If you regularly trim your hair every 6-8 weeks, use a satin or net scarf before going to bed, moisturize 2-3 times a week, and use very little/ if any heat. Then yes you should try something different. | | Reply by cherish

You can substitute the balance moisturizer with a deep conditioner instead, the balancing moisturizer leaves ones hair far too hard, and I in my opinion it doesn’t condition the hair well enough after doing the treatment. Brands like Aubrey organics*, Pantene, tresemme supply wonderful conditioners, so try this method and hopefully it will rectify your problem.
* Aubrey organics range of products are 100% natural so this brand could benefit your hair even more! | | Reply by cherry

How often are you using it? As you are only supposed to use it every 6 weeks, if you have been using it every 6 weeks then this is the routine I recommend:
. Shampoo hair
. Apply treatment wait for it to dry DO NOT TOUCH IT WHILST ITS DRYING
. Rinse thoroughly with water until the water is running clear YOU MUST MAKE SURE ITS COMPLETELY RINSED OUT AS PROTEIN IS SUPPOSED TO BE RINSED OUT OF THE HAIR
. Note: follow these instructions to a tee if you have African American hair: deep condition hair its instructs to use their product line, however, the ingredients contained isn’t moisturizing enough. So deep condition hair for 20 to 30 mins under a heat cap rinse with water then THOROUGHLY MOISTURIZE HAIR!!!!!!!!!!
. Every week do a deep condition for 20 mins under heat cap make sure hair is always moisturise and wash hair once a week to allow the scalp to “breathe”.
Follow these instructions and your hair condition should improve.

Is it alright to use the Aphogee Two Minute Keratin Reconstructor a week or two after using the Treatment? Or should they not be used that close together? Thank you! Question posted by Mari Wed Jan 16 2008 Submit your answer Aphogee treatment
Does it usually take a couple of times to see a difference in the hair. I've used once ut hair is still breaking a bit. I did't use balancin moisturizer but I did use a deep conditioner afterwards. Should I have used Balancing moisturizer? Question posted by Lisa Tue Jan 15 2008 Submit your answer | Reply by Tiff

You should not have much breakage after the first use. That is the point of the treatment. You must use a very moisturizing deep conditioner right after you wash out the treatment. This is in order to combat the stiffness the protein will leave behind. You don't have to use the balancing.
Find the strongest deep conditioning mask you can find like tresemme for damaged hair or some other kind of deep conditioning mask. Your hair will continue to break if you don't deep condition it after the treatment. | | Reply by cherish

Minus the balancing moisturizer from your routine and just stick with a deep conditioner, aphogees balancing moisturizer is very misleading in the name as it doesn’t moisturize/ condition your hair as well as a deep conditioner does. | Is it safe to use on color-treated hair?

Yes stay clear from their balancing moisturizer brands such as Pantene tresemme or Aubrey organics supply wonderful deep conditioners for your hair.
Note: after you have rinsed out the treatment follow with a deep conditioner for about 15 - 20 mins under a heat cap then moisturize your hair as usual. | Drying time
I was wondering how long it usually takes for the product to dry on your hair and also about how long the bottle lasts before needing a new one Question posted by Kelley Hughes Wed Oct 24 2007 Submit your answer | Reply by mizz twists

it does! in fact a lot of natural haired ppl use it to maintain and prevent hair breakage. if you go to nappturality.com, go to the forum, go to natural hair products, click on commericial products, then do a search for aphogee, you'll see how other naturals use it and there are even links to their hair photo albums where they give detailed step by step instructions and more natural-hair friendly recommendations for the follow up deep moisturing conditioner.

This treatment is suitable for any hair type natural/coloured/.relaxed African American hair, just remember this treatment should only be used if your hair is in bad condition I.e. a lot of breakage shedding brittleness dry. Once your hair has rectified stop using this treatment as too much protein actually damages African American hair! Remember “You cant have too much of a good thing”. | Race?
Is this product for persons of any race? I noticed a lot of the people who reviewed the product said they were African-American. Does this product work for Caucasians? Question posted by Allison Tue Jul 10 2007 Submit your answer | Reply by Michele

Any race can use this product especially if you dye or chemically treat your hair. Africian American usually chemically straighten the hair which can cause a lot of damage due to the frequency of chemicals and excessive heat. For this reason, a lot of people mention their race so it is apparent to others of that race that they understand the hair texture and different situations that only others with that texture of hair may understand. | Hair Damage
I just learned about ApHogee treatment a few months ago. I wanted to know if I start the treatment once a month. Should I used the shampoo and conditioner at the same time in order to see better results. Will the product help my hair to thicken up? NO STOP! Only use this treatment if your hair is in really bad condition once your hair has rectified stop using it otherwise ironically this treatment will start to damage your hair. Also you don’t have to sue their branded shampoo or conditioner, after using this treatment you should follow it up with a deep conditioner not their balancing moisturizer as it doesn’t benefit the hair as well.
Hair Routine:
- Hair is in bad condition use aphogee treatment: shampoo hair, aphogee treatment, deep condition hair, moisturize.
- If your hair is better condition then stop using the treatment if it isn’t keep using it only every
6 weeks. Also if your hair is African American you should wash your hair at least x1 a week deep condition your hair x2 a week ; use natural oils e.g. olive coconut or shea butter on your hair shafts and your hair should become more healthier and longer. |
