Just wondering if I can be moderate wih this stuff; I've picked up #46, light chesnut. I have dark/medium blonde hair and I really don't want it to go black (would be FAR too harsh for my coloring) but rather a warm brown. I'm a little freaked out after reading all of the posts about how dark this stuff gets. If I leave it on for 10-15 minutes, can I hope to get the warm brown that I'm going for? Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you!!! Question posted by Ellen Thu Aug 21 2008 Submit your answer How can I lighten the color now?
I have put in number 47, medium chestnut on my hair. It looks like a harsh black and I even have very dark skin.It was shocking giving the fact that the sample hair on the display shelf with the box portrayed a lighter color. So, I held some large amount of hair strands to the light and could see that there are brownish chesnut (hues). I will check in the sun tomorrow...to see what it looks like. Can someone tell me how to lighten this or how long does it take to wash out??? Bigen lightens over time, i use the Oriental Black and within a month my hair is a medium light golden brown. | Too dark
My stylist has colored my hair medium to dark brown for years. For some unknown reason she used Bigen the last time and my hair turned black which does not look good on an older woman. I have a pixie, short cut and very fine hair.I have tried head and shoulder shampoo, prell, hot/hot water, dish washing soap, clothes detergent- frequently for two weeks. I even made a mix of a tablespoon of peroxide with shampoo and water. Nothing helps. I finally got a wig but feel very uncomfortable wearing a wig.Is there anything left for me to do! There is a product on this very site, called Color fix, pretty much the same as Color Oops!! | Can I use Bigen to add highlights?
Hello,I have used Bigen for years with no problem. I've always had jet black mixed hair. I use it to cover my gray that creeps in. I would like to add some bronze or copper highlights to my hair. Would Bigen work for that - especially with my hair already being black? Thanks! Question posted by Kris Wed Feb 13 2008 Submit your answer Colora Henna Creme after Bigen
Hi all,I used Bigen blue black because I thought it does not contain harmful chemical, but now I realized that it contains P-PHENYLENEDIAMINE and would like to switch to Colora Henna Creme (black). Does anyone know whether if this will yield unexpected results? Thanks Question posted by mathilda Tue Feb 05 2008 Submit your answer i'm pregnant, can i use bigen?

Yes, bigen is safe to use when pregnant because it contains no ammonia. Just to be safe, check with your doctor ahead of time. | My beautcian used a dryer
Approx. 2 months I went to get my hair done, and the beautician used Bigen black on my hair, but after the application she placed me under the dryer. A couple of days later my hair started coming out alot, until almost complete baldness. And now looking at the directions it clearly states DO NOT USE A DYER or CAP. Would this action cause my hair to come out? Question posted by Jasmine Tue Nov 20 2007 Submit your answer | Reply by Nikz

Yes it would , if they took the time out to state not to use a dryer or a cap, i believe they knew it would cause a negative reaction. | | Reply by april

I see that I am not alone after reading numerous concerns regarding unexpected results while using Bigen. I thought it was a factory fluke. I applied #57 dark brown and now I have jet black hair. I am a conservative grandmother & salesman. I am embarassed to make sales calls. How soon can I re-color? It's been two days.Help! I have medium brown hair & applied dark chestnut because I wanted a rich dark brown. It came out jetblack (yikes!!! too harsh for my skintone!) and they are not lying when they say that this color is permanent and IT and NOTHING can touch it once it's in!!!!! I put colorfix and PRELL shampoo and DAWN dish detergent and the color stays put! I've called the manufacturer and asked 3 different colorists so far and all say the same - there's nothing you can do! It won't take highlights & it won't take bleach. Not to say that you couldn't have a colorist try their luck, but that's what I've been told! To grow it out, given LONG hair will take me about 2 yrs (and coloring the regrowth with semis over & over). Otherwise it did make my hair look healthy & shiny. | Can you use colorfix on Bigen?
After years of pitchblack hair, which I always colour with Bigen/ oriental black, I'd like to get a lighter/ brighter haircolor. Can anyone tell me if colorfix could fix my problem?Colorfix does not work on henna, because there are metallic salts in it. But these metallic substances are not in Bigen so it seems....Soooo, the big question: will it work or not? Please advice!Thank you! Since the original haircolor was not affected (no ammonia, peroxide), it should be lying just under the Bigen color. Should be able to be Colorfixed. | | Reply by liz

natural body grade henna does NOT contain metallic salts. colorfix does work on these real hennas which are without any chemicals whatso ever. |
