It is very powerful and does cut drying time, but not by much. Although it is a little heavy, it's not too inconvenient. My biggest problem with it is right after the warranty was up the blowdryer started to glow white hot and was emitting sparks.

I am very disappointed. I tried to get the Babyliss thermal ionic hairdryer which is discontinued and was sent this one. Its supposed to be the replacement but I think its horrible. I stand there for around 40 minutes attempting to dry my hair, and all it does it get wavy and frizzy. I don't even care about the weight. I might as well hold a brick up to my head and expect the same results. The thermal ionic dryer I borrowed from a friend dried my hair in 5 minutes, and it was completely straight but with more body than a straightener can provide. This dryer does nothing but make my hair look lopsided and disheveled. It doesn't even completely dry it. It isn't like I even have super curly hair.. my hair has a light wave, and this hair dryer just makes it look dumb. I tried it both with and without the diffuser and at that point just wanted to throw it across the room. I've dried my hair with the thermal ionic several times with no problem. This one is just horrendous. I don't know why the thermal ionic was discontinued and replaced with this thing.

Great hair dryer, probably the best dryer I've owned. It drys very fast and it's quiet. Love the weight and handle.

I really like my new blow dryer, but I have to agree with a lot of other reviews, it IS heavy. My arms do get tired after a while, and I don't even have to use it for very long because I have short hair. Also, the concentrator tends to fly right off if I don't push down on it hard enough. Other than that, it's great because it has a lot of power, and I really like the heat settings and the cool shot button. One other tiny complaint, it's not quiet! But I can deal with it because I figure that means the motor is powerful.

My sister used mine and loved it so much, I got her one for a gift. This gets my hair dry fast and leaves it shinier than others I've used. I use it to straighten my very curly hair and also with a diffuser. Its a nice powerful dryer and the price is very fair for what you get.

I never thought the right hair dryer could make a difference, but this one does. I love the the way my hair feels afterwards & it is so easy to manage.
I went on vacation for a week & used a resort supplied hair dryer & my hair was honestly hideous & unmanageable the entire time!
I am back to my BaByliss & happy as a clam with it.
It is heavy, but worth the effort to hold.
I expected more

This dryer is heavy and in addition it wasn't as quiet as it claimed to be. The switches on the handle are inconvenient. I would not recommend this product.

This dryer actually made my hair healthier and dries it in half the time! I color my hair, so it was really dead, and since I started using this, my hair is so much shinier and softer. It even makes my 4-year-old daughter's hair smoother and shinier. And in response to the people who complained about how much it weighs, I find it very easy to manage and not at all heavy in any way, and I'm no body-builder!

It dried my hair in 3/4 of the time it used to take me with my old dryer. My hair is long, naturally curly and hard to straighten. Even when I set it to the "warm" setting, it still straightened my hair. I have no complaints about this dryer and I'll recommend it to everyone. I love it!!

I've had this for a little over 2 years and it no longer blows HOT air. Not sure if its because I dropped it a few times...however, it worked wonderfully while it was working properly!

Powerful hairdryer-BUT-I've only had it one year and it no longer blows hot air, just cold. I expected it to last longer for $40.00. :(

I love this dryer! I've had it a couple of weeks now and my hair has totaly changed for the better! It is shiny, soft and healthy. I don't think it is heavy like other reviews have said, the only thing is the switches are in an odd place but you get use to it. Great dryer!!!

I am happy with the BaByliss Pro Porcelain Hair Dryer. I was sick of buying a Revlon, Conair, etc. from the drugstore every year. I have only had this dryer for about a month, so I don't know yet whether it will last. I have thick, curly hair and, used in conjunction with a large round brush, the dryer straightens my hair well. Lots of power, so it cuts drying time a little, but not a lot. The toggle switches are inconveniently located on the handle, but I have found position that works for me. The dryer is a little heavy, but manageable.

This is my second babyliss....They are the best hairdryer for the money. Dries quickly, and much more silently than most.

I never thought I'd spend more than $20 on a hair dryer, but I'm so glad I did! I have a LOT of hair and it took me at least 45 minutes to dry. This dryer does the job in 20 minutes and I love the results. It's powerful (heat and speed) and quiet - I highly recommend it!

This hairdryer dries the hair with a nice sheen, it gets very hot, however I'm a professional hairstylist and this dryer is too heavy to work with all day. Next time I'll check the weight first.

This one's light weight, and very easy to use. The nozzle stays on tight, and has a good range of hot to cool.
