after Aphogee treatment use Mizanni Kerrafuse conditioner
submitted by: Tracy in San Antonio, Tx, Sat Jan 03 2009

Ladies, If you want really soft hair after the Aphogee treatment use Mizanni's Kerrafuse conditioner, yes it is very expensive BUT it works. I saw breakage so I applied the aphogee treatment set under the dryer with a good book afterwards i applied the kerrafuse conditioner set under the dryer for 10 more minutes and then wraped my hair and set back under the dryer.( yes this takes an hour just to condition my hair ) but what is an hour to have soft hair FREE from Breakage. I do my treatment every 6 weeks to the day. every two weeks I do a 10 minute kerrafuse treatment and have my ends trimed with every relaxer. END RESULT NO MORE BREAKAGE!!!!!

How To Use and Reason's why your hair might break off.

Cardinal rules
#1. Only use this product every 6 weeks that means (once you use it one week wait six weeks or more and use it again), if you use it anytime before the 6 weeks is up your hair WILL break off.
#2. If you hair is relaxed i would suggest only using this a week BEFORE you decide to perm your hair otherwise it will strip the relaxer from your hair.
#3. Comb this product through your hair BEFORE you sit under the dryer that way you can be sure it is evenly distributed.
#4. Once you come from under the dryer do try to move your hair it will be hard and i'm not too sure but probably would break based on how it is handled.
#5. You MUST MUST MUST have the Aphogee Balancing Moisturizer or at least another really good moisturizer because you will need to apply it after using this (it has protein in it so it strips your hair of any moisture that it had before.

I hope this info reaches u guys that may have questions before purchasing this product. The site didn't have any of this information listed so i took the liberty of posting for you. As for you guys that have had bad experiences i'm pretty sure if you go by these rules when using this product you won't have any more problems.

Neutrogena triple moisture is a great mositurizer to use after aphogee's 2 step treatment too. I also used aphogees balancing moisturizer. I think after this treatment it is a good idea to use a leave in conditioner too. I also like nexxus products and i make sure i take vitamins like beta carotene, vit d and vit a and especially biotin

How to Make It Work Best For you...

...Those with relaxed hair

1. Part hair in four sections, and apply treatment and make sure all hair is covered.

2. If hair is long, pin each section up off your neck loosely

3. sit under dryer until all product is rock hard dried onto your hair

4. DO NOT COMB/BRUSH/AGITATE

5. Wash hair in shower, remove pins once hair has softened. Continue to rinse product out for at least 15 mins.

6. Apply Balancing Moisturizer and leave on hair for at least 5 mins, and then rinse hair for another 5 mins.

7.towel dry hair, and apply a deep conditioner, I used Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Replenishing Conditioner w/ plastic cap and sat under the dryer for 20 mins( this helps to restore softness), then washed it out.

8. I applied Aphogee Green tea reconstructor and Chi silk fusion, and wrapped my hair while still wet. I then applied saran wrap and sat under dryer for 10 mins.

9. I took off saran wrap and sat under dryer until hair was dry, and then pressed it with my Sedu irons, my hair was sooo soft and silky, and no breakage, and bouncy, and I didn't have to blow dry, and it even smelled good(that conditioner has orange oil in it.

How to use Aphogee
submitted by: Cherie, Tue Oct 21 2008

Aphogee is to be used once a week for six weeks to start. If you use as directed: 1. Wash hair 2. Pour enough aphogee in palm of hand to cover head & comb through. 3. Let dry hard under hooded dry(or while doing housework),as long as it's dried thouroughly. "DO NOT COMB OR AGGITATE HAIR WHILE THIS PRODUCT IS IN HAIR". 4. Rinse hair throughly with warm water without touching hair use sprayer if you can or in shower let water just run aphogee out of hair. 5. Apply aphogee moisturizer as directed.
REMEMBER THAT USE OF THIS PRODUCT AND OTHERS STRIP YOUR HAIR OF MOISTURE, SO MOISTURIZER IS IMPORTANT!! Proceed to next step of styling ie...wrapping hair, blow drying,etc...
AGAIN DO THIS FOR SIX WEEKS AND THEN AS NEEDED.I've been using this product for over 10 years I can't remember exactly when I started using aphogee, but i've never stopped!

I'd say, Yes .. use a moisturizer

This protein conditioner is excellent, and I would recommended using some type of moisturizing conditioner with it. But I'd stay away from Aphogees's "balancing moisturizer" as it is very drying. Your ends will feel like straw.

If you do NOT follow these directions, you will break your hair......

1. Apply in sections, quickly
2. Do NOT bother your hair once Aphogee begins to dry
3. Sit under dry and do NOT move hair
4. Rinse THOROUGHLY. Let the WATER soften hair do NOT agitate hardened hair. AGAIN, RINSE THOROUGHLY
5. Follow with a moisterizer. Very important !

Application

I prefer what I call the layered application method. I part my hair, smooth some Aphogee onto it, comb it, section another portion, smooth it on and comb through and repeat until complete. I start from the nape of the neck to the front. I feel that I've been thorough in my application of the product when I do it that way. I don't get wet spots near the scalp whereas the outer application is ready to be rinsed out. Also, I read a review on this site where someone said they shampoo it out. You aren't supposed to do that. Just rinse and apply the moisture cream for a few minutes and you're done. I like to apply jojoba oil on my scalp after the moisturizer is rinsed out, comb it through and sit under the dryer for a few minutes. I'm just using this site as a way to say more about this product. I really can't say enough. My hair is amazing to me due to this product!
