i work at salon and this the only treatment i recommend, it only make sense, your hair is protein and protein is the only thing that can bind to hair and prevent breakage, No oils No conditoner, only protein. Just remember too much potein can dry ur hair out don't use more than twice a month and always use a rich conditoner after the aphogee treatment, i've used it for over 6 year and I'm afican american with thick past shoulder length hair and people ask me all the time what i use to make my hair healthy and i alweays them aphogee.
Very Thankful

I just wanted to say the 2in1 protein..Oh My Goodness it really works..I tried it last night..My hair was shedding bad for over a year..No product would work..I've went to having a perm to natural and now i'm back with wearing a perm in my hair..I believe all the pressing made my hair shed and become thin..I've always had Long Beautiful thick head of hair..And I believe using Aphogee products will do that for me..I followed the directions carfully to a T..And my hair only shedded a little when I ran the comb through my hair it only shedded a little bit....I would highly reccomend this product..I'm so happy that I don't have to spend another dime on a product and it not work..thankyou Aphogee...
Stops Breakage Immediately

I am multi-racial and have very thick, curly hair. A few years ago I stopped using chemicals in my hair and probably have about 1 more inch left to cut so that my hair is completely relaxer free (... please don't ask me why I use to relax my hair). At any rate, it's now past my shoulders. HOWEVER... Since it's been very cold here, I don't have the time in the morning to let my hair air dry. I was using a blow dryer every day or flat ironing here and there to straighten my hair on a regular and the ends were breaking off badly. I'm trying to grow my hair out so that I can wear my hair naturally curly most of the time but if you have curly hair, you know it looks much better if it's longer and has weight to hold it down... I tried Aphogee treatment for damaged hair and combed my NATURAL hair out this morning... I think there were TWO hairs that broke off... TWO... as opposed to at least 20 to 30 on a regular basis. My hair felt immediately stronger and yes...the smell is atrocious but it's worth it. I was told by three different stylist that you NEED to use the Aphogee balancing conditioner to restore the PH balance to the hair. It's not suppose to be a moisturizing conditioner... you can use your own favorite moisturizing conditioner afterwards. My question is... how often can I apply this treatment to my hair without having too much protein buildup? Every 4 weeks? Any suggestions????

I been using this product for over a year now. If you having breakage, i'll immediately stop after the 1st treatment. If not, u definitely doing something WRONG! I've used the 2 step treatment with or without the other products. Important the u rinse out thoroughly and soften with a conditioner. Excellent product.
LOVES IT!

I am sooo glad that I stumbled upon aphogee. I recently had a color correcter and bleach done on my hair. It was sooo damaged- course feeling, and split ends sticking out all over the place. I used this just once, and it was immediately MUCH healthier. It smoothed down all of the crazy hairs sticking out all over, and I did not see ANY more breakage afterward. The conditioner is just alright, nothing special, and actually not very moisturizing; but the protein treatment is WONDERFUL. Even if it does stink. Its worth it.

I love this product. Before I tried Aphogee protien treatment, I read Ultra Black Hair Growth II and the product reviews. It worked wonderfully and I noticed a significant difference right away. I had less shedding and virtually no breakage. Before, I had little hairs all over my sink when I comed my hair. The key is to follow the directions explicitly. The smell is not as bad as some other products I've tried so don't be put off by it. It's a small sacrifice to make for great hair. Also, you must moisturize your hair when you're finished the treatment (and every day for that matter). I like Elasta QP mango butter moisturizer because it's not too heavy and it's water-based. I apply it in the morning and at night and my hair is still bouncy and light.
Very good!

This product is the best! I thought when it started to harden that i had made a mistake by putting it into my hair but i washed it out and followed it with the aphogee moisturizer and my hair breakage stopped instantly! I used to have hair all over my clothing when i combed it or wven touched it but now there is barely a single hair in my comb when i comb it. This is great. Ive never had any products that have worked this quickly. The only complaints i have is that this product is very liquid like and may run all over the place but i am definely willing to deal with this because this product is amazing!

I love this product and it has been highly recommended through the years by hair care professionals. It is an excellent strengthener for my fine, relaxed hair.
I posted this review because of the negative reviews about this product. It cannot be used often. It should only be used as recommended which is once every 6 weeks (to avoid protein overload). Some people can get away with using it a little more often. One negative review stated it was used for six weeks in a row and it made the hair break off. Exactly! You must read and follow the directions. Another reviewer said it does not detangle. No, it doesn't. It was not meant to detangle. It is a super-strong protein infuser made for professionals. It is not a detangler. You must use the moisturizer as the second step to soften your hair after using this product. I follow up these steps with a moisturizing deep conditioner and a leave-in detangler for softness and slip.
Please follow the instructions on this product carefully. It is an excellent professional product but many of us are able to use it at home with absolutely no problems. To use this product you must be willing to thoroughly read and follow simple, basic instructions. I use this product on average every 6 weeks as part of my hair care regimen. Don't forget, you must use it with the Aphogee moisturizer. Also, the Aphogee shampoo is meant to be used with it also. It properly cleanses oils, etc. from the hair to make it ready for the protein treatment. As I said before, the protein treatment (and the shampoo) are not meant to give the hair moisture or slip. Just use it for what it was meant for and you will be very happy with the added strength to your hair.
I agree with most of the reviewers. I am completely satisfied. It is probably the strongest protein treatment on the market. Folica should carry the larger size. I think it's about 16 or 18 ozs. It would last about a year.
I absolutely reccomend this treatment for damaged hair.

After much research and frustration, I stumbled across this product. After reading all the reviews I decided to try it. I was a bit skeptical, however I decided to buy the product the very same day I found out about it. I was also concerned after buying the product that it might not be a product for caucasion hair. I researched that and found out that it is a product for anyone's hair. I noticed about two months ago when I went to get my hair cut. My hairdresser asked me who had cut my hair. I told her that no one had. That's when I realized that a year after hot ironing my hair it had broken of into pieces half the length that it was originally. My hair looks as though some one had purposefully cut bangs on me. This wasn't the case at all. My hair had actually broken from the heat and highlighting. Well, today I took the plunge and tried aphogee two step treatment. After reading the reviews I kind of tweaked the proceess for the best results. I applied the first set of the protein mix to my hair very generously. I basically held my head over the sink and saturated my hair. After I used a hair dryer since I didn't have a bonnet hair dryer to sit under. The lady at Sally's said that the bonnet dryer was not nesessary and that the hair dryer would do. So I dried my hair until it was rock hard and dry. Then I got in the shower and began to rinse my hair. I read over and over in the review how this step was very important and to make sure you rinsed thoroughly. I shampooed my hair about four times with a salon shampoo. I rinsed for about 15 minutes. Then I applied the Aphogee Balancing Moisturizer very generously. I then wrapped a wal mart bag around my head and sat with the moisturizer in my hair for about 20 minutes. I also reas in the reviews that the Aphogee moisturizer wasn't all that great so I then applied another deep moisturizing cream after rinsing out the Aphogee. After about 20 minutes I then rinsed my hair out and brushed all the tangles out. My results were VERY soft hair and less breakage. I styled my hair as usual with the blow dryer then the flat iron. I may have had about 4 hairs break. My hair feels so much better and healthier. This product really works and I can't wait to see my hair get back into a healthier state. I will be using it again. As for the smell and the mess, it does smell but bareable. The mess is minimal if you apply the product quickly as it becomes very sticky as it begins to dry. If used properly anyone should see great results.
This stuff is really good. And the price is even better!

My hair is medium to fine and really coarse, coily, dense African-American hair. Love it, but at shoulder length it's a lot of work. I tex-lax just enough to allow some manageability only about once a year. I don't use shampoos, only cleansing conditioners. It allows me to stretch my touch ups for months. Last spring after my last retouch, I noticed a lot of hair breakage. Relaxers are hard on my dry hair and I started looking for better deep conditioners and reconstructors. I used the Joico products but they get so pricey for the amount of product. My hair is so dense I would go through a 6 oz tube in one washing. Some of the Black themed hair blogs talked about Aphogee products balanced with a moisturizing conditioner and for the price I though I'd give it a try. I bought it then didn't bother with it for months. Opted to use the easier 2min version. I liked it but I was still having some breakage. I finally put the heavy duty stuff in last weekend. For me, I had to bend some of he directions slightly. I did a pre-poo conditioning treatment before applying (olive oil mixed with Queen Helene), did not use a clarifying shampoo but substituted my cleansing conditioner by Devacurl. I can't detangle my hair once I use a detergent based shampoo. Put on the Aphogee--which by the way smells not so great. Got under a hooded dryer for about 20mins til it got hard. Rinsed and deep conditioned over night with Devacurl conditioner and a little more olive oil. I skipped the Aphogee balancing moisturizer after reading the ingredients it didn't seem to be any different from what I already had on hand. No worries because my hair really turned out great. Much smoother in texture, some of the coarser parts that tend to frizz were straighter. As for the breakage, well the bonus is that I can see a sharper reduction of all that shedding. I was really shocked at how good the treatment worked. I would do it again and would recommend it with no qualms.

i just happened to see the aphogee line of products in the store..i brought the 2 minute kertian reconstructor. i liked how it made my hair feel.so i went back and brought the shampoo for damaged hair, the two step protein treatment, the balancing moisturizer, the essential oils, and the keratin and green tea reconstrucizer..i washed my hair with the shampoo, applied the protein treatment, sat under the dryer for 30 minutes, washed the protein out throughly, put the balancing moisturizer in my hair, let that sit for 2 minutes, washed it out, towel blotted my hair, applied the essential oils to my scalp and ends, rolled my hair and then sprayed it with the reconstrucizer..OMG when i took the rollers out my hair was SHINY, SOFT, AND SMOOTH..my hair hasn't felt this great in years, it's so soft, and smooth..before i used these products i was mad because i thought i was going to have to trim my ends off and my hair was shredding left and right.. NOT ANYMORE.for the people saying the protein treatment didn't work for them..you have to follow all the steps(ie using the recommended products)..i have relaxed and colored hair and my hair was looking good before it's looking great now..
must use as directed to work

make sure you comb it thru before drying and make sure you use a hair dryer because the heat does something to activate the product better. i have relaxed hair. i use this product a week before i get a relaxer and i have been using it for 6 months and i see a huge difference. Far far less breakage. of course, you must always have a regular weekly routine of washing and conditioning.
Not a good Detangling Conditioner

First I would like to say I haven't used the 2 step treatment yet but I plan to next week before I get my relaxer.
But I have used the Shampoo for damaged hair with the conditioner. I loved the Shampoo! It smelled wonderful and it lathered my hair on the first wash. Its an excellent shampoo but the 2 minute Keratin reconstructor did nothing for my hair, even after 10 minutes with the plastic cap. I felt I almost used the whole 8 ounce bottle with no results. It left my hair very tangled and I was stuck good thing I had my back up Pantene Pro V their new line for black women called Relaxed and Natural Intensive Moisturizing Conditioner. Now this product works wonders. As soon as i put it on my hair I was literally able to run my fingers through my hair. It detangled it instantly. I swear by this conditioner.
So I will stick with the Aphogee shampoo and I will try the 2 step treatment but as for conditioner I'm sticking with my Pantene Relaxed and Natural Intensive Moisturizing Conditioner. Its the Best!!!

I have wavy, dry, broken, cracked, split ended hair. I have been straighting my hair for about 4 years so my hair is too damaged to even look at. I was so upset that my hair turned out that way and now it doesnt even look good when i straighten it any more. I was desperate so i heard this stuff was pretty good. I did what the directions told me to do and did a deep conditioner (Neutrogena Triple Moisture Hair Recovery Mask) and i saw amazing results. My hair was shiny, bouncy, had hardly any split ends. I still had breakage though, but maybe that will take a little longer to get rid of. YOU MUST BUY THIS STUFF!!!

I had regular shoulder length hair that could pretty much withstand anything. I used it as a protection to try to thicken my hair. My hair started coming out because the relaxer came out of the hair in spots. I have lots of breakage and my hair is kinky and hard. I don't even recognize it. I won't use it again and I really want the protein to come out of my hair. Don't listen to the reviews. Test it first on a small patch of hair before you use it on your entire head. I used it six weeks in a row and boy has my hair been coming out like crazy.

When I used this product the first time it worked and I didnt use the balancing mosturizer, I used a different kind or conditioner. The second time, I dont think I let my hair get hard enough or rinse it good enough. And I used a different conditioner. I noticed my hair begin to break immediately. At first little hairs at the ends, then whole strands. It's been about a month and I want to try the treatment the right way, are there any professionals who think this is a bad idea?

I bought this product based on others reviews and I am glad that I did. I am Black and my hair is relaxed. I found that it was breaking a lot and decided to do something about it. The first time I used this, I didn't really see a difference but after using for a little more than a month, I have really seen a difference. When I comb my hair now, there isn't a "ton" of hair in the comb and all over the sink. Overall I was very pleased with this product and I will continue to use it. I also will recommend it to people (especially people with chemically treated hair like me)
