It shuts off after about 1 min of drying now. I've had it for about 1 year. Not a great value.

This hair dryer does it's job but I think it's too powerful for its own good simply because I had it for a year, and used it maybe three times a week....it sparked and blew after one year. I just ordered another one three months ago and now it shuts off by itself because it gets too hot apparently. I'm highly disappointed. I suggest trying another hair dryer.

I have had a Babyliss dryer for the past two years and it died recently. It gets regular but not super heavy use. It was great while it lasted, but I really expected it to live longer. Find a different dryer if you want a long-lasting product.

I am thrilled with this Babyliss hair dryer. It was a little overwhelming to see all the different professioal brands and models out there but I did my research thoroughly and decided on the Babyliss Paris pros. The company was started in 1960 in Paris by the top stylist and his partner, and has led the european market in innovative technology and haircare appliances. After consulting a Babyliss representative, I chose the thermal dual ionic dryer because of its superior ionic technology and 2000w power -- the rep thought this one would be the best for my long, thick hair. She was right. My hair has always been healthy with the special care I give it but it's even more beautiful now: it looks like I just stepped out of the salon every day. It is the power and heat that make the thermal ionic dryer so effective and efficient, and which produce the results we all want. It is not damaging to the hair because of the ionic technology, leaving my hair silky soft and smooth. I use my hands to style my hair and it is never too hot, even on high heat, but dries so fast and thoroughly -- 3 to 5 minutes, depending on how fast I dry it after shampooing. My hair is just as frizzy as ever, if not more so. It gets way too hot too soon, and doesn't dry thoroughly despite the high temperature. If it didn't promise frizz free hair, it would be a decent dryer, delivering the expected.

I have been using the Babyliss Thermal Ionic hair dryer for two months now and couldn't be happier with it. Whereas previously I dreaded the task of drying my hair, and always running late because of the time spent doing so, now I actually look forward to it because the results are fantastic and it only takes a few minutes. When I saw my stylist recently for a haircut, he told me my hair looked fantastic and that I didn't need a cut for another month. He also noted that my hair was "in great condition." The only change I'd made was this amazing Babyliss hair dryer. It's power, ionic technology and heat -- but not too hot -- are responsible for my salon-perfet results. I'm letting my friends and family know what a huge difference this professional product has made in my life and my looks. I love Babyliss and recommend it highly!

I wanted to get a more professional look and spoke to my hairdresser about what she used; she has one of these and suggested that I try it. I could see a difference the very first time I used it...so impressed that when I travel now, I pack this instead of counting on hotel dryers! Cuts the drying time in half, gives me a silky soft look - what is not to love?!

I wish that I had read the other reviews more carefully. This is a great product (while it lasts) but has a very short life. Don't waste your money because you'll end up having to purchase a new one shortly.

This is the best hair dryer I have ever had. My hair is really thick and takes a long time to dry but this dryer has helped reduced the time to dry.

I purchased this dryer about a year ago. I loved it. It dried super fast and made my natural curly hair less frizzy. Last night I turned it on smelled something burning and then it blew up. Sparks flew out of the cord and all. I paid $75.00 and I don't think it should have died only after a year. It's too bad cause it does work great on natural curly hair but as I have read in the other reviews this thing is known for going dead quick.

I did extensive research before choosing a new hairdryer for my long, thick, straight and healthy, pampered hair, including talking to expert stylists, and I chose the Babyliss Pro Thermal Dual Ionic 2000w model. My old dryer would leave my hair dry and coarse looking, despite the best hair care produsts. I am so glad I got this great dryer. While ceramic technology is important for styling wands and irons, I learned that it is basically irrelevant in a hairdryer. The dual-chamber Ionic model is superb in drying my hair in 5 minutes flat and leaving it shiny, smooth and salon-perfect beautiful. It is NOT too heavy; it is substantial and well-designed. The attachment stays on perfectly. Best of all, unlike other dryers, it has a 3-year warranty: Conair stands behind their excellent product. I highly recommend this dryer!

This item was purchased JUNE 27TH, 2005. IT IS 8 MONTHS TO THE DAY AND ITS DEAD ALREADY. I BARELY USED IT ONCE A WEEK. I DID NOT OVERUSE IT, DROP IT, ETC AND IT DIED ALREADY! WHAT A WASTE OF 80 DOLLARS. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER CONAIR PRODUCT.

I had this blow dryer for less than two months when it started cutting out while I was blow drying my hair. After doing this on three different occasions sparks flew out and only cold air followed- it is completely dead already!! This happened right in the middle of getting ready for work- I would avoid this dryer all together- it's great while it lasts but it doesn't last long!!

I have had this hair dryer since August 2005. It is now February 2006. From August till February this dryer was the most amazing (literally life-changing) product ever. However, the last time I plugged it in and turned it on, the dryer just STOPPED working. I do not know why. It is completely broken and I do not know how to fix it. I reset the product multiple times, tried different outlets- all to no avail. I am very unhappy with this fact. The best hair product ever is now defunct.

This was a decent hair dryer and I was happy with the results, so I ordered the Pro Tourmaline TT 5000 to see if it would be better, but unfortunately I never got to try it out. The service from Folica was extremely disappointing. Not only did they ship out the wrong item after making me wait for two weeks, they also ignored my 30 e-mails to customer service to have the problem corrected. The dryer is definitely a winner but the service folica was a big time looser. This incident has turned me away from Folica. I will never use this site again. I am sure I can get better prices and services at e-bay.

I purchased this dryer about 18 months ago - other than being quite heavy, it did the job of drying my hair. A couple of weeks ago the dryer "died." Plugged it in several times to different outlets, pushed all the reset buttons visable to no avail. Don't buy it - huge waste of money!!!

I have owned this dryer for 9 months. Turned it on this morning and sparks shot out the front (glad it was not pointed at my head), then it shut off. Time to see how the warranty works.

i was looking for a hairdryer with same performance as the european babyliss dryer i had. This is a great product and will straighten your hair beautifully. i am very happy with babyliss products
the only problems: 1)its can become very hot 2)the nozzle does not swivel... it incases the dryer.(which can be good ) .. for me this took some time to position my arm to get the nozzle on the right spot of my hair (can create uncomfortable arm position.. which phased out over time )
