my aunt got this for me at a salon, i loved it at first.. it worked so well, all my friends would use it when they came over.but, the red plates start to peel and turn black, and it becomes hard to run through your hair, because its no longer smooth on the plates..i had it for about 6 months.. it stopped heating up about a week ago.. so i had to throw it out. im not sure why it stopped heating.

I got this iron a few months ago, n so far it seems to be working great!! I noticed a few scratches on the plate, and the suede covering is starting to disappear bu other than that it works just as good as the day i bought it! It does dry your hair out a lot, and without hair product it doesn't keep your hair perfectly straight, and b/c i didn't use har serum all the time like ur supposed to...my hair is brutally damaged, but thats normal and most hair irons will do that if ur not careful!! So if want it work good n not kill ur hair, use a temp setting that suits ur hair n use hair product to protect ur hair n ill work like a dream! Overall i think its well worth the money b/c ur not gonna find a tourmaline for less than this!

I recieved my iron quick and it works great! The only thing i would change about it is the size... i'd rather it ba a one ince iron. But overall it's a great purchase!

The straightener was fantastic when I first got it, but I've only had it for about 8 months and the red plates are scratched and peeling so badly, because it's only cotaed ceramic plates. Now that the plates are peeling, its starting to burn my hair now. NOt worth the money, invest in a better quality one.

This iron is ok but it's no miracle worker. I've used better though they cost maybe $180. You have to go over your hair more than once to get it really flat (and I have fairly straight hair already).

I love the iron. I have read the other comments and I have to say that if you turn the iron down you won't burn you hair. Also if you pull it fast and use something that protects your hair it works great. I have red hair and we have dry hair but this iron along with products that protect your hair it works great. I love it!!! Everytime I use it I feel like I have just walked out of the salon.

I am a hairstylist, I bought the Babyliss Iron since it was new out and it seemed to work rather well, but about a week later the red started chipping and I got another one I've had the second one for about 2 or 3 months and now it's gone on the bum stopped working. I was impressed with the iron until it started chipping. I wouldn't recommend!!!!!

I paid 149.99 Canadian for this iron. And my hair looks great. I use the highest setting. ( I am black so I definately need a hot iron). My hair is shiney and very soft. I use a flat iron smoothing spray from Matrix. I have no complaints about this iron.

oh my gosh i cant beive what this does to my hair. i got it when i was at a local hair salon b/c i really wanted one for this new hair cut i got and the first couple of times i used it i was like "oh yea its pretty good" and then the plates started getting scratched and my hair was breaking worse that it has with any other straightener.... i dont use this straightener anymore cuz my hair was killed after a week and a half of using it......i strongly recommend that you buy a high end expensive straightener instead of several cheap ones b/c in the end u end up spending the same amount.

Ok to those people who say they burnt their hair...turn the temperature down!!
It's an EXCELLEnt straightener..works as well as my friends 200$ straightener (made by hairart which is also highly recommended...BUT this one is cheaper price- equal quality) and I spent 100$ on the babyliss tourmaline!
It also works a million times better then the ceramic babyliss straightener and a billion times better then any conair or similar pieces of crap...trust me this is my fourth and most favourite straightener!!
Anyways, i am in love with this straightener and I might even marry it hahaha!

From the first moment I used it I could definately see how great this flat iron was. It straightens my hair completely! After the first couple of weeks it began to make my hair look a little damaged, but after I lowered the heat setting it was perfectly fine. This is the best flat iron I've owned so far!!

I'm a professional hairstylist and I bought this flat iron just after christmas. I was very excited because it was something new. My manager bought one two months later and we used it in the shop. All the red plating is scratched and peeling of. Luckily there is a 2 year warranty and were taking them back. I believe that this flat iron is nothing special and does not stand up to it's expectations. I woul'd not recommend that anybody purchases this product it's not worth it.

I have a professional license and have used most cheap and expensive irons on the market. I got this one recently for $100. and found that it works ok, but my hair if fine, and the hair gets stuck in the edges of the iron, and after I use it, I find at least two or more hairs that have been broken and lodged in the edge of the iron. It also makes my hair dry with static after using it, and I have used the best moisture hair products on the market. The only good thing about it is that is has a 72 month warranty. (the one I got), and that was why I got it, but I am taking it back to get another HAI convertible iron with the infra red which seems to lock in the moisture and make my hair in better condition than after I used it. The HAI stopped working after a year and half, but after trying these other ones, including the sedu, (which broke my hair off over time), and stopped working one year and one month after I got it, I am sticking with another HAI convertible ceramic for now until someone comes out with something even better.
If you like this iron, Babyliss, you will most likely love the HAI convertible with the infra red (keeps it from having static after you iron it).
Hope this info helps others make informed decisions, and hope these companies start listening to this and improving the products and warranties.

My old straighner broke so I purchased this one at my local cosmetic store. I love love love this iron! My hair is course and frizzy and this iron makes my hair feel soft and it takes out all of the frizz, too! My daughter, who has thinner hair then I just uses it on a lower setting and she loves it, too. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a new straighening iron. It makes your hair feel like you just walked out of your salon.

I have to say, this is THE best flat iron I've ever used in my life! Not only does it heat up in a sec, but it gets really hot and it stays hot. The adjustable heat is good to use and my hair doesn't get snagged when I use it. This is not a sales pitch, but everyone needs to own this. I've never used such a great flat iron that flattens my hair so quickly and makes my hair look so shiny smooth too. I'm so happy they invented this product. It truly saves time and my hair. You have to get this, you won't regret it!

I received this as a gift, and thought I would finally get relief from my wavy/curly/frizzy hair. Honestly, on a good hair day, my hair looks like an afro if I don't straighten it. The first few times I used it, I spent about 15 more mintues doing my hair than I did with my crappo $20 Conair. I just thought it was because I wasn't used to an iron like this, and it would take practice. I've used it for about a month now, and the same thing...it takes me 15 mintues longer, for a total of about 45 minutes straightening my hair. It also did a lot of damage to my hair. And everytime I turn it on, my whole hosue is filled with a burning smell that passes onto my hair. True, it gets my hair straighter, but it also makes it smell bad, and look fried. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone who cares about their hair.

My life has been changed by this product!!!!! My hair has always been unruly and frizzy and curled in wierd ways My hair is smooth silky and gorgeous EVERYBODY notices my hair!!!!! I want to buy 3 more as a back-up...in case they stop manufacturing these irons!!!!!!

I have used a ton of flat irons and this one is by far the best. I use the highest setting because I have big, curly, frizzy hair and because I can't wear it curly I have to straighten it. The first day I used this iron I fell in love. It took 10 minutes to do my hair. My hair feels so soft when I am done. I feel like I have half the hair I normally do. This is a must get. You won't have that burnt hair smell and you will love the final product.
