I use to texturize my hair and decided a year and a half ago to return to my beautiful naturally curls. Like most black women who are making this tuff decision I was very worried about how to manage my hair during the growing out phase. For me, cutting off all relaxed hair was not an option just because short hair would not compliment my face. I decided that I would continue to blow dry and flat iron my hair until all relaxed hair was trimmed out. I found that this hair dryer did a fantastic job during the transition. It saved my hair from being dried out and most people could not tell that I had stopped putting a relaxer in my hair. My hair is softer and healthier now than it was before. Of course having the occasional treatment has also contributed to the health of my locks but I truely recommend this product for those who want the results of a hot hair dryer without the damage. In addition, I also read the reviews before I purchase this product. Although the buttons could be better place it was a minor adjustment to make and within two uses there were no accidental shut-offs.
Love it!

I love the BabyBliss Carrera hair dryer. It dries my hair within minutes and my hair is not frizzy at all. The blow dryer makes my hair shiny and soft. I have used nice $25 and $30 blow dryers in the past and none have them can even compare to the BabyBliss hair dryer. The BabyBliss is awesome. I didn't realize how poorly my cheaper blow dryers dried my hair until I started using the BabyBliss dryer. I will definitely recommend this blow dryer to others.

Love this blow dryer - lightweight & small, yet powerful (1900 watts). Really makes my hair shiny for some reason and seems to blow hair dry very quickly. The texture on the outside of the blow dryer makes it stay put on the counter if I put it down while still running - which I tend to do alot during styling. Best blow dryer I've had in a while.........
Fantastic product

This is a really great hair dryer. My daughter loved mine so much that she was always using it, so I ended up getting her one of her own. It really does leave your hair smoother and has a nice weight/balance. The only reason I didn't give it an "excellent" rating is that the rubberized housing peels off really easily, so it's not long before the dryer isn't looking too good. However, this doesn't affect the performance. Overall a real nice product.

The Babyliss Pro Carrera Ceramic Ionic Hair Dryer not only blows my hair out quickly but reduces the amount of frizz. It would take me 30-45 minutes to do my hair now it takes about half the time. A quick blowout and a run through with the flat iron and I'm out the door.
Great Hairdryer

I hesitated buying this because of the price - never spent more than $20 on a hairdryer, but I love this hairdryer. It's a bit heavy and it's easy to turn it off while holding it, but it dries great and my hair looks great. Worth the money.
Great and not expensive

I am so happy to have purchased a 'professional' grade hairdryer. It definitely cuts down on drying time which is always the biggest issue for me. It leaves hair shiny, and when used in conjunction with the sedu flat iron my hair looks like I just came from the salon.
Did I expect too much?

After reading the reviews, I decided to purchase the Carrrera because I was looking for a hair dryer that would dry my hair faster and keep me from having to use my flat iron or curler. My hair is medium texture, colored and wavy (tends to get frizzy). Well, maybe my technique is wrong, or I am expecting too much from a hair appliance, but the results are less than I expected I guess it does dry a bit faster, but I still have to use my flat iron or curler. I gave it an "above average" rating because of the quality. It is very sturdy and quieter than other hair dryers. Also, a little heavier, but hey.....why not keep arms toned while drying hair! Because of the expense, I am committed to making this hair dryer work for me.
No more frizzie hair!

This is a really good blow dryer from a very good manufacturer greatly improved from previous models when it comes to the weight.
Fast with good results. I an giving it an above average because it is made like a tank. No flimsy casing here. I only with they would make it even lighter...
Love the long cord!!!

This is not a heavy blow dryer. I have not had trouble with the buttons being in the wrong area (as others had mentioned). Seems to dry my hair faster and helps take some of the wave out of it.
Very happy with my purchase!!!
Babyliss Pro Carrera Hair Dryer w/Diffuser

I really like this hair dryer in part because the diffuser doesn't pop off the hair dryer like my universal diffuser used to. The cermic housing of the dryer is great because it keeps the outside cool. The airvent is easy to clean. The airflow is even. With the diffuser on, however, the warm setting is too cool to dry my hair (I've got pretty long and thick hair, it takes a while anyway). This by far the best hairdryer I've owned. Well worth the extra $$ over the cheap $20-$30 dryers that I was running through before.
Not all its cracked up to be...

Looks nice, feels nice.... but ends there. Really heavy, even though it advertises how light it is supposed to be, and it didn't blowdry hair any faster than your average, basic blowdryer. Nothing special with this one, except for the above-average price.
Wow, I'm really impressed!

I'm kicking myself for not discovering this hair dryer earlier on. I recieved it quickly in the mail and tried it out right away. I purposely didn't use much conditioner and put in minimal product in order to test just how frizz-free it would make my hair.
The results were great! This was the only time in my life that I was able to blow dry my wavy, thick, non-shiny hair without it becoming a frizzy mess! It stayed smooth all during the drying process. When I was finished, my hair was shiny and I only had to do a small amount of finishing touches with my flat iron. I am so pleased with this purchase.
It was a little tricky at first finding the right orientation for my fingers on the handle so that I wouldn't accidentally click it off or change the settings, but I figured out that if I hold it further down and not wrap my fingers all the way around (sort of clutching the sides of the handle with my fingers)then it worked just great. And it wasn't too heavy. My conair felt only a little bit lighter than this, so it was still manageable.

There is one concern..
1. It is a little heavy.. your arm gets tired
My Girlfriend Loves it!

I bought my Girlfriend this hairdryer for X-Mas and she loves its! Whenever we go out now I no Longer have to wait 20mins for her to dry her hair. This dryer cuts the time in half. Her hair looks and feels healthier and her hair shines like someone hooked her up with armorall. She looks fantastic!
There were two things that concerned her.
1. it was a little heavy.
2. the buttons are in an odd place so she kept shutting it off by accident but she is used to it now.

The hair dryer performs well with the exception of the placement of the buttons, which by their location keep getting hit by your hand and turning the dryer on and off. Dryer is slighly heavy and does not seem to dry my hair faster than other non Ionic Dryers.
Great for long hair

This is my first high quality hair dryer and it is amazing! I have long hair and this dryer cuts the drying time in half (really!) and leaves my somewhat frizzy hair shiny and smooth. Some comments have been made about the positioning of the switches, but I have not found that to be a problem. This dryer is much quieter than your average drug store model, and the long cord is a wonderful feature. If you are tired of blasting your eardrums and spending too much time drying your hair, this is the dryer for you - well worth the money.

The BablylissPro Carrera dryer has thus far proved to be one of the best we have used. Quietness, versatility, cost, and power are its greatest attributes. Service life is the only remaining unknown since we received it only two months ago. I would recommend it based on our experience.
