At first the Bion hair straightener was working great. But after a little over a year, the cord completely broke off from the flat iron.
DOESNT LAST

Well i purchased this straightener in January and its already messing up. Although it does work well it does so only when it feels like it. It has read error many times and drops temperature after awhile. I used to have a Chi and I can say it is a better investment and 50 dollars cheaper. The Chi get hotter and lasts longer. Also the Bion had exceptionally small plates. I have thin, straight hair and based on my experiece with the Bion I feel it would take FOREVER to use on thick or curly hair. So overall, and for the price, I don't think the Bion is worth it. Go with the Chi or even the Hai, which is just as good as the Chi for less, they are much better.

Although I've only had the straightner for about 2 weeks, it seems to work fine. It heats up quickly and seems to completly smooth out my coarse, frizzy hair. The only problem I have is it seems to snag through my hair. It doesn't straighten very "smoothly." Besides that, great!

Best flat iron on Folica!

Talk about flat irons, I've tried all the expensive brands that had the best reviews including Sedu, Chi, Solia, and Hai. Yet I wasn't exactly happy with any of them. They were all "Ok" to me, guess I was too picky. The Bion was the last and current iron Ive tried and to my suprise, stood out from all the others. Not only does the exterior design look prettier, but most IMPORTANTLY straightened incredibly beyond my expectation. After spending all that time and money experimenting to find the best iron, I've finally found it! Thank god........
Amazing!

I've tried many straighteners and these are by far the best. I did have the problem with having to switch it on, wait for the error message, unplug and then turn on again - it always worked fine second time. Then I moved house and it now seems to work prefectly first time which is strange! But it was only a minor inconvenience and well worth it, the end results are fantastic and I always have people telling me how nice my hair is!
Excellent product!

I love this Bion hair straightener. I have long very wavy hair and this works wonders. I can do my hair in less than 10 minutes! It does everything it says it can do. I especially like that it heats up in seconds. It amazing!

I have owned a couple different flat irons, and none of them can even come close to this one. No more going over the same section of hair twice, It only takes once. I love the digital temp control so I know exactly what the temp is since I have color treated hair.

Ive had my Bion straightener 2 months and it works like a dream. I wonder if the unsatisfied customer is either not using the correct products with it or no products at all? That might be worth checking. Electrically, my iron works fine too-it seems to be problem free and my hair-VERY recalcitrant to straightening, still looks great.
PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

Ladies,
Please don't waste your time or money purchasing this iron. I have tried several flat irons & this is the worst yet. First, you have to push the safety button several times to get the iron to turn on, if it even works that way! If that attempt doesn't work, the only option you have is to plug it in and take it out of the electric socket several times, meanwhile you are having the press the safety button - hoping one of these times it will actually work. Finally, it will come on; however, it's not that easy to straighten your hair as you have to go over each section several times (more than any other flat iron I have used) and for this kind of money you would expect your hair to be super straight.
I used the iron over a large section of my bangs and it completely fried them, leaving me with the only option but to cut them all off. Not only are they very short, but it is embarrassing (you cannot hide extremely short bangs). Every time thereafter, I was scared to use the iron fearing it would happen again. A couple of months later the iron stopped working all together.
Today, I call to get a refund, but the customer service rep said the warranty does not cover that. She said, "they will send me another iron, but I have to pay for shipping & handling each way." My response, "Why should I have to pay this money? I already paid $180 at the time of purchase, I didn't get the results it promised, it fried my hair and broke within a 6 month period." When I explained to the customer service rep that I didn't want another iron, she said I can pay for the shipping and give it away as a present.....
In short, I am very disappointed in this product & that Folica.com doesn't care more about customer service. I will never purchase another item from this website.
For those of you who will proceed and purchase this item, please be sure to keep your invoice as this is your only proof and way to get another crappy iron and good luck!!!!
Sincerely,
Very Unsatisfied Customer

I have had my straighnter for a little over a month and it is still workin great...it's soo ligth weight it's amazing...it seriously straightens your hair in one smooth glide....i call it magic...it doesn't damage ur hair...but if you have pretty straight hair or it's just a bit poofy it's better to use the lower setting or buy a straighter with a lower setting...
An excellent hair straightener

I'm Indian and have extremely curly hair, but have recently begun wearing it straight. I bought an inexpensive($25)drug store flatiron that did a really poor job even on its highest setting. It was clunky and I kept burning myself. A friend with the same problem recommended the Folica flatiron, with which she is really pleased. I too am very pleased with it and think it is well worth the cost. First, it straightens my hair effectively, leaving it shiny, and the straightening lasts for at least a week. It is much more manoeuverable than the clunky long flatiron/curling iron combo I used before-I have so far managed NOT to burn myself! It is well designed in the sense that when I use it I dont inadvertently hit the temp control and mess it up. It arrived promptly, has NOT broken (nor has my friend's-I noticed one review where the buyer stated hers had arrived broken)and I expect it will just keep on going. You really do get what you pay for!
I absolutely LOVE IT!!

I have always dreamed of having straight hair. When little, my mom always cut it off because it was so curly and I have so much. Now that I am an adult I have it long and whenever I get it cut I pay extra money to have the stylist straighten it for me...until I wash it again... =-(
With this iron...it's SO EASY, and FAST, and it looks awesome!! it's like a miracle. At first I was hesitant because it costs quite a bit, however, when I received it, I was at work, and I opened it, I plugged it in...and in a few minutes...I HAD STRAIGHT HAIR!!!
I love it love it loooove it!!!
I highly recommend it. It's worth the $$$ because I get to pay about $45dlls everytime my stylist does it for me...and now I can do it whenever, and practically wherever I want to.
It's magic!!!

I bought this when it was $180 and i still feel that it was worth every penny. I got it about 8 or so months ago and it is still going strong. I don't understand some of the bad reviews, because i think this flat iron is really sturdy and well made. The digital display is priceless and really wonderful. My hair stylist still says my hair is just as healthy as it was before I started using it. It has literally taken off more than half of the "poofyness" that my hair has when it is air dried. Effortless to use...
Pretty good iron

I got this iron last month, and I love the way my hair comes out when I'm finished styling it. Hair stays smooth and frizz-free for the whole day! The only con I have is that the iron clamp doesn't grip tightly when you are using it, so you have to work in smaller sections and take your time.
Fantastic!

I've got course naturally curly hair and I have tried at least six other flat irons. None of them even come close to the Bion. I have to work with smaller sections so it takes a little more time but the results are well worth the effort. Living in very humid south Florida, my hair would go frizzy by noon with any other flat iron. But with the Bion, the smooth sheen lasts until I go to bed at night. I would highly recommend this product.

I purchased this Bion digital straightener less than 8 months ago. It doesn't work anymore. Not only did it stop turning on, but the cord has literally detached from the main piece. I don't know if I was using the iron incorrectly but it constantly pulled and snagged on my hair. I have thin hair which shouldn't be difficult to straighten as it is only slightly wavy to begin with when air dried. I never thought this iron made my hair look that wonderful either. I purchased the Sedu which I think is more worth the price and works great on my hair. I have a Conair I bought 3 years ago that I honestly feel is better than the Bion. I was very dissapointed with the performance and quality of the Bion flat iron.
