars more so i could have it the very next day i ordered it! I was so excited after reading the good reviews. And still am cause it works GREAT! Unlike the CHI it makes your hair so smooth. I can see a dramatic difference between straightners! Hope this helps for anyone looking into buying one!

I have tried many flatirons on my clients and this is by far that best!

Product Rating: 3 well it works, but it's no miracle
Reviewer: jill   Sat Jul 10 2004

I've used my bion a few times now, and it does work better than any other straightener I've tried (conair, hot tools). I was really excited after reading the other reviews, but my results were not THAT great. My hair is really thick and wavy and it still takes me nearly 40 minutes and some sections I have to go over more than once. It does stay straight and for the most part frizz free, but I do not feel it is worth the money unless as a last resort. I wish I had tried something a little less expensive before this. The digital display is cool, but not a must-have. Overall, I would only reccomend if your hair is impossible and you feel you've tried everything else. hope this helps..

It took me a while to finally decide that I wanted to spend $180 on a flat iron. Well, I am glad I decided to make this purchase. This flat iron has been an excellent investment. Don't waste time shopping around for a ceramic flat iron. THIS IS IT!!!!!!

By far, the best strightener ever! It's fast, powerful, light, the Bion deffently has it all!

I so recomend it! Sure, it's pricy, but it makes your hair feel like a million bucks! The Bion leaves your hair sleek, shiny, and flawlessly streight!

My hair feels amazing, it's never in my life felt so awesome! Thanks Bion people!!!

Reviewer: Leticia Bautista from Tracy, Ca.  Tue Jun 15 2004

I bought this product about two months ago. The Bion works fantasic. I am a Latina and I have very frizzy hair and it's really poofy. It is so hard to manage and VERY hard to streighten. This Iron streightened my hair..it made it STICK steight..left no frizz at all. The only thing is, is that after two months of use my iron no longer works! Overall the iron is a MIRACLE but it went out on me. I take good care of it and I always store it in its original box that it came in...so I dont know what happend.

Product Rating: 5 Very Worthy Investment
Reviewer: Kell from NY  Wed Dec 01 2004

Usually a very skeptical consumer, I am always doubtful of products that claim to do wonders for problem areas. However, after trying the Bio fine ceramic flat iron, I was totally blown away by the quality results I got from using it for less than 10 minutes. It looked like I walked straight out of a salon, but I say this product pays itself back many times over. It produces results just like getting the popular thermal Japanese straightening perm, but the advantage of doing it yourself with this product is the variety you can do with your hair (simply straight to flipping your hair out if you wish). I am definetely going to recommend this product to anyone looking to make their life easier in the hair department!

Product Rating: 4 Just got mine today!!
Reviewer: Debbie Seven from Arizona  Thu Jun 03 2004

To all those that just received their iron...just wondering....
Did you notice that the add says it is a 200 watt iron in fact in the product details it says the following:
# 200 watts of power with superior Ceramic Pulse heating technology.
# 1 inch plate size.
# Fine ceramic plate emits negative ion.
And so on. BUT if you look at my unit it says 100 watts. Is it just mine or are yours the same? Did we get an older version? I wrote to the customer service and they said
We do apologize for the confusion regarding your order. This following
model is the improved model from the previous version (200W). The new model
is just as powerful, however, more energy efficient (only uses 100w). We no
longer stock the older model.
That doesn't make sense to my electricion husband....
Why then does the add and product details say 200 watts? And put it in big bold print like it is the new model??
