Product Rating: 4 Works fine
Reviewer: Rita D from Jacksonville, FL  Wed May 06 2009

I have had my dryer for almost 2 years now and its working fine. I use it about 5 days per week. It does dry my hair faster than my old regular dryer that cost about $20. I still get some frizz, but since I live in FL- humidity is an issue whatever dryer you use. Only complaint with this dryer is that the buttons are where your fingers grip the dryer and it is a design flaw but not a huge big deal once you get used to it. I also have the travel sized dryer and it works great- a lot of power in a small dryer.

After reading some of the other reviews on this website I realize my problem is very valid. Add three more dryers that broke after a year. My sister in laws and I all have the same dryer and all three broke after a year.

Product Rating: 4 Have been using everyother day since Apr 08
Reviewer: eve heran from sf ca  Sat Nov 08 2008

I bought this for my travels to Japan and have used it everyother day since it's purchase. I have mid-to-long hair which is medium fullness, I blow dry it straight and this dryer has never failed me. Avg. blow out is 12 minutes and its never turned off. Love it.

I thought I was the only one with a problem but now I read review other people wrote and everybody seem to get the same problem I think they should discontinue this hairdryer, I decided now to try another model I hope it works.

Product Rating: 3 Loved it at first!

My hair stylist told me about this dryer and said it was worth the money. I have had mine for about 9 months and now it is making funny noises. I am not sure what the exact life span of a hair dryer is but for one that does not travel a lot I would have thought this one would have lasted at least a few years. Very dissapointed.

Product Rating: 1 Two down, none to go. Highest fan speed wears it out...
Reviewer: Steve from Greenville,  Fri Jul 04 2008

My wife purchased one of these after her hair dresser recommended it. After less than a year of daily use, it started roaring. The ends of the plastic fan blades cracked where they are attached to the base of the fan disk. While running at highest fan speed, the blades flex and drag on the outer housing. A second replacement did the same thing in six months.

The mixed reviews are probably due to different fan speed users. If you plan to run this dryer at highest fan speeds, be prepared for a failure.

Product Rating: 1 LOOKS GOOD RUNS BAD
Reviewer: paige from massachusetts  Wed May 28 2008

I have had three of these dryers in less than 2 yrs. They all started out working great and then slowly they didn't seem to have as much power and then the motors started geting really loud and then they would smell and I was afraid they would blow up. Conair replaced all under warranty and have now asked me to find another of their hair dryers to choose from. The only problem is I need a professional one and it seems babyliss is there only professional product. Next time I will buy a super salano. I was much happier with that brand.

Product Rating: 1 Started so great..now it's dead
Reviewer: Layla   Sun May 18 2008

I LOVED this dryer at first...super quiet (I use it on my thick hair as well as on my kids) and made my hair look great. Now after about 10 months, the back cover popped off and it has gotten so loud and rattle-ly that my daughters won't let me use it on them.

I just ordered a Sedu from this site to replace it. I just have to say thanks to Folica for having these reviews (I know it's not just me having problems with this dryer now!) and thanks to all of you for great reviews!

Product Rating: 3 Broke after 1 year
Reviewer: Crazy Hair from Washington DC  Mon May 12 2008

I have really frizzy, unruly heair (really). The product worked OK in the first 6 months. Then I noticed it lost some of its heat. It broke a little over a year. Not the best in the market.

Product Rating: 1 A Waste of Money
Reviewer: Raja   Thu Apr 24 2008

I bought this dryer a year ago. I bought it from a store in DC. After a few months, it started maked a thunder-like sound every time I used. And I only used once a week. I had to lock myself in the bathroom every time I used because it was so loud my husband and kid could not stand it. Then one day a bad burning smell came out of it and it broke. So much for paying so much money in order to get a top-the-line product. I don't even know if there is a Babyliss custmor service that I can talk to.

Reviewer: dissatisfied from miami, fl  Sun Mar 09 2008

at first, worked really well dried my hair beautifully, then started to rattle, the back part broke off and now it like shake and smells strange, just as someone else wrote earlier in another review. i am switching to another brand because of this, seeing if i can get better for my money!

Product Rating: 1 Horrible
Reviewer: anonymous from New York, ny  Sat Feb 02 2008

I bought mine 6 months ago. Someone comes over to blow dry my hair most of the time...the dryer was used about once a week on average (maybe not even that much). Started ringing, the back part broke quickly, then the whole thing started vibrating and made a bad smell...and then just broke. Not worth the money at all...many better choices. I am very picky about what I buy, and this was a total waste.

I bought this dryer at another store but wanted to warn you not to waste your money. I have gone through 2 w/in a 2 years - my old $30 vidal sasson dryer worked 1000 better and longer!!!

Reviewer: Iza   Sat Dec 08 2007

I have used this dryer in a salon setting for over a year and I would say I dry about 10-15 heads a day. This dryer is well worth the cash. I use to use Elchim and had issues with the cords and motors breaking so this dryer came recommend from Industry Source. This little guy is light and amazingly strong with no problems to date. (By the way...looking at some of the other reviews, people don't get that with anything mechanical you can run into a dud...that is what a warrantee is for.) And if you find the darn thing for under $70 bucks with case, you got it for a steal...the seller must have priced it incorrectly.

Look, this hair dryer isn't bad. It has multiple heat settings, and fan speeds, and a cool shot if that's your thing. However, I bought this dryer at Marshall's for $39. Save your money and check out a local Marshall's for this hair dryer. Is it worth $39? Yes. Is it worth $130? No way. I am not opposed to buying high-priced items if they are worth it, like my Sedu iron, but this is a rip-off.

Product Rating: 2 Not worth the money

The dryer broke after 6 months. I only use it once per week. Totally not worth the money.

Product Rating: 1 Melted outlet
Reviewer: leslie   Sun Oct 21 2007

I've had this for less than 6 months and it completely melted my outlet- A new grounded circuit. Had to pay an electrician to repair-he said the dryer plug should have shut the dryer down when it over heated and he wouldn't get this brand if its that unsafe.

Reviewer: Isabel from Virginia  Sat Oct 06 2007

I loved this dryer for the last year. It straightened my very curly, coarse hair in record time. Now it's vibrating, making a loud grinding noise, and is VERY hot. I will NOT buy another one to replace it.

Reviewer: Amy Dorry from Milford, NJ  Wed Oct 03 2007

Ok, in Dec. 2006 I said how much I loved this dryer well, it's Oct.3, 2007 and the motor blew up. I paid $199.00 before it when on sale. I'm really disappointed but am hoping that they cover it under warranty.
