Product Rating: 1 Pulls Hair
Reviewer: Sue from Canada  Wed Oct 18 2006

I've had this iron for a couple years, I just recently bought a GHD Iron because this one is a piece of JUNK. If you enjoy you hair being pulled get it.
I recomend spending a little more and buying a GHD it's 100% worth it.

I just got the Babyliss straightener yesterday and I am sooo happy! It is so fantastic!!! Reading these comments it looks like a lot of poeple are unhappy but I am SOO happy because I was only used to the drug store/discount store hair straightners where it takes 45 minutes to straighten my hair. So I am extremely pleased with my straightner!! It only took 3 minutes!!! thumbs up!!

I've got to tell you all, that this iron is the worst. It doesn't even straighten your hair! It's OK if you already have straight hair, and just want to polish the way it looks, but it doesn't actually "straighten" wavy or curly hair. As a matter of fact, when I finish, I have to go over it again with my round brush and hairdryer to get all the kinks this thing makes in my hair. It is just plain bad. I think that a lot of people who write reviews are excited with they get their product in the mail and run to the computer to validate that their thing is the best. Take it from me, I've had this thing for 2 years. I've used many irons, and this is the worst of them all.

Product Rating: 5 WOW..AMAZZING!!!!
Reviewer: Ashley from Ontario,Canada  Fri Aug 25 2006

WOW I could not wait to comment on this product! I just got it today and used it and WOW! I have always had VERY thick, wavy, long hair and up until now I have never been able to use or find a product that works SO WELL! and I have tryed MANY different products over the course of years and this product is simply incredible! It was very quick(took about 15-20mins max. to do my entire, middle of back length, wavy, thick hair),easy to use,did NOT dry out or fry my hair what-so-ever! Took about 10 mins. to get to the temperature I wanted it at(didn't even have to turn full blast). I am shocked and amazzed that after so much bad luck with different products that this one worked so well!! I would DEFFINITLY recomend THIS hair straightner to ANYONE with thick, wavy hair that has never been able to find another product elsewhere!!!!!!

Product Rating: 2 Hate it.

I bought this model over a year ago. It doesn't live up to its expectations. Stay away. I'm on this site right now to finally replace it.

Product Rating: 4 Love It!
Reviewer: Christine from San Francisco, California  Fri Aug 04 2006

This straighter is great! It gets really hot and works really, really well. I have thick, course hair and it straightens and smooths it out and it lasts for days. The only annoying thing is sometimes my hair gets caught in it and it tears pieces of my hair out if Im not careful, but I think that may be the case with most straightners. Also, the tempature gage is on the inside so sometimes if youre not paying attention it will slip into a different temp. Oh and also, mine broke only a couple months after owning it for no reason but Folica.com was super great about taking it back and promptly getting me a new one. So overall, I say get this straightner I love it, and my friends have gone out and gotten their own after using mine!

Product Rating: 2 It's ok but there's better
Reviewer: Sharon   Wed Jul 19 2006

I have very very curly hair, and when I used it, it took a bit longer than my other straightening irons. It's hard to get into tiny spots with the wider plates. If you have wavy hair I would recomened it, but definitly not with curly hair like mine!

Product Rating: 2 Not for the curly hair..
Reviewer: Paula from Toronto , Ontario  Mon Jun 05 2006

This product is the best for wavy , already straight hair.Dont keep your hopes up if your curly hair , the paint starts chipping off the "ceramic" , and becomes easily dirty. Along with that its so haeavy weighted , weighing down your hand whne your starightening your hair and its wideness doesnt let you get close to the roots..

wouldnt recommend it.

Product Rating: 5 ohh so easy
Reviewer: becky from santa cruz  Mon Jun 05 2006

This flat iron for a 2 n a halfer is easy to hold and get to those awkward places behind ya. It also heats up really fast and works like a champ. I had bought a wigo about a year ago and the thing never worked well. Recently I tried a friends Babyliss and I couldn't believe how easy it could be to straighten my hair. So I did it and bought one similar to hers (her's is an older style which worked great but was too big and difficult to hold) and I love it! My hair looks sleek and as if it were just done in the salon everytime! Yeaha!

Product Rating: 4 suprised on how well it worked
Reviewer: Amanda-Theresa from New Jersey  Sat Jun 03 2006

I have alot of curly thick hair. I just got this straightener and am very suprised on how well it worked. It does have a strong smell but I think it's worth it. It heated up quickly and really did the job.

Product Rating: 5 The Best One Out There!!
Reviewer: Denise from Moncton, New Brunswick - Canada  Tue May 30 2006

BaByliss Professional Ceramic Hair Straightening Iron Is The Best One Out There! I Have Long Thick Hair And Always Had A Hard Time Finding A Straightner That Would Leave The Results I was Looking For. Many Other Products Out There Would Take Me Over An Hour Sometimes Just To Get My Hair Done, Now This One Only Takes Half Of My Time To Do And My Hair Shines And Is Smooth. Before I Did Not Know What It Was Like To Have Smooth, Silky Thin Hair And Now I Do. I Am So Happy That I Found This Product!

Product Rating: 5 Loved it!
Reviewer: Erica   Sun May 28 2006

I bought this product about 5 years ago and it lasted until today... I think that it was a great purchase and definetly worth the money because it lasted long and worked beautifully on my wild and crazy curly/frizzy hair!

Product Rating: 3 OK...Don't waste your money.
Reviewer: Melissa from New York  Mon May 22 2006

I have really curly hair and this doesn't really straighten well. It takes so long, I then used Chi and it worked excellent. A little bit more money but so worth it! If you have thinner and straighter hair this probably work. But if your like me, don't waste your money on this

Product Rating: 5 Even better than my previous flat iron
Reviewer: klowey from Berkeley, California  Wed May 17 2006

I was concerned when my previous flat iron, also made by BaByliss started to fade and become flakey (after many many years). I had loved it and wanted something equally as good. Well, this product simply surpasses it all around. I like the wider iron surface, it handles well, the ceramic surface is great, the textured top to the iron is nice, and it has a range of heat settings. I use a middle heat setting and it completely straightens my hair AND I can't believe how long it lasts. I often don't even have to straighten it again for days. It also has an ON/OFF button, in addition to plugging it into an outlet. Simply ROCKS!

Product Rating: 4 Really Excellent

Customer Image 1:

This is a really good straightener. I used a chi before but the heat was just tooo intense for my hair.
A friend of mine had a babyliss and suggested i try it because it had a heat dial. Once i tried hers, i bought one the next week.

I have in-betweeen hair. Its wavy, almost curly, with fine-to medium thickness. It makes my hair smooth, straight, and soft and shiny within 15-20 minutes of straightening. It easily gets the job done for me, and i only turn it up half-way.

For those who say it fries your hair, your clearly turning it up too high for your hair type. Obviously it will result in burnt hair and split ends.
However, like with any heat styler, expect to experience slightly dryer hair. Use a protectant spray!

The straightener may get slightly "tan" in color, but that is most-likey from using product in your hair at the same time as straightening. Although, after about 4 months of using it, i noticed a small "bubbling" on the ceramic. As i touched it, some of the ceramic did flake off. Apparently im not the only one this has happened to. Since it comes with a year warranty, I returned it to my salon and they had a new one ordered for me in a weeek. No problem.

So quality wise, i would say it is worth the money, because altough there may be chipping over time, if you take good care of it, itll last longer. It is a reallly efficient product besides that and i highly reccomend it. It does wonders and holds the straightness.

Product Rating: 2 Not worth the price
Reviewer: Sue from Los Angeles, CA  Sat Apr 29 2006

This flat iron is much less than what I expected. It did not do the job for me. I tried it many different ways and at many different times and my hair just did not get straight. I had to work my hair in small strands at a time and it still didn't do the job. I'm very disappointed in this product. Not worth the money I paid for. It just didn't deliver for me.

Product Rating: 5 Love it!!!
Reviewer: Billie Jo from Kennesaw, GA  Sat Apr 22 2006

I was very hestitate to purchase this flat iron because of all the bad reviews I was reading about it but I'm glad I decided to give it a shot. I've been thru alot of flat irons and this one is by far the best one yet. I've been using it for over two months now and there is no damage to my hair and it comes out straightener then ever every time I use it.Thank You!

Reviewer: mina from otario  Fri Apr 21 2006

this product was great. my friend has one and she came to a visit. she let me use it, and less then 30min my hair was so nice and straight. though i have frizzy hair in the front, that didn't turn straight. but i only used it once, that too, in a rush. but it was great. by hair was so nice that i wasn't embaressed to put my hair down anymore. the thing is i don't have one, it was one of my friends. though, now when i'm gonna wash my hair, it will turn back to its original. but i would love to get this iron.

Product Rating: 4 Definitely worth the money.
Reviewer: Jessie   Wed Apr 05 2006

this is a really excellent flat iron. it is the only flat iron i've used that makes my hair shiny and smooth (and i normally have very frizzy hair). People ask me all the time if I just got my hair done. It heats up really fast too. However, mine turned brown after almost two years, so that is the only downside.
