I mix the Bigen powder in a hair coloring bottle. Put water in first and then the powder so it doesn't stick to the bottom of the bottle.

I have used this for more than 10 years (58&59). It worked fine. Recently I had sever reaction, the scalp had bumps, oozing liquid, itching and unstoppable scratching. I had to get steroids, antibiotics and liquid medications for three months. This even spread to the entire body with a exzema tyope of rash. Major problem. I am scared of using anyhting and I am now going natural gray. Too risky. The product (it contains PPD) should have the warning and ingrediants.

For beautifully even color retention and shine using Bigen, prepare your hair prior by using a Protein porosity filler. Use the Bigen color on top of the protein. You will absolutely no itching during the process and afterwards rinse with Loreal after color rinse. Incredible shine and texture. But the protein porosity filler is the key to a succesful coloring with Bigen and the added bonus of no scalp irritation. You won't regret the extra step.

Did you first do the skin test with this product? If so, it's really strange that you'd have such a strong reaction suddenly.
