Un-naturally Dark!
Hi!For the first time I use Bigen # 59 (brown/black). My hair came out un-naturally black. In fact it looks like I might have put black powder in my hair because their is no shine. It looks so un-natural, i am considering cutting it. It didn't look that way on testing. I am so embarassed. Are there any other solutions?

#59 is Oriental Black which gives off the artifical black look. #58 is Black/Brown i.e Natural Black

What are the ingredients for this product?
I have searched the box and all the contents within the box to see what the ingredients are within each product, however non are listed. I can clearly see through many other postings and the contents that this product does not contain ammonia or hydrogen peroxide so then what does it contain??? It seems like maybe if we can discover what this product is made of then maybe that will determine why the results seem to be turning out jet black or darker than the original color being sought after, whether it takes place over time or instantly.I have purchased a box of light chestnut brown but I am not willing to consider using a product that does not list what is in it, the risk is to high…

p-Phenylenediamine ....8.0% Sodium Perborate .....25.0% Sticky Agents .....33.0% Its on the right side of the box. Here in my country that is. Also Bigen doesnt have Hydrgen peroxide in its native form but Sodium perborate when mixed with water releases Hydrogen Peroxide. The difference is though it is in much smaller amounts than what you get in the other hair dyes.

I don't know what the ingredients are either, but I certainly understand your concern. I bought the #45 chocolate but I'm afraid to use it, as it seems everyone's hair comes out too dark. I bought #45 because I thought the lower would be a lighter color. I'm thinking #46, which is "light chestnut" might NOT necessarily be lighter than "chocolate" because it's number is higher. Still haven't used this product, as I, under no circumstances want "darker" hair.

I purchased #57 (dark brown) and #48(chestnut brown) even though I have not used it yet. The ingredients are on the bottom of the box I purchased at Star Beauty Supply and Wig shop: Sodium Perborate, cellulose gum, sodiumsulfate, tartaric acid, p-Phenyendiamine sulfate, disodium Lauryl sulfosuccinate, m-aminophenol, algin, sapindus mukurossi peel extract (sapindus mukurossi), magnesium stearate, fragrance (parfum)

Color too Dark
I used the Bigen Medium Chesnut last night, left it on for only ten minutes and today, my hair looks as if I dyed my hair jet black! What can I use to lift the color? Can I use the Bigen Xpressives?

Semi Perm or Perm?
I have heard great things about the product but no one can really tell me if it is a perm or semi perm. My concern is that like a perm color product, it will damage my relaxed hair. Can someone tell me if it is just the amonia that in fact makes a product "perm" versus "semi" perm??

Not quite, although most so-called "permanent hair color" products contain ammonia as the alkalizing agent for oxidation when mixed with hydrogen peroxide (H2 O2). What "permanent" really means is that some of the natural pigment molecules in the hair's inner cortex are first disolved by oxidation. This process is called "lifting" the natural pigment. It is a PERMANENT CHEMICAL CHANGE in the hair's structure. Next, that same oxidative process causes the artificial pigment (diamine) molecules to develop, expand, bond, and lodge themselves in the spaces left behind after the natural pigment was destroyed. This process is called "deposit". so-called "permanent hair color" lifts and deposits in the same process. Here's the catch; all artificial hair color pigment fades with time depending on the hair's condition and other factors. It is not "permanent". That term, once again, refers to the permanent chemical change in the hair's internal structure that results from using an oxidative artificial color process to lift natural pigment. The type of color often mis-named semi- is actually "demi"-permanent color. The English meaning of the French word demi is "half". It does half the job of permanent hair color. It is a non-oxidative process that is called "no-lift" or "deposit-only" hair color. It lodges pre-developed diamine molecules in the outer hair layer using a mild acidic activator (usually the equivalent of 1 2/2% H2 O2 - or put another way about 5 volume H2 O2) to open up the outer hair layer to accept the color molecules which lodge there. Hope that helps.

you can use it the same day. Bigen contains no amonia and peroxide therefore, its actually a semi-permanent color, much like a rinse. save to use.

COLOR TOO DARK
I used the product for the first time this week. The color of my hair was a medium brown, except for all the gray around the edges and the front. I selected the light chestnut to lighten the color. the gray areas are a dark brown and the rest looks jet black. I used the entire bottle and let it set for 30 minutes. What should I do the next time to ensure that it lightens rather than darkens the color. By the way, I loved using the product! THANKS FOR THE FEEDBACK!

It's my understanding from my hair stylist friend (who turned me on to this product) That Bigen is an additive dye. Unlike other hair coloring products that use chemicals to first strip the color that resides within the hair and then replace that color with its own, Bigen adds to the color that is already there, hence the darker shade. I've used Bigen about 5 times and it always comes out noticeably darker and then lightens very subtly with washes and sun exposure. The instructions mention something about testing the hair color periodically to see if it is the right shade. I'm assume from this that the longer you have it on your hair, the darker it will become. You could try to limit the time it is on your hair. It may not turn out as dark as before, but it is my understanding that Bigen will darken the hair nevertheless.

I have used Bigen for the first time. A client brought it in & had me put it on for her. I really liked it cause it really covered her gray hair. I would like to know if it has any Henna in it? My client sid it did but it says not to put over henna so I would like to know if it has any in it.

I don't think this product has any henna in it. Henna is more of a reddish brown while Begin has different colors. Henna is only one color however I have heard it being called henna, or "black henna."

How do I go back to natural color after using Bigen
Hello,I love Bigen Hair Color. However, after months of using it to cover my grey my hair is very black, my natural color is dark brown. I think it got darker because my hair may be very porus. My question is how do I lighten my hair to it's natural color without damaging it? Is there a natural remedy? Thank you anyone for your help.

I had to let my hair grow out and cut off the portion that was died black with Bigen. I'm not sure of any other way to go back to your natural hair color.
