Product Rating: 5 YAY!
Reviewer: Celeste from Texas  Thu Jun 11 2009

I have very long, thick hair and have been spending so much time in the morning using my Chi to create long curls. I got these rollers yesterday and YAY! They are wonderful! I read some of the other reviews about how the rollers got way too hot... FALSE. They do heat up well! Did someone forget they are HOT rollers? The heat is perfect. Also, on the subject of needing more clips? Yes, they only come with 15. Why? Don't know, not too smart. Just order more, they are not expensive. Also, be careful to not just let the roller fall out of your hair. Taking the clip off and guiding the roller to create a curl going away from your face is very flattering. This doesn't always happen if there isn't guidance. The curls last all day and today was rainy and especially humid. Amazing! The rollers also heat up quite fast. I love these rollers and look forward to less stress getting ready in the morning! Thank you, Babyliss.

Product Rating: 5 Wonderful style that lasts all day
Reviewer: MrsEAB from VA  Tue Apr 28 2009

This was the first set of rollers I have ever bought or used myself. I will start by saying, I am not a person who has any hair skills besides being able to make a ponytail. I started using these and although my hair was quite big and not perfect the first few go arounds (no skills), I got used to them.

Now I set my hair in them a couple times a week. The curls stay perfectly. I love using the rollers because I can set my hair, go aobut getting ready for work and just pull them out. I will recommend getting the extra clips, it has proved to be a lifesaver.

Also, it turns out this is the same set my hairstylist uses for all of his "event up-dos" clients.

Product Rating: 5 LOVE IT!!!
Reviewer: Deidre   Tue Mar 31 2009

I love these rollers!!! I always get compliments on my hair
when i use them...They come in about four different sizes and are easy to use. One suugestion make sure you purchase
extra butterfly clips because they only come with about 15. But this is a great selection to purchase.

Product Rating: 5 Love it!!!!!!
Reviewer: Sharon from Conn.   Tue Feb 10 2009

I informed my hairsdresser, while I was sitting in her chair, how every day when I go to work I "bump" my hair with a curling iron. She brought me in her BaByliss to try. That was Sept. 08. I tried it AND I loved it. I use it on my "relaxed" hair every 3 to 4 days and I love the body I have in my hair. It is now Feb. 09 and I finally returned it to her because I purchased my own and I'm still loving it. I put them in, go take care of the kids and take them out, run my fingers through and I'm good to go. My only suggestion......don't wear them outside when starting your car during the winter months... the neighbors will look at you like you are from Mars! :)

These are the best rollers that I have tried. They don't burn your head or hair. The curls are long lasting. I have very long hair and it is not really thick. They take about 10 min or so to heat up but they are great. They should give us more clips for the rollers!!! It would be nice if the rollers were a little bigger.

Product Rating: 4 Fantasic
Reviewer: Daniell from Edmonton , Canada  Fri Nov 28 2008

I just bought these hot rollers... They are awesome. They make my hair nice and curly. Not only that the curl actually does last all day. This is far one of the best hot roller sets on the market. The only downfall to this hot roller set is that I wish they would include more of the medium hot rollers. or let you order extra. I plan to buy an extra set since my hair is super long. I do recommend this product.

Product Rating: 1 Thin Hair = Terrible with this product
Reviewer: Megs   Fri Nov 21 2008

I have thin hair. I was excited to get rollers since my friend always raves about them. Everyone seemed to think these were good. They are HORRIBLE! There is no way to get my poker straight thin hair wrapped around them without getting kinks and burning my fingers.

I would go with some velcro ones or ANYTHING else! Seriously if anyone knows how to properly use these PLEASE PLEASE post a video so I can see because I truly believe its impossible.

Save yourself and DON'T BUT IT! I wish I would have taken the bad reviews on here seriously and saved myself the money. They now sit in my closet taking up space. Hopefully I can get rid of them at a garage sale.

Product Rating: 4 Great product even for my super straight silky hair!
Reviewer: Alyssa   Thu Nov 13 2008

This product works very well on my long hair.. the trick is to apply curl lotion or hair sculpting lotion onto towel dried hair before putting the rollers in.. the curls need something to hold onto.. by applying the curl lotion, your curls will last all day even the next day!! I've tried without the lotion at first, but my curls only lasted an hr...I can make very fancy curls or wavy curls with these rollers which is great!!

Product Rating: 3 Not good for thick, straight Asian hair
Reviewer: Car from Los Angeles, CA  Fri Sep 05 2008

I bought this product based on the reviews and a recommendation from a good hair stylist.
Pros: lots of roller, clips are awesome, sits up, heats ups fast, easy to use, easy to roll, holds hair
Cons: large purple rollers to not give any curl at all, curl does not hold in my thick hair, takes up a lot of space

I am very good at styling my hair. I can use a marcel to create spirals and this set is easy to use and roll. But, the curl, even with spray, clean or dirty hair, will not hold. It looks pretty for about 15 minutes, but I need something to last for a day or two.

I left them in until cold and even used the cool shot on my hair dryer. Still wont hold.

Based upon other reviews, I'm going Caruso.

Product Rating: 4 If these were actually jumbos
Reviewer: scazza   Tue Aug 05 2008

If these were actually jumbos this set would be perfect. I was deciding between this and the 12 set, and I'm staying with the 12. The 12 is the only Babyliss set that has actual jumbo rollers for volume, not just curl. The 30 would have been perfect but what they are calling jumbo are actually 1.25" not 1.5". If only there was a set with 4-6 jumbo, 6-8 large, and 3 medium I would be set.

I think this is a great product just not what I'm looking for.

Product Rating: 5 Amazing results, easy to use, hair friendly and beginner-friendly
Reviewer: Lindsay from Ontario, Canada  Thu Jul 24 2008

This is an excellent product. I have longer, thicker normal hair that is easy to style. I have a natural wave so my hair is curl-friendly but also takes to straightening. I wasn't looking to mess around with a curling set, and this is the first one I've bought. It is a little pricey but I think it's well worth it. I can do a full head of curls in about 30 minutes and that's just as a beginner. It's VERY easy to use, and I thought it'd be a little more difficult. My only challenge so far has been trying to gauge the timing so that I can get a looser curl, so far it's been curling too well! It seems to be extremely gentle heat-wise, and I only find the smallest curlers to be a little uncomfortable to touch at times. I was worried about burning my fingers at first but I haven't had any problems.

Thank you to the previous reviewers suggesting to buy extra clips. I did this and it has definitely come in handy - in fact, I would have been quite upset if I hadn't. There aren't enough clips for the amount of rollers I need and that's a little ridiculous. This set might not be for you if you only prefer one or two sized rollers. I imagine it would make the process much more time-consuming because you'd have to take those curlers out, reheat and then style the new area. Personally I like using the various sizes, but it would be nice to be able to buy extra of a certain size if I so desired. It would also be nice if the doors latched; when the unit is sitting upright they close comfortably, but accidentally tilt it forwards (to get at the cord to plug it in, for example) and all the curlers will tumble out because the doors are not secure.

Overall I think this is an excellent product. I'm prone to split ends and this is so gentle on my hair, yet it provides a long-lasting curl that a loose hairspray can easily extend into a long day. I wish I had it earlier - now I can quit being disappointed in stylists that don't do my hair the way I want it and charge too much. I can do it myself AND be happy with the results!

Product Rating: 4 BaByliss Is Tops!
Reviewer: Tracy from Rimbey, AB  Thu Jul 10 2008

When my old and favorite hair setter quit, I was disappointed to find out replacing it would not be easy. I bought three different hair setters disappointed with each one. Searching on the internet, I found BaByliss Hair Setter. It works great. The variety of different sizes are very nice, the rollers are super hot, but not too hot to work with. The space saving idea of standing up is awesome. Only draw back - The company should include at least 16 hair clips, I would have rated it BEST if they had.

Product Rating: 4 Babyliss Rollers= nice waves
Reviewer: sara   Sun Jun 22 2008

i have very long straight hair and lots of it. I bought this setter because it had enough rollers for lots of hair, but it turned out there where to many big rollers that hardly curl at ALL. when i used the rollers i was hoping to get really curly hair, but it turned out to be wavy, im not saying it looked ugly, nor that the rollers where bad, but i expected them to really curl my hair. they also heat up in like 7 mins and the clips are good /eventhough i had to buy 10 more). so good rollers for lots of waves. oh and the "curls" only last for like 2 hours.

Product Rating: 5 Baby Bliss is Da Bomb!!!
Reviewer: Jo from Maryland  Wed Apr 30 2008

This is by far the best electric hairsetter I have purchased. It has enough rollers for my thick hair without having to use the smaller (less desirable) rollers. It can be stored upright on your stand, or flat like a traditional set. Personally, I like it being upright because it fits better on my stand and is easily accessible when sitting at my vanity. This set is worth every penny!! My hair is hard to curl, and the curls last into the next day.

I expected more, but got much less. The product is okay, but the curlers did not get as hot as I need and expected.

Product Rating: 4 curls for another guy
Reviewer: stephanie   Sat Apr 05 2008

This review is from my babysitter who is 19. Her boyfriend comes over when she is sitting for Courtney our daughter. His hair is really long and thick , she talked him into letting her set his hair with my bay bliss hot curlers. I got to see his curls when we got home and they were awesome , lots of curls every where. After talking to him , he said he would like wearing curls more often, and our sitter said she would be glad to start curling his hair daily since they heat up so fast and she could do his hair very quickly. Product Rating: 5 The Facts- One of The Few Pro Setters you Can Buy
Reviewer: Vana from California  Tue Apr 01 2008

I felt compelled to write this review because of all the misconceptions I'm reading about this setter. While it's not my favorite setter it's definitely in the top 5. The new ceramic version is much quicker to heat than the older version which has probably been discontinued or will be shortly. The ceramic injected rollers give a slightly stronger curl than the older model.

Pro series tools are not the same as retail tools and it's difficult to judge them in the same vein as many are doing here. Pro tools are often not meant to appeal to the average home user wanting a quick curl and nothing more, but instead a salon environment where it will be running most of the day and must deliver constant, evenly distributed results without damaging the hair.

The setter was intentionally engineered so that the roller did not burn your fingers making it easier to handle. The older wax type of hair setter your mother or grandmother may have used may have gotten much hotter, but it's outdated technology, and incredibly damaging to the hair. This pro set can deliver similar results with less damage and it's also user friendly, meant to be used all day long. Too many reviewers automatically assume hot burning heat = lasting curl. But that's a thing of the past. The first thing you'll notice with this ceramic set is that you can touch the sides of the roller even though it's been turned on for hours and they will not burn your hands. Yet they give a solid lasting curl though the roller itself did not feel like it was burning hot. Retail rollers are not so. Either they don't get hot enough or they are too hot and damage your hair. The Babyliss Ceramic gives a professional grade strong curl, without the damage a retail setter will give.

That said, this set still might not be for you, it's quite pricey and it takes longer to heat up than regular retail setters. Again that is because this setter was engineered to reach a certain heat and maintain that heat for all day long usage. Your retail setters were meant to be used a couple hours at a time using jolts of unregulated heat. That's not exactly something a home user would much care about, the home user probably wants to do 1 set per day at the most and this unit is pretty pricey for someone who plans to use it occasionally.

Hope this clarifies some of your questions and explains some of the mixed reviews you are seeing about this fabulous but misunderstood setter.

Product Rating: 4 Pretty Good!!
Reviewer: Josephine Braun from Tucson, Az. Robert Markley Salon Spa  Sat Mar 15 2008

I use to use these hot rollers at my previous location, Markley Salon. We use to do many updos for weddings. They heat up in less than 5 min. They get very hot. I would recommend these.
