This straightening iron works pretty well. It heats up faster than my old one and straightens it pretty good. My hair is curly and up to my shoulder and it takes about 30 minutes to have it straight and able to wear it down. The bad thing about this iron is that if you get close to your scalp you get burned because there is no protective covering on the side as you can kind of see in the picture. This is a problem for me because my rootes are wavy. Overall it is above average. Good luck with your desicion.

I have had my straightening iron for the past 2 years, and it still works like as if it was its first time being used. Plus, I use my iron EVERYDAY! It takes me less than 6 minutes to do my hair (that's when I take my precious time). I have no breakage or any form of split ends. All you need to know the wider the plates the faster you get it done.

I have extremely curly hair with basically curly sue curls. This has been the only thing that I have used that has given me the sleek straight hair that I want without burning my hair or leaving it frizzy. Its so much faster tahn roller or a blower dryer and i feel like my haor is just in better condition. Once you get the technique I can do my very long her curly hair in about 30 mintues which is down from an hour and a half. I highly recommend it.
Great! For a little while

I have gone thru TWO irons. They have worked great for three months and that's it. It was very frustrating the first time that I went to straighten my hair and my iron did not work. I like it so much I decided to give it one more try and once again I was disappointed!

This BaByliss PRO 2&1/2 inch flatiron is the best. I know you will think that I am saying this because everyone else is but I trully love this flatiron. My hair is supper curly and I am always trying to find something to get my hair strait and this truly works. My hair dresser uses this flat iron and he told me about it so I bought it. This flatiron brings out your hairs natural shine with bone straight results. I had to decide between the CHI and this flatiron and I am soo.. glad I picked this one. I couldnt have asked for better results.
I love this flat iron!!!

This flat iron has got to be the absolute best! I used a regular "hot tools" flat iron in the past and mucked it all up because of having to use hairspray in order to get the style I wanted. With this flat iron, I didn't have to use anything and my hair came out super smooth and silky! It has a temperature setting dial and heats up in no time so it comes in handy when you're in a rush! I would totally recommend this flat iron to anyone!
Babyliss does straighten, but takes a long time...

About a year ago I really wanted to have my hair straight. My hair is very, very, very thick and has absolutely NO weight! my hair is also fairly frizzy and a little curly. I like the curls when it's still wet from a shower but then it dries and goes really puffy and ugly and makes my head look big =P
Anyway, so I went to a salon and got my hair straightened with a babyliss (and she also put other products in my hair). I was sooo pleased with the result, I bought my own.
I'm not UNHAPPY I bought it but it's still not my dream come true. it straightens my hair O.K. after about 1 to TWO HOURS!!! which is WAY too long to spend on you hair everyday, not to mention the fact that I'd WANT to straighten it in the morning before school, which isn't an option if it takes that long to straighten. Also, it leaves ugly bumps of hair on the back of my head which seem to be empossible to iron out and which look very, very ugly.
So, even after I spend 2 hours, or more on my hair I Still end up wearing it in braids or pig tails or a pony tail. But on the ligther side, if you have only medium thick hair, or thin hair, you'll probably really enjoy this iron. It does make my hair straight..but with little waves and bumps which ruin the effect, they make it obvius I straightened my hair...and they make it look like I did a bad job too.
Just a tip for ppl who like straightening their hair, don't cut your hair to make it easier to straighten. it DOES NOT make it easier. On the contrairy, it makes it almsot emposible to straighten casue your hair has no weight and jsut puffs up again.
I jsut ordered a Sedu straightener based on the great reviews, and I sincerely hope it takes less time and straightens my hair better. even when my hair is straightened with the babyliss I still can't leave it out and be confident it looks good...the babyliss is pretty good, I'd say it's in kinda in the middle of the scale, it's not bad, but it's deffinitly not my dream come true.
Oh, and after a little while (two months or so) it's starts to really stink and gets brown marks on the straightener...that could be jsut because I straightened my hair when it was wet once tho...that was a big mistake =)
WOW!

I've had a few flat irons in the past, but none of them worked very well, my hair either went wavy or frizzy. With my hair type, poofy and a bit frizzy, and hard to keep straight, this one works amazingly!! My hair stays straight all day, smooth and silky, and it doesn't fry my hair either!!
Works Great!

This is the first straightening iron I have owned, so I cannot compare it to other products; however, I think it works great! It heats up fast and makes my hair shiny and beautifully straight.

I have long..curly...think..frizzy...unmangable hair...if i don't do anything wif my hair...it will be very pouffy n ugly..thank god of the babybliss...this works extreamly well...but my only problem is that i had it only for 6 months (i think)..but it hasn't been a year...n the cerimic is already gone...n' it leaves a burning smell in my hair...not to mention brown things on my flat iron....now i dunno if juss mine is like that....but can one of you tell me.....

I bought this iron a month back and so far I am very happy with it! I have very curly hair and it does a great job of staightening it. Just FYI...I use this iron in conjunction with a professional hair dryer (Babyliss)and a salon-bought anti-frizz product.

Best straightener i have ever used. my hair is naturally big, puffy, and frizzy. the iron keeps it soft and smooth now. I am on my second one, bc my 1st iron did break... it wouldnt stay on. the best part was that there is a 1 yr guarantee and they sent me a new one... I love my babyliss!!!

This straightener is pretty good, it makes my curly hair straight and smooth, but it pulls at your hair alot!

I got the Babyliss pro ceramic straightener after my Solano saphire model fried. This straightener heats up exeptionally quick, and straightens my very thick, very curly hair. My hair was lacking the look of moisture with my old straightener, and the look didnt hold up for more than an hour. The babyliss model gave my hair a healthy look and stayed that way for the whole day! My only complaint, is that after using this on my hair, whenever I felt like wearing it naturally curly, it didn't cur'l like it normally would. I don't know what exactly it did to my hair to give that result, but i am upset that i can no longer have my curls.

Forever plagued with curly/wavy and frequently frizzy locks, this is the first straightening iron that I have had such awesome results with. The ceramic technology keeps hair super smooth and silky and the high heat makes it oh so straight. Perfect for taming a wild head, an A+ for sure! Recommended to everyone... but be careful because it becomes addicting once you find out the results.
Ceramic iron so great

The ceramic iron is the greatest thing and well worth the investment (I sed to pay $10 for a flat iron)! Keeps my very curly hair straight and doesn't frizz when it's humid! My hair is silky and keeps the moisture which used to leave when using the curling iron.
My experience with Folica was very positive although I wasn't offered free shipping! Very straightforward buying experience. And cheap compared to the price I paid for this at a salon.
Great when it Worked

When I first got this flat iron, it worked like a charm. After a few months though, it didn't heat up as much and took longer to straighten my hair. Eventually, after 6 months or so, the heating element stopped working all together.
