ApHOGEE Treatment for Damaged Hair just didn't quite do it for me. My hair is heavily damaged from bleaching, hot ironing, blow drying and this product was just ok. It did condition my hair a little. It was ok for the price, but far from a miracle treatment. I also had to use a hand held blow dryer to heat it up because I don't have the kind you have to sit under. It may work for some people, but I wouldn't buy it again for me.

I just used this for the first time and I must say, it seems to have made a difference in my hair. The bits that were breaking and rough now are smooth and shiny. I have breakage from too much colouring, highlighting and flat ironing, but I do baby my hair. I sectioned my hair off after I washed it with clarifying shampoo and starting from the bottom, put the treatment on each section. It does drip, but I found it started to dry and harden quickly. I does stink! But, there's no way I would stop using something that is effective just because of the smell! My hair is incredibly shiny now and I found that I didn't need to do much to it today. I have to bleach my roots in just a few days so it was a good way to strengthen my hair beforehand. Will definitely buy more of this awesome stuff!

I am African American with thick, relaxed and my hair is in decent shape (only get breakage when I really "dog" my hair ie. daily flat ironing, working out and then flat ironing without washing, etc.)
I am a total product whore so I decided to try this out. I was able to find a 32oz for $19.00 at my local beauty supply and as a bonus it came with a free 16oz shampoo and conditioner...can't beat that deal with a stick!
I washed my hair, towel dried and applied the product. I noticed that it was a lot easier to apply with a travel size spout bottle...like the ones you can get at Target in the travel sized items section for $0.99. I must say that the smell was not all that plesant but I have smelled worse so I was able to hang.
After applying it, I sat under a hooded dryer for about 25 mins until my hair was hard, per the instruction on the bottle. This stuff really makes your hair crunchy! After I felt it dried in my hair, I almost wished I hadn't tried it but I pressed forward. I then rinsed and realized that the situation was beginnbing to turn around...my hair felt very soft. After a good rinse, I used the conditioner that I got and left that in for 15 mins.
I rinsed out the conditioner thne I used their Green Tea leave in reconstrutor (something I already had in my hair arsenal) blow dried and flat ironed my hair. My hair feels great...very soft and manageable and it does not have a "coated" feeling, that was something I was concerned about.
Overall, I am very pleased with the results and for the price you can't beat it! I don't think I would use this more than once every 6 weeks because this treatment is pure protein and it can be fabulous in moderation, but if overused, it can REALLY dry out your hair and make it even worse than when you started out.

Great value for the money....my hair is noticeably stronger and healthy-looking. I felt like it was pretty easy to use, although the smell wasn't the greatest. Highly recommend!
Wonder treatment, but careful if you use shades eq in light blond shades

This has been a wonderful discovery for me. My hair is fine and was colored black or dark brown for years, until I decided to lighten it to a level 9 blond and get extensions. Well you can imagine the havoc it created. Luckily, my husbands hairdresser told him about Aphogee...this has saved my hair. The only thing that I have had to work around is that I have used this after lifting my hair and then Aphogee right after, as his hairdresser told him that if I used it before my bleaching it would be less effective. Then I have toned with Redken Shades EQ,with a 9 N, 8N or a bit of 9V and my hair pulls in too much of the color, and along with it the unnatural colors that is contains to counteract the brassiness in your hair. The result has been, pinkish, purplish or greyish hair for a week or so. So this is something that anyone who uses this product with a non permanent lighter tone should be aware of. This also happened when I used it with Goldwell Colorance, which is their Acid Color or non permanent line. I have decided to use this product a few weeks away from my color services to be safe, as it is still a hair life saver!

This product does what it says it will do,which is to make your hair stronger and to stop breakage.The smell is pretty bad and the application process is pretty messy (the reason why i gave it 4 instaed of 5 stars) but other than that this product is a hair-saver!!!

Anyone who has problems with aphogee treatment must have used it wrong. I love love love this product. I had that thin kind of hair that shed so bad, broke off so much, shed on my shoulders, clothes, shed in a same spot where that spot was almost bald, then i tried aphogee hair treatment. I've been using it for a good 8 months now...wow i love it...what I do is I bought a spray bottle about 99 cents in hair store and add 1/2 aphogee and 1/2 water together. I then spray it on my hair rubbing it in with rubber gloves on, not only does it go on better with way fewer drips but i do not have to sit up under dryer. I can walk around house do house work or whatever i want to do and my hair dries hard in approximately 1 to 1 1/2 on it's own...of course thicker hair it might take longer and this is good if you don't want to sit up under dryer or do not have a dryer. I do keep a towel around my neck for the occasional drips I do get...but aphogee works just as good with the 1/2 water combination. I love this product...My hair is in excellent shape now...my strands are so strong...i pull my hair just to test the strength sometimes and it actually tugs my scalp without breaking...God answers all prayers...

I found out about Aphogee about 20 years ago. My hair was breaking really bad, so my stylist gave me the treatment. Well, to my surprise, my hair stopped breaking with the first treatment.
Today, I'm getting ready to go buy some b/c my new stylist just damaged my hair with a new perm and a permanent hair color. My hair falls out just by looking at it, seem like. I mentioned the Aphogee treatment to her and she said no but she would treat my hair with this conditioner for four weeks straight at a reduced rate. Her treatments are not working so, I'm going to go with what I know WORKS.
APHOGEE, HERE I COME!

I discovered the power of Aphogee in the early 1990's after a hairdresser damaged my thick long hair. She told me to use Aphogee damaged hair treatment. The product restored my hair in several months. To this day I keep a bottle of this amazing treatment in my collection of hair conditioners. I treat my once per month with Aphogee treatment in addition to the Aphogee Shampoo and Motions CPR treatment with a heating cap for 40 minutes to an hour. My hair comes out perfect every time. Stronger, bouncy, thicker, glossy, soft,very pliable and holds beautiful locks of curls. I feel that every product may not work for everyone, however you must use this product according to the directions and or consult a well trained cosmetologist who has experience using Aphogee. In addition you must rinse this product completely from the hair and immediately apply a conditioner for use with a heating cap. Limit the use of heat on your hair and wrap the hair at night with a silk scarf. You will soon love your hair. Other conditioners I use with Aphogee are Nexxus, Motions CPR, and Mendex. Thank you Aphogee for this amazing product.

My hair is very damaged from color and highlighting. I had been using a very expensive salon treatment when I saw this. After reading the reviews I thought it was worth a try. If it didn't work I hadn't lost alot of money. What a nice surprise! This worked as well as the thirty dollar stuff. The smell is pretty bad (why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5), but for the job is does on my hair..I can deal with it. It works for me..have ordered 2 more. Definately worth a try.

This stuff really made a big diference on my hair. After relying totally on a stylist to keep my hair in good shape; I got into a car accident and couldn't keep going. So I washed my hair the way I used to, and it turns out that my stylist had fried it! It was so dry and broke so easily, I was horrified. I did a little research and decided to try this stuff. It's a little gross to use, like eggs whites or something. But it doesn't smell bad at all to me. It has a faint odor of Tea tree oil to it, which a lot of people don't like. I think it smells like something outdoorsy, like moss or leaves. It ran all over the place at first, but I just got a damp wet cloth and would wipe as I dried under the bonnet. No big deal, really. I also used the balancing moisturizer and the primrose hot oil afterwards. I finished with their leave in conditioner and a little Kemi oyl for softness. I let my hair air dry and then press it with Pro style pressing oil and my Sedu flat iron. My hair is so well behaved now, and it has grown almost half an inch since the first time I used the treatment and the most recent application (around 1 month later) with any luck , I will undo some of the damage of a very bad relaxer, and grow back the 14 inches of hair that broke off over the last year because of it. Thank goodness for aphogee!!

I finally opened the bottle of my ApHOGEE "Treatment" today when it arrived at my door. I was excited to try it out hoping that it would give me great results like everyone else talked about on here. The smell wasn't so bad, so that gave me high hopes. Unfortunatly, once I was out of the shower after carefully following all of the instructions on the bottle, my hair was completely dry and felt like it was in an even worse state than it was in before! On top of that, it was such a hassle even putting it in my hair. Too bad I bought the whole ApHOGEE line because it was a sure waste of money and im hoping for a refund.

I was doing researc on products that will stop hair breakage after a bad dye job. I read all of the reviews on this site and thought that these people must had been paid to say great things about the Aphogee hair repair product. I couldn't had been further away from the truth. I tried the product yesterday and followed the instructions very carefully. Once I washed and dried my hair I couldn't believe my eyes. Every hair strand that was broken appeared mended and my hair felt strong and healthy. This morning when I ran the Chi flat iron through my hair there were exactly 5 hair strands on the floor. I was shedding hair every day. I only wish that I would had discovered this hair product before. I can't say enough good things about this product. If you have hair that is fine and breaks easily this is a must for your hair care regimen.

After reading great reviews about Aphogee Treatment, I bought the small bottle of it hoping it would help with my breakage. It doesn't smell that bad, but it did not work for me. Just because this stuff doesn't work for some people doesn't mean they're doing it wrong. Everything doesn't work the same for everyone's hair. I followed the directions perfectly and I still didn't see results. I have applied this stuff to my hair 3 times, of course I waited at least 6 weeks between treatments. First of all, it's a pain in the neck to put this stuff on. It's sticky and it drips. I had to rinse my hands a few times before I could finish applying it to my hair, not to mention it stained my carpet(do this in the bathroom). I used a hooded dryer until my hair was hard. The first time I used it, I used a deep moisturizing conditioner afterwards along with the Aphogee balancing conditioner, then I flat ironed. Just as much hair as usual, if not more, broke off on my bathroom floor. The last two times I used it, I used the same conditioners and I didn't use any heat afterwards, but I see just as much breakage as I did before I used this stuff. It just doesn't work for everyone and I won't be buying it again. If you're going to try this, buy the smaller bottle before you invest in the big one.
It's been the only treatment that has worked for me.

Thanks for a wonderful product. I came across the treatment in my sister's bathroom cabinet when whe migrated to the USA and used it in my hair, since I have thin hair that breaks constantly. I have used countless brands of treatment in my time but this is the only one that worked. I could feel the difference in my hair and it stopped shedding. The problem is the product is not widely distributed in Jamaica, WI and my hair really needs a treatment now. Thanks

I use a ceramic curling on on my long, naturally curly hair daily. So it's essential for me to maintain a regimine of protein and moisture treatments. Aphogee is my choice for a recontructor and I use it every 4 to 6 weeks following the instructions on the bottle. The only modification that I make it that I use a moisturizing conditioner/mask (one that contains no protein) for 30 minutes after I finish the Aphogee treatment. Yes, the smell is strong but the results are worth the nose pinching. My hair feels so strong and supple after an Aphogee treatment and I can always tell when I am somewhere between 4 and 6 weeks post-treatment... time for another treatment! In all, this is a great reconstructive 'band-aid'. I say 'band-aid' b/c obviously nothing but scissors can eliminate damage entirely, but Aphogee does a nice job of filling in those cracks and creating added strength. A must for all those who heat style and chemically treat their hair.
