I have tried and returned several high-end hair dryers as defined by cost $200 and up and this one is the winner for me. I have coarse and thick black hair and this one produces a shine like no other coupled by a short-drying time. I also agree w/the other reviewer that the moving light on the side is a little cheesy but hands down it is an excellent choice for a dryer! This is my first Bio Ionic purchase so I am really hoping the durability will carry it through for years to come.

THIS DRYER IS HOT!!!. SINCE I USE IT SELDOM IT'S OK, AND I DONT STRAIGTEN I DIFUSSE (3C,4A THICK SL). I HOLD IT AS FAR AWAY AS MY ARM CAN REACH. THERE IS NO BUTTON FOR MEDIUM HEAT, IT HAS LOW AND HIGH. I DID NOT BUY IT FOR THIS PRICE EITHER SHOP AROUND I PAID 105.00 WITH SHIPPING. BE CAREFUL WITH THE DIFFUSER. I READ A REVIEW THAT THE DIFFUSE2 DOES NOT FIT. I GOT THE DIFFUSE3 WHICH FITS BUT HAS TWO SPRINGS THAT ALLOW IT TO STAY ON. ON THE 2ND USE ONE SPRING CAME OFF. I DON'T KNOW IF IT CAN BE REPAIRED BUT FOR NOW IT STILL STAYS IN PLACE. I PURCHASED THIS TO DECREASE/ELIMINATE DAMAGE FROM BLOW DRYING TOO EARLY TO TELL. IT DOES DRY AND FAST IT'S JUST TOO HOT.

I used this model for 2 years, and my wavy, fine hair became progressive dry on the ends. The temp of the air coming out of this dryer was unbearably hot when using it on the high setting, which I needed to straighten my hair. Finally, one day, I heard a rattling sound coming from the dyer and shut it off, and saw that the inside of the nozzle was scorched. Yikes! That's exactly what it did to my hair too, and I'm now looking for a new dryer. This dryer is fast at drying and straightening, but will eventually fry your hair.
This dryer does what it says.

I have naturally curly hair. This hair dryer, when used with the ionic diffuser, dries my hair quickly, with less frizz and lets the ringlets do what they do. I can use the low heat setting to get these results. The diffuser is large so it covers large areas at a time.
This is the best dryer ever

This will completely change the way you do your hair. It looks better, shinier and smoother in less time. I hardly ever use the flat iron. And it's quiet. When I moved to Europe I scoured the internet to find a 220 voltage version of this dryer. Now I have 2. The reviewer was right about all the controls, they are in a weird place and take some getting used to. Really a minor thing.
Unbelievable!! Best hair tool ever!

I have spent the last 2 weeks buying and returning hairdryers. I started with the Hot Tools tourmaline. Then the Chi pro, turbo, and nano and then FHI. Last night I was down to the Chi and the Bio Ionic. I dried half of my hair with the CHI and half with the Bio Ionic. Couldn't tell much difference on either side. The CHI side felt a slight bit softer so I figured that is what I'd keep. FYI- I have long, thick, curly hair. I then went to give my kids a bath. When I came out I got a glimpse of myself in the mirror. The Chi side was totally frizzy and unruly. The Bio Ionic side looked great. Then today I dried my hair with the Bio Ionic. It ended up being a rainy day, bad for curly hair, and my hair was straight and smooth all day! The best part is, I don't have to go over my hair with an iron after I blow dry. It is smooth, has volume, and is shiny. Oh, and it only takes 10 minutes from wet to dry on my thick hair. I love this dryer!!
I did try the Bio Ionic Whisper Quiet first. It is also really great. I found that the nano is as quiet but gets a little hotter which is what I a need. The Whisper model is probably better for fine hair. Both are great.

best blow dryer ever. have been a stylist for 18 yrs...only one quirk...the control buttons are in the wrong place...should be on the back side...and could use a longer chord

My first Bio Ionic hairdryer lasted 7 years, which I loved. This model seems to works just as well by giving my naturally curly hair a super shiny frizz free blow out. The light strip on the side is a little cheezy. Hoping this one has a long life too.
