I had my mother buy this for me for christmas last year she tried it and loved it so I bought one for her and then my sister used it and she loved it so I bought one for her. I do not get as much frizzy fly away hair with this dryer!

When I first saw this hair dryer I just knew that I must have it right away. There are more things that I love about than there are things that I hate about it. One con is the cold shot button! Instead of having a flat cold shot button that is easily accessible and easy to push they don't have any extra button for cold shot at all. To lock in the style with cool air you have to click, with your hands holding a hair brush, pomades, mousses, and gels on all ten fingers two pushes to get the cold air to come on! It is so inconvenient to use the cool air when you are really busy and don't have time to fool around which in my book makes it a real minus. Secondly, the on high speed the dryer gets so hot that if you don't watch what you are doing you could easily burn your client's scalp as well as burn your own hands! Thirdly, it is a little heavy for a hair dryer but I am a man with strong hands so that doesn't really bother me at all. That is pretty much everything that I can think of that is negative about the hair dryer. The positives are faster and smoother hair drying. It really does get the job done fairly fast. I love the power that it has compared to all of the other hair dryers that I have used in the past - and believe me I have used them all...This is an overall great hair dryer but it can slow you down sometimes with the incorrect location of the cool shot button and the sometimes extra too hot heating that it provides. If you can live with those things then this is definitely the hair dryer for you. Other than that it is a fast pace and powerful hair drying tool.

Love the power of this drier. My only complaint is that it is way, way too hot to use with the HairWare Portable Dryer Bonnet. Since it only has a hot and cold setting, you cannot reduce the heat. Otherwise, if using it to dry hair with a brush, I highly recommend it.

Product Rating: 1 okk...everyone likes this dryer but i hatedd it!
Reviewer: Melissa from new york  Sun Jan 08 2006

ok i bought this dryer did my hair and i loveddd it..at first that is...i did realize that while i was blowing my hair the first time i smelled something burning...not a strong smell but kind of like the burning of plastic every now and then...the second time i used the blower i smelled that same smell and this time as i was running my fingers through my hair in between blowing it i felt a chunk of plastic tangled in my hair!...i immediately went to take the plastic out and with the plastic came a chunk of my hair...this happened to me twicee...the plastic from the nozzle was melting in my hair and burning it...when i looked on the floor i saw so much of my hair...it was horrible...i mean this blower makes ur hair look nice but if u put ur hair too close to the nozzle at times it burns off...i REALLLLY wouldnt recommend this dryer unless ur ok with ur hair burning off

Product Rating: 4 YOU NEED TO READ THIS REVIEW
Reviewer: Tracey from Charlottesville, Virginia  Wed Jan 04 2006

I'm a hugely skeptical person. I read reviews and I'm sitting there probably just as you are thinking to myself, yeah right, that just can't be true. Let me tell you what is true.

I have extremely thick hair with length about 4" below my shoulders. It takes me a very long time to dry my hair completely. So long in fact, most days I would opt to put my hair up and when I got home from work and took it down, it would still be soaking wet.

Now I can dry my hair in under five minutes with this dryer. If you have natually wavy and frizzy hair, don't get me wrong, you still need to use a brush when drying to give it proper style. But this coupled with one of the ionic flat irons - it's the perfect match. I can't stand drying my hair with a brush and doing it stroke after stroke until I get it just right. I want to just dry my hair freestyle until it is completely dry. Now I can do this because I also use an ionic flat iron to take away the frizz and give my hair the "just stepped out the salon" look. It takes 5 minutes to completely dry and 5 minutes to completely flat iron (ionic). That means I have perfect hair in 10 minutes or less. Gorgeous, healthy looking hair with NO hair product. Remember these ionic tools put moisture back into the hair while styling so there is no need to use the products you've become addicted to trying to tame that wild hair.

Give it a try... you won't be sorry.

To dispell a few other reviews... 1) the dryer is not heavy, 2) the difuser nozzel has only fallen off when I actually hit it on the sink or something by accident. 3) and yes, you WILL dry your hair in half the time.

Oh, and the ionic flat iron I also purchased on this site. I bought the sedu with the highest ratings. Its not the best so I recommend maybe trying something different.

Reviewer: Jeanette from Denton  Fri Nov 11 2005

I researched professional hairdryers online because a new store bought hairdryer was so bad it didn't even give heat. I was tired of buying inexpensive, less quality dryers and purchased the Babyliss online. It worked great for about two months and then slowly the dryer seemed to have trouble with power on the low heat/low output settings. One day, about six months after the purchase, the dryer just stopped working. I am upset because this is the situation I had wanted to avoid all along. I paid a descent amount of money for this dryer and now it is in the trash.

Product Rating: 3 Good and Bad.....
Reviewer: Carrie   Wed Nov 09 2005

There are good and bad things about this blow dryer. It does dry your hair very quickly if that is what you are looking for. I have thick, naturally curly, long hair and it dried it in half the time it usually takes me. My hair was also a lot smoother (although a little flat). However, the nozzel (as other people said) kept falling off. One reviewer said that she hot glued it on, but I didn't want to spend this much on a blow dryer and have to make modifications because the nozzel kept flying off. I also didn't like how it only had two heat settings (Hot & Cold). I felt that the hot was too hot for my hair (which is naturally curly as I said, and colored). Maybe if you don't have any damage to your hair at all, this high of heat would be ok, but it wasn't for me. I think I am going to try the Bablyiss Carerra and see if that works better.

Product Rating: 3 Not that impressed
Reviewer: Wasted Money from Florida  Fri Oct 28 2005

This dryer is very heavy and the on/off buttons are not placed in a user-friendly spot (right where you hold on to it). I haven't noticed a huge difference in drying time or the way my hair looks in the end. I definately won't buy another dryer like this, I would rather just pay $15 at my nearest retail store for a cheap dryer.

Product Rating: 2 No Luck with this dryer
Reviewer: Amelia Pignataro from New York  Sat Oct 22 2005

After spending much time comparing dryers as to proformance, price and previous reviews I decided this was the dryer for me. I have very fizzy long hair that needs to be dried quickly to maintain the straight look I like. My first dryer lasted 5 months before it just died one day. Spoke with customer service returned dryer by mail, since it was gotten on line. Replacement dryer lasted 2 months be fore it died. After spending so much money for this dryer I expected to be using it for a long time.

Worth every penny. I didn't think I'd notice a difference, but I did. My hair is much shinier and smoother.

Product Rating: 3 Thermal Ionic okay - Carrera is better
Reviewer: Eva McClintock from Los Angeles, CA  Fri Oct 21 2005

I had previously purchased the Babybliss Carrera model and LOVED it. Unfortunately it died. So I had to purhase another and decided to try the Thermal Ionic model and well - I preferred the Carrera. This a good blow dryer and I am happy to have it as a back up but I am awaiting the receipt of my new Carrera. On another note w/regards to Babybliss products, I was able to return the non-functioning model and a replacement (through the warranty)- is on its way. I love the Babybliss products and Conair's (Babybliss parent company) customer service is great! You can't go wrong with these products!

Product Rating: 5 Great hairdryer
Reviewer: Emily from California  Fri Oct 14 2005

First of all, I just have to say that this hairdryer is simply amazing. I am a very discerning shopper and shopped around extensively before deciding on this dryer. I ultimately chose this one because of the glowing reviews, all of which I can confirm. I have very long, think, and wavy hair and this dryer literally cut my drying time in half. My hair is shinier, and less frizzy (although still poofy). I love this dryer! The price is a little much, but SO worth it. One warning: it is slightly heavy, but nothing unmanageable. Just takes a little bit of time to get used to. BUY THIS DRYER! So, so good and very powerful!

Product Rating: 4 Fast drying time
Reviewer: susan   Tue Oct 04 2005

I really like this hair dryer. It's not as great as I thought it might be, from reading other reviews, but it does seem to dry the hair faster, even when it's not set to the highest heat setting. It didn't seem to make the hair any smoother or straighter, as some said it did, I still need to use a flat iron, but the speed at which it dries is very nice, and it's not as loud as some others I have used. It is a little heavier than other dryers, but it's not a big deal. It's also nice to have all those settings (heat and speed). The 3 year manufacturer's warranty is a big plus.

Works great on blow out’s.

Product Rating: 4 Wow!
Reviewer: Fran K. from NJ  Sun Sep 25 2005

First of all I never write reviews. I am usually too busy, forget or the product just doesn't warrant one.

However, when I received this dryer just 23 hours after I ordered it on the net, I was pretty impressed. It dried my hair in no time flat and made it shiney and straight. I used to have to fight with my old heavy dryer.

It is somewhat heavier than I would like, but the arm workout is worth it!

Product Rating: 5 Fantastic hair dryer
Reviewer: Jacqui from Massachusetts  Wed Sep 21 2005

I love this hair dryer. I purchased it in mid-July 2005 and have never had such a great dryer! It makes my hair look straight and sleek, as straight and sleek as my flat iron - which has happily been retired. In addition to making my hair look great, I don't see as much damage to my hair and it takes half the time to dry. I have long course, naturally curly hair, that tends to get frizzy when dried, but no more.

I do have to say that like many other reviewers, I initially found the dryer itself to be heavy, but quickly got used to the weight of it. I also did run into a problem with the dryer where it was overheating, but I returned it to Conair, who replaced the dryer, free of charge, within 2 weeks.

Product Rating: 4 So far, so good!
Reviewer: alix from seattle, wa  Tue Sep 20 2005

I've used this hair dryer for about two weeks now and thus far i'm really satisfied. my hair does seem legitimately smoother with fewer fly-aways. however, the dry time isn't really any faster than my last cheap hair dyrer, but i think my old hairdyrer was frying my hair with too much heat. so i'm happy with my investment. it is way more powerful and the multiple heat and air force settings are nice. i definitely recommend it as an investment for someone who regularly dries their hair.

Product Rating: 3 BaByliss Thermal Ionic Hair Dryer
Reviewer: April from Ohio  Tue Sep 20 2005

The dryer is a bit heavier than I anticipated. I don't care for the fact the nozzle is fixed and can't be moved into a vertical position. In addition, the ridges on the side of the dryer prevent the use of a diffuser. The various temperature settings are difficult to regulate.
The one positive it that I have extremely thick, curly hair and the dryer is powerful enough to cut several minutes off the drying time.
